On god this place is heaven for any fragrance enthusiast. They have a large curation of niche perfumes, and the staff are amazingly chill and friendly. The fragrances are sorted in sections by their notes, and there's an abundance of tester strips to try out the different scents. Whatever neiman marcus/nordstrom doesn't have, Scent Bar has it! Parking is free for the first two hours, and if you drive a tesla/EV, there's a supercharger station on the fifth floor...meaning you can spend the time charging your car smelling perfume! read more

I love perfumes and this fragrance store is amazing. NICHE gem! Whenever I'm here, I always stop into the store. You are welcomed and invited to look around and get your noses working to find your next scent! The employees are not only friendly, but their customer service is top notch. If you want help, just ask! They have helped me asking me what fragrances I like, notes I like, dislike, pulling out perfumes that I have never heard or think to try, showing me new releases, asking me for occasions I want to wear perfume, giving me samples of perfumes you enjoy. The staff understands fragrances. They understand what fragrances layer right and what don't. They know the notes in most of these perfumes. They carry hard to find fragrances too like Pas ce Soir, Delina, Jeroboam, Portraits... even Rice note fragrances. They are very patient and I believe it comes with the job because so much of perfume is experimentation. This is one of the few perfume stores I can go in and come out without a headache/ overwhelmed with too many harsh smells. I love perfumes but I can get sensitive to cloying scents which thankfully, they don't carry those. Love love this store and always so excited to build my perfume collection with them. read more

Scent Bar is somewhat of a happy place for me. I honestly did not realize this location existed until I was in The Row, early for lunch plans. Somehow, every location whether is in New York or LA; every employee is friendly, knowledgeable and super helpful. Someone always greets me and is eager to help. This location was no different. My favorite thing to do is to tell them what I'm currently wearing or what scent profiles I like and have them steer me. Dana and the nice man there were extremely patient with me. After about a dozen recommendations, I narrowed it down to two options. I let them know I would come back, depending on how they wore during lunch, and they understanding and not pushy at all. I left happily with their last bottle of God of Fire. No matter what level you are in your scent journey, visiting a Scent Bar is a must! LOL so I actually came here when I was a little sick. I couldn't smell the perfumes unless they were strong. The workers were so helpful in helping me try out different perfumes. There are a lot of perfumes you can sample but the popular ones are in the back which you will need assistance with. I also got recommendations and they can send you home with a sample! read more

The staff is super friendly and very helpful when to any questions about the perfumes they carry. I came in looking for some vanilla scents and they brought out a few that I can sniff out. I found my favorite vanilla scent ever thanks to them. I love the maison mataha (literally smells like the caramel part of a crème brûlée!!) and the tihota. David is amazing there. I stopped by to kill some times and was looking to get my nose on Steamed Rainbow for that fresh rain on asphalt smell. Picked it up and wanted to get my nose on a few things. I ended up purchasing a few for my collection and he recommended me to layer Steamed Rainbow by DS & Durga with Rouge Flor Mortis. Flor Mortis on its own I wasn't too big of a fan on on skin (on paper was amazing), but with that layering recommendation elevated both fragrances to a whole new extreme. I walked in purely out of curiosity and Immediately saw my section, Ocean/ Beach. I have this obsession with wanting to radiate vacation and sunscreen always.... So I tested Comptoir Sud Pacifque in Vanille Coco. I walked out of the store and then it just hit me like a ton of bricks... this is vacation, this is Sexy, and tropical... it's me! An experience exploring olfaction that isn't cloying. (I could never step foot in an Abercrombie & Fitch because of the acridity) In contrast, walking into Scent Bar smells inviting. The bottles, many are works of art in their own right compliment the fragrances they contain. This was my third visit, the last one was pre 2020. Every visit is pleasant with knowledgable staff helpful in guiding me to try new brands that would appeal to the notes I like. There are paper wands to spritz to compare scents. My husband and I came here to explore all their options. He came in looking for a signature scent for him, and I came in to scent match a perfume of mine that I love. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and so attentive and helpful despite having a relatively full store. We left with two samples to try and will definitely return to find more fragrances and purchase full sizes of the samples we bought. EDIT: I recently visited to pick up a full bottle of one of the samples my husband tried and Jenna was so kind and attentive, even remembering the scents we really enjoyed when we were there. While I enjoyed the scent of the fragrances, I was a bit disappointed with my purchase. I sampled the Narcotic V fragrance, which was a light pink in color. I told the attendant which fragrance I wanted, and he retrieved it from the shelf. However, after I completed my card transaction, he swapped the original box with another one, saying, "I'm going to give you this one instead." When I got home and opened the box, the Narcotic V inside looked darker in color and smelled different from the display sample. I can't help but feel like I got duped. read more

