This Scent Bar location is located at The Row. There is a parking garage here where the first 2 hours are free. They have a great selection of perfumes organized nicely by scent profile. I came through to check out their selection of One Day, J-Scent, and d'Annam products and they had a fully stocked selection from each brand!

I am here every weekend! At this point it's a mandatory stop before or after grabbing a bite from smogasburg. People that works here are super knowledgeable, friendly and helped me built and find my next perfume for my collection.

My nose is soooo overwhelmed. But so many funny and interesting scents. Like white rice perfume. Some coffee beans to refresh my nose would be nice.

Dana was super patient and great at giving me recommendations

Scent Bar is somewhat of a happy place for me. I honestly did not realize this location existed until I was in The Row, early for lunch plans. Somehow, every location whether is in New York or LA; every employee is friendly, knowledgeable and super helpful. Someone always greets me and is eager to help. This location was no different. My favorite thing to do is to tell them what I'm currently wearing or what scent profiles I like and have them steer me. Dana and the nice man there were extremely patient with me. After about a dozen recommendations, I narrowed it down to two options. I let them know I would come back, depending on how they wore during lunch, and they understanding and not pushy at all. I left happily with their last bottle of God of Fire. No matter what level you are in your scent journey, visiting a Scent Bar is a must! There is always something new and exciting to indulge in.

Was the most annoying customer bringing in a crazy list of all the thing I wanted to smell with a booklet to save every sample I loved, and yet Johnny and Ronnie were SO nice, helpful, knowledgable, and patient with me. Such an awesome wide selection of niche uncommon perfumes! Definitely check it out and see what you like!

The staff is super friendly and very helpful when to any questions about the perfumes they carry. I came in looking for some vanilla scents and they brought out a few that I can sniff out. I found my favorite vanilla scent ever thanks to them. I love the maison mataha (literally smells like the caramel part of a crème brûlée!!) and the tihota. They carry a lot of higher end perfumes and perfume brands I never even knew of! I also really love that they also offer two free samples of any fragrance whenever you shop here!

I walked in purely out of curiosity and Immediately saw my section, Ocean/ Beach. I have this obsession with wanting to radiate vacation and sunscreen always.... So I tested Comptoir Sud Pacifque in Vanille Coco. I walked out of the store and then it just hit me like a ton of bricks... this is vacation, this is Sexy, and tropical... it's me! I literally U-turned and walked back in to take home my new baby. Now I am home ordering samples from their website. Staff was so kind and helpful. I'll be back!

Alex is super knowledgeable and friendly!

An experience exploring olfaction that isn't cloying. (I could never step foot in an Abercrombie & Fitch because of the acridity) In contrast, walking into Scent Bar smells inviting. The bottles, many are works of art in their own right compliment the fragrances they contain. This was my third visit, the last one was pre 2020. Every visit is pleasant with knowledgable staff helpful in guiding me to try new brands that would appeal to the notes I like. There are paper wands to spritz to compare scents. If you like, you can try some on to see how they blend with your chemistry and if you are unsure, you can ask for a sample to go. Fragrance is a personal choice, and with a well curated selection and educated staff, you can find something that pleases your own individuality.

It' hard to tell from a thin strip sprayed and other scents in the store...coffee beans really don't help. But I'd spray a bit on my skin and ask the other sales ladies what they thought. The one's I bought I liked and they loved! I bought 3. They were authentic (not fake like a lot of those booths are in downtown fashion district. Look for a metal stamp on the bottom of the bottle next to another stamp. If it doesn't have a metal stamp or engraving in the bottle, it's probably fake. Mostly men in there. Vicky even showed me how to get a bigger discount and asked me if I wanted bottled water. I took two. With all the booths in front of the stores in that area it's hard to find but I did. Parking is a scam...they wave $3 or $5 signs and point you to building parking and then when you get there it's $20! She said the $3-$5 was weekdays. But I felt safer there so I paid the $20. But I really just wanted to compliment Vicky for her patience with me. Give her a raise boss...or at least kudos. Many kudos. Thanks Perfumes LA...I'll be back.

