Just a heads-up: the path down to the water can be a bit slippery and muddy, so wear sturdy shoes and skip your best outfit. Bug spray is also a must, especially if you visit during warmer months. I'd recommend going during off-peak hours for a more tranquil experience, but even when there are more people, everyone has been friendly, and it never feels overcrowded. Bohemian Park is not just a dog park--it's a great place to enjoy nature and relax. Gravel and dirt parking too btw.

However, be careful as the roots from the pines run across the trails and if you are not careful you could fall. This is a nice park to bird watch or for the young ones to find creatures. This park is on a hill, and one part of the park is a small Long Leaf Pine Forest, the other part a park with a memorial, veterans fountain, and benches atop a hill overlooking Mobile Bay. I did see one or two cars parked along the park for free, and I did not see any no parking signs, but I think most people that visit either park at Fairhope Municipal Pier or at Fairhope Municipal Beach at the bottom of the hill. There are no restrooms or playground (s) at this park, it is more devoted to nature, but restrooms, BBQs, and picnic tables are available downhill at Fairhope Municipal Beach. Most of the people I saw at or around the park were walking for exercise or walking thier dogs, like myself. Quiet and beautiful.

There are restrooms and benches and a very nice brick pathway along the edge of the water. The pier does extend out quite a way. The day we were there was blazing hot, so the walk to the end of the Pier seemed to take forever, but at the end there is some shade to make it all worthwhile. From the pier parking lot you could drive over to the beach area. There is a booth where you need to pay to enter the beach area, however when we were there, no one was working the booth. The beachfront is fairly long, and seems very clean. We weren't there very long, but we enjoyed checking it all out.

Do not let that deter you from visiting this park, all up and down The Gulf Coast, from Texas to Florida you will find that type of wild life, even on The East Coast all the way up to North Carolina. Nice boardwalk for a stroll with your doggo. I did not get a chance to travel the entire length of the boardwalk because I heard a lot of thunder, the sky was clear, so I left and within ten minutes it rained ( storms are common here, but usually brief, in fact it rains every afternoon in the summer).
