Strawberry Cider is fruity and delicious!
    Patrick S.

Surprisingly good! Hotel restaurants just generally suck but not Kendrick's. Came here to make it easy and it paid off. The smash burger is crazy good. The kid next to us was here with his grandparents and said he has been having it for two meals a day...he figured it out no problem. Fries were crisp. Bacon was just the thing to take it to the next level. I had the Caesar with chicken which was also really good. The croutons are house made and just not quite as crunchy as I like. The chicken was five stars though. They bring a grilled fresh lemon to spritz the salad with and it's so perfect. Service was great. Cider recommendation was perfect. Not too busy at 7:45pm on a Saturday. At 6pm the place was packed and there was a wait. Live music was a nice accompaniment and the artist had a very enjoyable voice. We sat away from the music so we could talk but did love the background sound. This is a solid option if you just don't want to leave the hotel but want a great meal.

Happy hour beers (bought with burgers)

This review is for the happy hour burger and beer combo. I had one of the best burgers I've had in ages here! It's two smashed high quality patties, bacon, cheese, produce, special sauce, a great brioche bun and fries or a side salad. The beer selection was also very good - I had a great local lager. Service was superb and as I have a food allergy I had to ask for some extra help. Leo is an amazing server. He's kind, helpful and super good at making guests feel comfortable. Hilton is lucky to have him. I have to say I really appreciated the chef checking in with me too - everyone went above and beyond. Ambiance is clean and modern and it's not too noisy. Everything on the menu looked good but since the burger was safe for me I've eaten that twice and will continue to order it because it's so darned good!

Great food and lounge! It's a great place to just grab dinner and relax. We got the burger and truffle fries. Delicious juicy burger and truffle fries were so good that we wanted more. They had a smoked ketchup which went well with the burger and fries! Service was excellent! Friendly staff and very attentive. Love the ambiance here. So loungy and chill.

    Breakfast Menu!

Hendricks Resto-Lounge is the downtown Hilton-Based restuarant on the first (not ground) floor of the hotel. We found it a good enough source of breakfast when we didn't have a lot of time in the mornings we were in town to explore some of the other standalone brunch/breakfast places nearby. A continental breakfast is offered, or a full breakfast buffet which adds hot items and a-la-carte orderable fare like omelets etc. The main test of any breakfast place, for me, is the coffee...here it was good! They serve Starbucks coffee which they prepare correctly...i.e. it tastes strong and isn't browned water. It tasted strong here and was exactly what I needed to get my day going. We had the continental breakfast twice...basic far, I enjoyed fruit, cheese and a croissant...one time they were nice enough to let us take it go go, and a second we were seated in the comfortable, albeit smallish dining place. Service was attentive, quick and friendly. If you're there for lunch or dinner it turns into a more "regular" restaurant experience and they have several vegetarian options, helpfully labeled on their menu including a couple salads, Deep Fried Brie Cheese (!), Wild Mushroom Arancini, a vegan Roasted Veggie Bowl and all of their sides are vegetarian. They may offer a vegetarian patty of some kind on their handhelds menu but it isn't listed on their menu. Hendricks Resto-Lounge also doubles as the Hilton's Bar...The lobby is smallish and the bar seats almost make you feel like you're still in the lobby, but I'm sure you can sit slightly deeper into the restaurant with your cocktail if you'd prefer.

Very relaxing space with occasional live music. Their standard menu features well-executed, colorful dishes - very delicious. The service is genuine and attentive. The real treat for me is their Sunday brunch. They fill the side room with things like truffled lobster mac 'n cheese, crab cake eggs benedict, a table full of creative desserts and pastries, and offer made-to-order egg dishes with maple pork belly or prime rib. I love this place.

This was a lovely addition to the Hilton hotel. Right smack in the city and we had great service provided by Fernanda. I would say its a bit pricy for the amount of food however the meatballs were savory and made to perfection! Glad we found this spot.

This is located inside the Hilton Vancouver BC. It's a restaurant, but they do offer complimentary Continental breakfast for certain guests staying at the hotel. Staff seat you and bring your beverage of choice. Their coffee is delicious! The staff are all really friendly and the food options are pretty good- multiple cereals, hard boiled eggs, cheeses, fruits, and pastries/breads. We were always able to find a seat in the morning. They do have a menu if you want to order a meal instead, but that's an additional charge. There is a full service bar, too, if you're looking for alcoholic options. You can take coffee to go for $0.25- such a good deal!