The 2nd time I went there, a male supervisor intervened rudely into our conversation. I didn't make a big deal about it since he was not the one helping me. However during my 3rd visit there. I spoke with an assistant supervisor names Amelia who put to the side the last bottle of fragrance they had left for me. I was driving through the horrible traffic in LA and Amelia somehow had to go home. Unfortunately, the same Hispanic male supervisor made me feel like I was a burden. He must've stopped helping me at least 3 times to go help other people. His excuse was there were short of staff. By the time he called Amelia and located the fragrance she put aside for me, I was over it. Not to mention the fragrance had no plastic on it, which tells me that it was used. Honestly, I went there not because they have the best price, it's merely because I don't have the patience for shipping. Nonetheless, if you are looking for authentic fragrances you can go on Jomashop, or Fragrance net, Maxaroma or Scents Angels. Needless to say I will not be going back!

I love perfume. Somewhere else on my Yelp pages, you will see a review of my favorite French line…read more But, I am always "scenting", on the hunt for something new and different. For that reason, over the past year or two I have been collecting "Ouds", made, ideally, from the rare wood collected in the Orient, quite costly, but conferring an oh-so-sophisticated and mysterious fragrance that is right up my alley. When my daughter suggested I try Le Labo, I remembered that my niece had given me a Verveine (Verbena) candle from Le Labo a few years ago and I love it. There are a couple of Le Labo counters in Nordstroms near me but I wanted to go to one of their bricks-and-mortar shops. Since I love Silverlake, this was the logical choice. Now, I have mentioned previously that I love Silverlake and Echo Park for their urban hipster expensive grunge, very much like a slightly more down-at-the-well-heeled Oakland. Any excuse to dine, grab coffee, ice cream, or sample fragrances at the various stores on Sunset Boulevard in this area is welcome. Two weekends in a row, I went with a group to Le Labo. The first time it was packed and all I could do was spritz a couple of their bespoke scents on my wrists. The second weekend, I wanted to try their Oud. This second time was great because there were fewer customers in the store than there had been on Labor Day weekend, so I got a lot of personal help from the three Labo people there. I came away with a sample of my previous week's fave, Tabac 28 and two wrist-spritz's (Oud and The Noir) and several blotters of Cuir, Myrrh, Cedre and one other I have forgotten. I didn't like anything but the Tabac and will likely order a larger bottle. OK, so, here is the experience, overall. Quality products -- no doubt about it, complex blends (the number after the name tells you how many different scents are in the blend) in a glass bottle with your name on it, if you want. The space is edgy and cool. My dad was a perfumer so I know what a perfume lab is supposed to look like. This was a mini-lab spot and done to look like an OG laboratory (Le Labo, aka, The Laboratory) in Grasse, France. All nice touches. Couches to sit on, bright light through the window pouring in from Sunset Blvd. No complaints about any of these features. Now, for the reality check. The stuff is sky-high in pricing. I have some super refined perfumes from France that don't cost as much as these little bottles. Make sure you are caffeinated and fed before you visit, lest you faint. The service is OK. I am not sure any of the staff know much about perfume, apart from their LL products. No worries. I know a lot. They were attentive, not warm, helpful, not problem-solvers. Like what? The Oud I came for was not available in the sample everyone should get before they part with a few hundred smackers for a full bottle. I settled for it being sprayed on my wrist from the tester bottle. And, I didn't like it later anyway, but still, they should have the small samples! Don't they want to sell this stuff? One last thing. I love this area and this stretch of Sunset, but! It's dirty and littered. How the three upscale, pricey perfume emporia manage to sell expensive goods is a mystery to me, since to get to any of them, one has to bob and weave to miss the garbage. Even NYC isn't this dirty! Be prepared. Come dressed for the rest, so you don't stand out in a bad way and attract the wrong kind of attento, you know what I mean? Wear sturdy shoes as the sidewalk is straight out of the Asbury Park Funhouse and you don't want to fall and shed your expensive scented oils. Don't be unprepared for sticker shock. Make sure you get sprayed and if you ask for paper blotters, see to it they write down the scent on them -- they don't do that. My dad had labeled blotters all over our house when I was growing up, with the name or code and date on them. Blotters hold scent for a long, long time -- get some for any perfume you are interested in before you buy it and wait a week to decide that the dry-down version (base note dominant) is for you, before your plunk down a ton of George's. Otherwise, I love it.
