I'm in…read moremy forties and I had only ever heard of big Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans but apparently this is where it all started. This little park downtown celebrates that history in such a fun, colorful way. The statues are fantastic! They're detailed, dramatic and full of personality. They really capture the pageantry and tradition of Mardi gras. We happened to visit in December and I feel like that made it even more charming because they had a gorgeous Christmas tree up in the park in addition to all the beautiful statues. Everything felt super festive and we ended up spending almost an hour in the park. That probably sounds crazy because the park isn't even that big, but it's really well kept and perfect for stretching your legs and taking photos. We took our time walking around and our dog enjoyed the open green space. It was a fun way to spend the afternoon and I feel like I learned a lot. I definitely recommend stopping by here if you are in the area.

The park offers numerous recreational activities, such as disc golf, playgrounds, picnic areas, and walking trails. It encompasses the Mobile Museum of Art, Mobile Botanical Gardens, and Playhouse in the Park. In addition, the park features tennis courts (the Mobile Tennis Center), and athletic fields for baseball and softball. Langan Park is also a popular spot for outdoor concerts and family outings. Many of the trees are labeled by genus and species. Plus, there is a large body of water that harbors the natural habitat for many birds, insects and other aquatic life. The 2.5 mile diameter sidewalk in the park is perfect for walking or running; though, It is not good for rollerskating in-line skating or skateboarding. Mostly because the mandatory crevices in the sidewalk are too wide (in some places) for the small wheels to navigate them safely. Seemingly, The maintenance crew does not keep the sidewalk very clear from debris. This could seriously injure a skateboarder or roller skater. It (a nasty fall from debris on the sidewalk) has happened to me twice already in the last six months. Minus 1 star for maintenance. Otherwise I completely enjoy walking in the park

This park has a lot. Always clean, litter free, pet friendly, great for kids, families, couples, etc. Tons of wildlife: ducks, geese, fish, turtles, rabbits, squirrels, an occasional alligator sighting in the lake areas (warm weather usually). Every time I come here, I always find something cool or new that keeps me coming back. Safe, there is a police station and military reserve located in the park near the museum. Directly across Ziegler Blvd from Mobile Japanese Gardens.

This is a nice, quiet, small, historic park located off of Government Street in Mobile. It has a…read morememorial, a fountain, benches. No playground or restrooms. It is very shady and cool from the giant oak trees. A great place to reflect, relax, read a book, think, or walk your dog. It has no parking lot, so you may have to park by the nearby businesses or residential streets and walk to the park. It is a short walk from Murphy High School on Carlen Street, which is a nice place to visit when all the students are not there. The park has many old Southern Homes around it, and other local businesses. There is a Waffle House on Government Street plus a gas station, Subway, Pizza Hut, and car wash nearby. There is an old, abandoned, boarded up church nearby as well.

Three or four benches & trashcans, most in the shade, under Southern Live Oaks with Spanish Moss, one near playground, one near basketball court. Playground has a swingset, slides, monkey bars. There is a drinking fountain. No parking lot, but there is a gravel vehicle access road that leads near the creek if you want to fish, or you could park on the residential streets surrounding the park. This park is wooded, a little swampy & marshy near the creek in the rear. Two large grassy areas for baseball or soccer, however, both were muddy because of summer storm season. My dog liked the park. Would be nice if this park had restrooms or a port-a-potty. FYI, there is a burned, abandoned, condemned house directly next to the park. Part of the park extends in the back behind three or four homes, it is a wooded area, but the clearing was a little muddy. If you are in that area, no one can see you there from the road.

Just as an aside, there is an amazing barbecue restaurant called Moe's on that quiet street, stop by there before going. It is one of my favorite barbecue places.

Decent medium sized park in a residential area in Saraland, Alabama. The playground only has a…read moreslide, swings, & a single chair swing all in the shade of Water Oak Trees. The majority of this park is open green space, for football, soccer, or kids & dogs to run around. There is a very shallow creek in the rear of the park with a small beach down a small incline. This area is hidden from street view, looks like a nice place to hang out. Next to the park is a storm drain along a torn chain link fence, a little bit of the woods is there. No restrooms, picnic tables, BBQ's at this park. No parking lot, you need to park on the grass.
