I enjoyed my time at this park and it was a nice place to wind down after a long work day. I am sure that the neighborhood residents enjoy this park and many great memories will be forged here. We as a part of a community need parks. A place where we can gather together in rest and recreation. A place we can get together and just forget the stress of the world's grind.

There are walking trails that go through the woods, an off-leash dog area, and multiple mixed-use sportsball/athletic fields. On hot days, the splash pad area is the place to be, making for a safe space for kids and families to cool off and enjoy the sun. The frisbee disc golf course is one of the real hooks to the park, nicely laid out and maintained, and providing differing levels of challenge. Public restrooms are all around, the playground and splash pad area have soft landing spots, and it is generally well lit and safe all through the park. There are even several canopy areas with tables, allowing for picnics or other gathering use and mostly just to get out of the Alabama sun. Get out and enjoy the greenspace, Mobile, it's a beautiful place.

Park is open from dawn to dusk like all other parks in Mobile. The playground is the best of all the parks in my opinion. It is fairly busy, but not so much that would make you visit elsewhere.

The park offers numerous recreational activities, such as disc golf, playgrounds, picnic areas, and walking trails. It encompasses the Mobile Museum of Art, Mobile Botanical Gardens, and Playhouse in the Park. In addition, the park features tennis courts (the Mobile Tennis Center), and athletic fields for baseball and softball. Langan Park is also a popular spot for outdoor concerts and family outings. Many of the trees are labeled by genus and species. Plus, there is a large body of water that harbors the natural habitat for many birds, insects and other aquatic life. The 2.5 mile diameter sidewalk in the park is perfect for walking or running; though, It is not good for rollerskating in-line skating or skateboarding. Mostly because the mandatory crevices in the sidewalk are too wide (in some places) for the small wheels to navigate them safely. Seemingly, The maintenance crew does not keep the sidewalk very clear from debris. This could seriously injure a skateboarder or roller skater. It (a nasty fall from debris on the sidewalk) has happened to me twice already in the last six months. Minus 1 star for maintenance. Otherwise I completely enjoy walking in the park

Always clean, litter free, pet friendly, great for kids, families, couples, etc. Tons of wildlife: ducks, geese, fish, turtles, rabbits, squirrels, an occasional alligator sighting in the lake areas (warm weather usually). Every time I come here, I always find something cool or new that keeps me coming back. Safe, there is a police station and military reserve located in the park near the museum. Directly across Ziegler Blvd from Mobile Japanese Gardens.

It has a waterfall and trails through the woods that I see many joggers and dog walkers utilize. Follow the trails you will come across a really cool bridge that has graffiti that is neat. Open dusk to dawn like all Mobile, Alabama parks. Good for kids, but no playgrounds or restrooms, try the park across the street for that. Good for dogs.

There aren't any signs for it leading you to it, and unfortunately there isn't an address, so you have to navigate to it from the map. There is street side parking with no organized parking lot at the trailhead; though there is a nearby parking lot or two. Disc golf is around the trail head. I don't know much about disc golf but there is a difficult shot across a gator infested pond. We enjoyed the hike. There are 1 mile, 2 mile and a 5k option. There are maps throughout the trails showing where to turn. It wasn't crowded, though there were a couple of off road bicyclists who didn't realize that they don't own the trail (and I bicycle several times a week). Part of the trail was flooded from recent rain, but otherwise it was quite an enjoyable experience.

If you are staying at the RV park you can use the area to fish even if you don't have a boat. The area is so nice because it is a combination of wild area and water. The restrooms are also nice and clean. The bathroom areas are all private. Each bathroom has a shower also. It was nice peaceful and quiet. We did get to see some gators and husband caught some fish. The park is conveniently located just a few miles from the USS Alabama ship and museum. If you want to go somewhere a little more upscale Fairhope is only an about a 20 minute drive. It is outside of town, but within minutes you have grocery and retail shopping.

I would say a medium sized parking lot. There are mobile homes surrounding this park in both good and bad condition, not too many fences, it is a rural area. I only saw one guy on the walking path, a girl and her boyfriend in a car, then a van full of kids from a local Baptist Church running to the playground. Everyone I encountered was nice and friendly. The grass was a little long, but only because Southwest Alabama has storms everyday for over a week followed by ninety degree heat, but at least this park was not muddy. The restrooms were clean and there were at least three drinking fountains near the concession area. I also saw a bird, I think it was a crane, walking around.

It has a children's play area, a nice lake, several pavilions and a bridge that leads to the Mobile Miuseum of Art. Over on that side of the bridge,they have several sculptures on the grounds. All in all, Joseph N. Langan Park is a wonderful addition to the community of Mobile, Alabama and a great place for all to gather in test and recreation. I would definitely recommend Joseph N. Langan Park and I give it five stars foe an absolutely amazing park. Go see it for yourself.