Really food hotel restaurant. As you can imagine, it's a little higher priced because of that, but not outrageous. I had the pork chop- I was pleasantly surprised. Had a semi spicy peach compote on it that made the dish. The mashed potatoes and veggies were really good too. The aranchini were tasty, I wish there was a little more mozzarella, but they were good. I liked the spicy sauce with them. The poke bowls were generous and really good. Way above average for not being in Hawaii! The scallop carbonara was good, our uncle said he wished the scallops were bigger or there were a couple of more. As one who worked in hotel restaurants for years, I give them props. Good food and friendly service.

I love breakfast here! The Hilton is where my parents used to stay when they came to Vancouver to visit me so I've been here a lot to join them for breakfast. They have such a nice breakfast buffet with a great selection of really well-made breakfast items. If you're staying in the hotel it's definitely worth upgrading to the full buffet at least one of the days you go to breakfast there because the hot stuff (eggs, beans, French toast) is great and even includes access to an omelette bar, but the continental also has great options so that I don't really find myself missing the hot side of the buffet when I do get the continental. If you want "hot" breakfast but don't want to shell out the money for the full buffet, the a la carte dishes are less expensive and arguably even better quality than the buffet, and I always find them very filling. I always really like the waffles! The staff is all very nice and will take the time to chat with and get to know guests. I'm impressed that the people who have been working there for a while always remember my parents even after many months between visits. They also seem to run the restaurant efficiently so that we never have to wait long for drinks and a la carte dishes. If you're staying in the Hilton I definitely recommend going here for breakfast to take advantage of the discounted buffet, but it's a place I'd go back to for a nice breakfast even if my parents weren't staying at the hotel. I'd be curious to do dinner here someday.

We ended up at Hendricks twice on our stay at the Westin Grand. The first time we weren't planning on going there at all but our room wasn't ready so they gave us all a free drink while we waited. The bar tender was super friendly and funny. The view inside is beautiful overlooking the city streets and the inside is dark and candle lit, great ambiance! So after our free drinks they discovered it was gonna take longer for our room and added more free drinks! Score! At that point we were quite enjoying our time and decided to order some fries to snack on. They were delicious! Which leads to our second night. After a good experience the previous day we decided to actually come have dinner. We went we a zaatar appetizer to start and it was amazingly delicious! It had tomatoes and balsamic and I highly recommend it, for our main courses I ordered the grilled chicken and kale salad, my husband had the fish and chips and my daughter got fried chicken and fries. We were all pleasantly surprised how good everything was. He food was out quick and I really love the atmosphere. I'm glad our room wasn't ready the first day since it led to this place!

Very nice touch. Live flowers at the table.

We ended up at this establishment late this morning after wandering to our three other choices and finding they had an hour plus wait, or did not have the items we were searching for. We checked out the menu during our wandering and eventually settle on Hendricks in spite of it being a hotel chain restaurant. The place was very quiet at 11:30 AM likely because it's part of a Westin hotel, and the casual passer by looks at it and goes expensive, and likely not that great. Close on some parts of that thought, Hendricks offered us tremendous service from Jesse our waiter, but the food left us wishing for more. The presentation of the dishes was interesting, although salad in a metal straight sided bowl no wider than a coffee cup was a full miss. The salad tasted like metal and was very difficult to get out of the vessel. Our clubhouse's looked great on the plate, but the chicken itself tasted like those seasoned cutlets you get off the processed food trucks. It was very salty, and you add the bacon on top which is inherently salty as well, and that pretty much was the overriding taste. So food very average, the great points were the service and the interaction with those servers. Jesse was kind enough to bring us a couple of pastry's as we mentioned upon being seated how hungry we were. His quips ans conversation were the highlight of the experience. If the kitchen could get the food on point, and in vessels that are not a challenge to eat out of, they'd have something going on. The service is excellent, the food, during our one experience was well below par.

