These are just a few of the majestic and breathtaking birds that I saw when visiting the Audubon Bird Sanctuary on Dauphin Island near Mobile, Alabama. If you are a birdwatcher, or if you just love nature and walking along wooden footpaths through groves of trees and lagoons covered with lily pads, you'll enjoy spending some time here. I walked for an hour with my binoculars, listening and looking for birds. I saw birds that I knew, and birds that I've never seen before. I stood and gazed at the lagoon and lily pads, enjoying the quietude of nature and water. I walked through the shade of trees, listening the the hum of silence broken only by birdsong. Birding is a peaceful hobby. It's about listening, looking, and patience. Being at the Audubon Bird Sanctuary gave me the sense of peace and calm that only nature can provide.

The park was free. Definitely worth it to access nature and the beach.

My only gripes are that the sign for Cadillac Square is very much not well thought out as we had no clue exactly what was trying to be conveyed. I had to park the car and look up the history of the area to actually understand what was trying to be said. Also, information on the park is located right in front of the bathrooms. We were not able to get out and read it as we had to catch the ferry, but I think the location of it should change. You would only catch it if someone in the group had to use the bathroom. They should place it more central or right in front of the sign for the square. The only true highlight for my sister and I were the trees because it's interesting to us that they have been growing/around for so long.

This park is off the beaten path, it has portable toilets instead of permanent restrooms. There are six pavilion ms with picnic tables, trashcans, water faucets, and electric light switches that includes two AC outlets to charge your phone, plug in a radio, etc. There are no BBQ pits at this park, so you will need to bring your own portable grill. There is a playground set back far from the road, has newer playground equipment in good conditions plus swing sets. The park also has walkways, a basketball court, and a large open green space directly behind the playground.the park had two small sized parking lots, one by the entrance, and one next to the playground.

There are several pavilions, a children's play area, and more. I enjoyed just walking this park and along the pier just across the street. I also noticed that they had a lot of metal arch-type structures just before the pavilions that stated "PAVILIONS" throughout the property. I was talking to a client about it the next day, and he told me the shipping yard donated them to the community. This made sense to me. Pascagoula has a huge shipping manufacturer in their town. Obviously, this park was pretty popular to the community. The place had a lot of people just hanging out and enjoying being alive in the moment. Everything from a family enjoying the evening and a pizza, to joggers and dogwalkers to teenagers just hanging out were taking advantage of Pascagoula Beach Park. If business returns me to Pascagoula, Mississippi again, I would definitely return here. Sign says no pets, no coolers, no drinking, no smoking. I know they do The Watermelon Festival here. It is in a rural area. Grand Bay, Alabama is a unincorporated community. I am pretty sure there are public restrooms near the baseball concession area, but I did not go there. There were horses grazing in a field with some donkeys just beyond the gazebo.
