I love this park. It is always so quiet, clean and is the perfect place to walk your dog or just read. Kids also would have tons of fun playing here on their playground! They also have a field behind that could be used for anything! I love this place! The trail is also nice!

It's right on Mobile Bay with bathrooms, picnic tables and playground. It is very nice.

This beautiful park located just outside of Mobile AL is known for its beautiful sunsets. It did not disappoint.... The park offers beautiful scenic views, walking paths and gorgeous flowers. If you are in the area and looking for a good place to relax from the everyday...this is your spot. Mobile Bay reminds me a lot of New Orleans' Lake Pontchartrain. Down in New Orleans we have plenty of lakefront areas, but nothing quite like this. Bayfront park is just was the name indicates. This park is directly on Mobile Bay which leads to some stellar views as well as a relaxing atmosphere. The park consists of a large play area for children, and several shelters along the bay front. Since I am not a resident of Dauphin Island, my experience at this park is limited to one brief visit. On the way back from Fort Gaines, I saw the sign and decided to check it out. The view from the park is unlike any I found on the island. If you are a fan of the water like I am, you will love being this close to the bay without anything spoiling your view. It's really unique. Had I known the park existed, I would have probably packed a lunch, sat along the shore and had a picnic. In fact, that is why I write this review. I imagine the locals are quite familiar with the park as evidenced by several groups occupying some of the shelters. But for visitors to the area, this would make a great place for a BBQ or picnic. Especially when you consider that the restaurant scene is somewhat lacking, this could be the best place to eat in all of Dauphin Island. If you need a place for your kids to play, or you're looking to picnic on Dauphin Island, check out Bayfront Park. read more

Not much at this park for the kids. My four-year-old and five-year-old loved going down the slides and that was the highlight. The view is beautiful and there are picnic tables available to sit right on the water. They have bathrooms available, which is nice. They have a place for swings but there were no swings hanging. It was like someone had removed them. That was a bummer for the kids. read more

The park is a little dated but, serves multiple purposes. You can sit and enjoy the view of the barges and other ships going by and there is a small playground for kids to play on. I was someone with binoculars and I am guessing they were bird watching since this is a stop on the birding trail. Parking was easy and the only other person besides the bird watcher was someone wading in the water that I am assuming was looking for crabs. Like I said this isn't the nicest and best park I have ever seen but it's adequate for some afternoon relaxation. read more

As far as parks by the beach go, this one's all right. Play structure is small but serviceable and somewhat shaded, if you're trying to avoid the midday burn with your little one. There is a slide and a couple of swings along with a covered picnic area. I have a feeling that most people use this access for fishing -- there are beautiful water views and it was very peaceful the day I played there with my son. In any other location, the park would be nothing to write home about, but the bay saves it and makes it a nice change of pace. read more

The boat launch is directly next to Cafe Del Rio Mexican Restaurant and you can see the USS Alabama across The Causeway on the other side. During the summer, it is very busy & you can see alligators sunning themselves nearby in the tall grasses. I believe this boat launch gives access to The Mobile-Tensaw River Delta. Mobile Bay is very shallow. Also a good point for kayaks and rafting. It is known locally as a very good fishing spot, but the pier sign says no crabbing or fishing from the pier. I see a lot of retired fisherman come here, they bring a lawn or deck chair and fish more behind the parking area near the water.
