Everything was incredibly flavorful and well-seasoned. And those biscuits! Moist, delicious, and so good with the jam. They were out of the gravy today, so I was disappointed I didn't get to try it, definitely next time! Last but certainly not least, my Bloody Mary was wonderful! We were so enamored we forgot to take pictures of the food. The décor is super cute and aesthetically pleasing, the service was on point, and the music created such a great vibe. Great brunch spot. The outdoor patio feels like you accidentally wandered into a breezy corner of the French Quarter. Warm lights, casual seating, and that "kick back and stay awhile" energy. Ordering through the app and picking up at the window makes you feel like you're part of a secret club, the kind where the password is "extra napkins, please." * Chicken Po' Boy, WOW...This thing is stacked. Crispy chicken, tangy sauce, and bread that holds everything together like it's doing core workouts. It's messy in the best way, the kind of sandwich that demands respect and maybe a bib. * Fully Loaded Cajun Tots, These tots don't play around. They show up dressed to impress, cheese, toppings, flavor, the whole squad. It's basically a tiny potato block party, and you're invited. * Beignets, very delicious, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and dusted with enough powdered sugar to make you question your laundry choices. One bite and suddenly you're hearing jazz horns in the distance. Their coffee game....Dangerously good. My boogie coffee drink - latter came out smooth, sweet, and caffeinated enough to make me consider running around the block a few times. It's the kind of drink that makes you shimmy in your seat and say, "Yeah... life is good." This place nails the New Orleans vibe without trying too hard. Great food, fun energy, and a patio that makes you forget you're in LA traffic territory. Come hungry, come curious, and definitely come ready for powdered sugar on your shirt. Miguel C.

It's a small self served restaurant with a limited menu that changes, since not everything we saw on yelp was available. When we visited the options were crispy chicken/hot link sliders, different variations of tots and beignets. We went with the crispy chicken sliders and loaded Cajun tots and they were both very flavourful and delicious. The chicken was well seasoned and crispy paired with tangy pickled vegetables and a tasty pretzel bun. The combination of flavours packed a punch but we did wish for a thicker slice of chicken. The tater tots were very well seasoned too and the sauces were yummy, something acidic would be a nice addition to cut through the fatty goodness. When we asked for utensils they didn't have any forks so they gave us one spoon and one knife. We made it work. Definitely want to come back to try other things on their menu whenever they rotate it.

FOOD: I may have to agree with others by saying Annies just may be the best soul food in LA. I enjoyed everything, especially the gravy! We ordered smothered chicken, fish, greens, rice, mac, yams, and the bread comes naturally. Good, no great flavor all around. WELL: Loved it here. Thought about also hosting a gathering here. We got the fried catfish, which was nicely seasoned and crispy, with fried okra, collard greens with smoked turkey, and gravy over rice on the side. My friend got the oxtails with mac & cheese and was probably my favorite dish we tried. The oxtail was rich and tender, and that mac & cheese with the oxtail gravy together was good. We also tried the candied yams, and later got more food to take home because we were too full, like the cornbread. Their watermelon drink was really good too, and we got ours spiked. My friend told me he likes drinking it with Hennessy, so l we had to test that theory afterward. I can confirm it was a good combo. The restaurant itself had a nice, relaxed ambiance and I really enjoyed the food. My only issue was the wait, it was way longer than expected, and I'm still not really sure what caused it. Unfortunately, that was enough for me to knock off a star. Still, the food itself was worth trying, especially if you're craving some comforting soul food. I'd come back, hopefully with a shorter wait next time. 8/10

The exterior looks like it should be, but unfortunately many restaurants have been closing in this part of the city. Luckily, it was indeed open and the interior was VIBRANT! The design was colorful, filled with hand chalked signs of the menu, and everything, from the tables to the art on the walls, burst with personality. This is a place where minimalism doesn't exist and instead, it spends every opportunity to showcase who it is. Ordering is relatively simple. You walk over to the counter and tell them what you want. Everything is made to order so it'll take some time, but when it comes to refreshments you can see their large selection of different drinks in their glass case refrigerator on the side. My junior high years inspired me and I had to get an Arizona ice tea. It came in clutch as refreshment considering how hot the day was. On one wall there was a huge TV showing the Fifa World Cup games. It caught my eye and so we decided to dine in instead of taking it to go. Great choice by the way since hot food is best to eat right away. And what exactly did I get? Their po' boys of course! You have to keep it classic. We had the popcorn shrimp po' boy and it was fantastic. Meaty, tangy from the sauce, and with the right amount of green in their fluffy but structurally intact bread, I believe I finished this in five minutes cause it was so good. My hunger didn't dissipate quickly so I had to go back for round two. The Debris Fries caught my eyes. Fries smothered with their brown gravy and cheese, it was a delicious disaster and warmed my belly and fulfilled my appetite. I was one happy food belly dad.
