I felt comfortable at the beach with plenty of seating. This beach is great for a family fun day, a friends meetup, a day date and/or an exercise venue. Volleyball on the beach was available, pier access, dock access and trails for walking and running. I'm impressed with clean sandy beach and the beach town.

Everything is awesome for us, from the small boutiques, Fairhope Pharmacy, walking the pier, talking to Garfield the Goose at the duck pond and so many other things I can't name. When the original founders wanted to make this a utopia, little do they know they have succeeded. So many transplants, like us, and yes many tourists and y'all keep coming back. New experience tonight with the Christmas Parade. Wow, it was awesome. I've been to Christmas parades before, but this was the best ever. I met so many nice people, who when we tell them we recently move here, they are so welcoming, from celebrities to just your neighbor. No wonder Southern Living has written so many articles about Fairhope.

The town is filled with pastel colored houses, dreamy tree lined streets with flowers on every corner, resident geese and pelicans that the locals have named and the most friendly people I've ever encountered. I knew I wanted to get away to some place fairly close and Southern Living named Fairhope one of the best small towns in the south and after a little research I was sold. Fairhope is only about five hours from Lafayette and if you're in New Orleans it's even closer...about two hours, thirty minutes. Mobile is right across the bay, so you can go to the "big city" fairly quickly but stay in this idyllic little town. There's so much to do with the museums, shopping, and dining. This is a beautiful, quaint and serene place to spend a weekend or weeks! We recently spent a…read moreweekend there and was impressed from the moment we drove up until we left. The grounds are beautifully manicured, cozy and intimate. It's Perfect for a late nightcap around the fire pit or just enjoying the ambiance. We stayed in the Lotus suite which had a beautiful view of the bay and was clean, airy with the perfect decor. I must mention the owners Dana and Jim. They were both very personable, friendly and seemed to take a genuine interest in all of the guests. We had breakfast outside in May, the weather was great and the food was delicious. Fairhope is almost like a hidden gem of Alabama. It's a lovely small town and if you are just passing through or planning a trip I highly recommend staying at the Jubilee Suites!

7/27/22: Nice access area to a small beach. You come to the McMillian Bluff Access sign, and walk…read morethrough a garden type area until you get to a wooden deck. From there, descend a wooden stairway down to the beach and water. There is a second wooden deck halfway down the stairs with benches where one can stop, rest, & look out at the water. The hillside surrounding the stairs is covered in vegetation, probably kudzu, but I could be wrong. Beautiful breathtaking views. However, I came very early in the morning, most likely at high tide, plus we had storms + flood advisories that week, so the water had come all the way up to the very bottom of the stairwell, so no beach access that morning. If that happens, May Day Park & Belrose Park are also nearby with beach and water access. There are No Parking signs all near McMillian Bluff entrance, streets are very old, narrow, & in residential areas. Please be aware.

Do not let that deter you from visiting this park, all up and down The Gulf Coast, from Texas to Florida you will find that type of wild life, even on The East Coast all the way up to North Carolina. Nice boardwalk for a stroll with your doggo. I did not get a chance to travel the entire length of the boardwalk because I heard a lot of thunder, the sky was clear, so I left and within ten minutes it rained ( storms are common here, but usually brief, in fact it rains every afternoon in the summer). If you are staying at the RV park you can use the area to fish even if you don't have a boat. The area is so nice because it is a combination of wild area and water. The restrooms are also nice and clean. The bathroom areas are all private. Each bathroom has a shower also. It was nice peaceful and quiet. We did get to see some gators and husband caught some fish. The park is conveniently located just a few miles from the USS Alabama ship and museum. If you want to go somewhere a little more upscale Fairhope is only an about a 20 minute drive. It is outside of town, but within minutes you have grocery and retail shopping.