Came across this small shop with over 100+ bottles of perfume on display. I've been looking for a combination scent of apple and sage, and the staff's recommendation was close to what I was looking for. Unfortunately, the bottle on display didn't have enough leftover to create a take-home sample. But I managed to find a subtle roasted green tea and mango scent that was packaged for me to take home. I love smelling good, this place helps me to do that. More importantly, though, the PEOPLE at this place help me to do that! Specifically, Dana is like a scent Somalia. Girl needs to get paid more for her knowledge and her videos are off the charts. Makes me want to buy everything. And it doesn't hurt that she's a TOTAL BABE. Anyway... The customer service here is incredible, the staff know more than I ever thought could be known about perfume. They know about ingredients, they know about pairings/blending, they know about so much that I am convinced that they know what smells I liked in my past life. I'm a complete fragrance novice, and stopped in the other day to pick out a fresh scent for the summer. The shopkeepers were so incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, and the bottles the pulled to sample were on point! Love that I was able to walk out wearing one scent and got a sample vial of another. I finally lit the candle that I purchased here and have been terribly disappointed. Candles that cost this much should have scent that last through the end of burning it. This candle only smelled nice before burning it when I opened the box. I've had better candles from Bath and Body work's that smell great until the end of the candle. I wish I could right an objective review, but the rude manner of the attendant prevents me from it. Here's what happened: I arrived at Scent a few minutes past 7pm on Friday 6/7, the door was still open, so I went inside, I received an unfriendly "we're closed" by way of greeting, no eye contact. I asked if perhaps he could tell me if they had a cologne I was interested in, he replied "We're closed, I need to go someplace", still no eye contact. Either he did not receive any kind of customer service training, or their sales are so great they can afford to turn customers away! Either way, I will find other establishments to buy my colognes. read more

I was unsure if this is the LA culture where sales associates just bring out bottles from the rack, left you alone to try them, and expect to make a sale that way. The sales associates just left me there trying the scents without even bothering to explain/tell me about the notes and etc. (p.s. the store was not even busy AT ALL when I was there) I'm quite discouraged to buy since the associates aren't attentive at all. Seems like to them, a customer is not as interesting as their computer/their little chit chats. How disappointing... I had some expectations before coming in this store since Lucky Scent is a really big online business for perfume. And scent bar is one of their physical store. However, the unprofessional, inattentive service is a big no for me. read more

Had an excellent experience here with Brendan, the store associate, who spent over 25+ minutes talking to us and offering us different scent recommendations. Ended up leaving with a candle and three perfume samples to try. Needless to say, I'll be back next week to purchase. They have TONS of scents ranging from the standard brands you can find at Nordstrom (Tom Ford, Maison Francis Kurkdjian, or Vacation) to unique brands that you'll struggle to find in store (Gritti, Liquides Imaginaires). They have their perfumes sorted by base notes which is soooo helpful if you enjoy a particular scent. I came here for something unique and special and definitely found it. Highly recommend trying Scent Bar before leaning into any recommendations for a "dupe" that you might see on social media. Being able to smell the fragrances changed my mind about what I came to buy and Brendan changed it even more! 10/10 read more

The guys were friendly but let me browse in peace at first, which I like, then when we got talking they had a ton of recommendations based on my favorite notes. Ended up buying something totally unexpected, Comme des Garcons/Monocle Scent Three: Sugi, which I love. The Hollywood location is way more intimidating and I felt out of place just walking in there, although they were more or less friendly there as well. Came here and went on a straight LEGIT scent journey with Dana. What a superstar. Kind, attentive, and Super Duper helpful. Found my signature scent, "straight to heaven" which I learned can be paired with any of the original molecule perfumes. I like to pair it with molecule 01, and molecule O2. I never knew there was so much in-depth information to perfume, nor did I know how many varieties there actually are. Awesome perfume / cologne / scent shop. They have an amazing selection of things that smell good. Most of them are really boutique / unique scents that you will not find at your local macy's. The stuff in here is not cheap, but if you want to find something different than Acqua Di Gio then this is a good place to start. I love how the scents are organized by scent family. I've been a customer of Luckyscent for almost a decade. When ScentBar opened up at the Row, I knew I would be going there often. So far, I've bought three bottles of my favorites from this location. I enjoy talking to the staff - they're friendly, funny, entertaining and willing to share their suggestions and favorites. It's basically like hanging out with friends who are perfume junkies and it's great. Samples are free, limit 2 per person. My favorite part of visiting is the conversation. It really makes the experience that much more satisfying. It does get pretty pungent in there when people are spraying up a storm so don't be surprised to be overwhelmed. read more