    Pork Belly (Dine Out 2023)

Dine Out Menu on Monday, January 23rd, 2023 Kind of stumbled upon this place after our initial choice was not open on a Monday. They had a $35, three course dine out menu that my wife opted for. Before getting to the food, let me comment on the service, there server who was also the bartender was great, I believe his name was Lee. Not only was he basically doing it all, but he did it with a smile and was just so personable. He also crafted me up one of the spiciest Pineapple Margaritas I've ever had the pleasure to drink. The restaurant is small and definitely has a bit of a retro European feel to it. The floor to ceiling windows that overlook Library Square across the street are gorgeous. In our many conversations with Lee, he did mention that a major renovation was coming, so I hope the powers-that-be do not alter the vibe too much, I thought it was terrific and intimate. The appetizer course of the meal was delicious; both the Arancini Pomodoro and the Tuna Crudo, were shared between and happily gobbled up. Although, the Tuna Crudo was my preference on taste, the aromatic tomato sauce with the Arancini was rich and inviting. The entrees were smaller sized plates, probably to reflect the lower price point. The Braised Short Rib was bang on and served with a scoop of mashed potato and a medley of veggies; asparagus, zucchini and peppers. The Pork Belly was a very different story, the cardinal rule of this dish was broken! The slab of Pork Belly was overcooked which causes the you completely lose all the taste and flavor, that unctuous bite you desire that is salty and crisp was just not there. Probably does not help that the Risotto beneath was also starchy and overdone. The desserts; Tiramisu Mille Feuille was golden and everything you want to smile though at the end of a meal. London Fog Crème Brulee was also great and I am normally not a tea flavored dessert kind of person but we both certainly enjoyed the finale of the meal. Worth mentioning that I don't believe anything we ate on the Dine Out menu was on the restaurants actual menu, which I found peculiar. My immediate thoughts after the meal were that I would love to eat some small share plates or handhelds and have drinks here but likely not a dinner style entrée. Just another last compliment to the guy working, hopefully I got his name 'Lee' right, totally the type of person you want impressing your guests!

My first time at Hendricks was a few days ago when I met up with my family for dinner. I really liked how the restaurant was upstairs by the lobby as it is really spacious. The decor is really nice as well and the space is invited. I was greeted by Galia and she was our server for the night. The restaurant has floor to ceiling windows where you can see the view of central library and bc stadium which we really enjoyed. My family and I basically got everything to share - we started with the "naughty bits" which were fried chicken bites tossed in a general tso's sauce, it reminded me of korean fried chicken and i liked that it came with broccoli as well , the sauce was flavourful, not spicy and the chicken crispy and juicy. Then we got the crispy rib bites which we got fried with batter and to dip with their bourbon bbq sauce, it was one of my favourite appetizers and there were lots of meat on the rib and really flavourful, the beet slaw it came with was good as well! Our last appetizer that we got was the warm chicken & kale salad which was my parent's favourite, the kale salad had this tasty peanut vinaigrette dressing along with the seasoned chicken and parmesan paired together so well, it was like an explosion of flavours and I've never had a salad like that before but I'm gonna come back for it, it was unexpected tasty. For the main courses we got the steak frites, grilled pork chop and the pan seared pacific salmon. All of the portions were more than enough for us to share as we already had tons of appetizers, and all of the entrees came with some potato side, the salmon came with mashed potatoes, the steak came with fries and the pork chop came with potato pave and of course all the dishes came with a side of grilled veggies which I really enjoyed. All of the meats for the entrees were cooked to perfection and were juicy and not dry - my favourite of all was the pork chop as I've never had it cooked like that before. For dessert, we got the creme brulee and a slice of hazlenut cake - the desserts came with fresh fruit and tasted really good too, the creme brulee was my favourite as you can really taste the caramlized flavour. Overall, the presentation of each dish was really nice and clean and our server Galia made us feel so welcomed and was really helpful. All in all, I will definitely return to Hendrick's when I'm im the area.

Their food was really good, truffle fries are quite rich and flavourful, same with the beef carpaccio. I don't think the menu mentions it comes with these sliced toasted baguettes which were topped with olive oil and balsamic glaze. Service was slightly disappointing as our service was quite flat. Two instances, both not the fault of our server, but the bar had a friend a drink in a dirty glass, she ordered a clear drink but it was brown tinged, and had a weird flavour. Multiple people at the table tried it before we told the server that it seemed off. It was slightly off putting, but our server went back and got a new one for my friend. Second thing, they said they updated their POS so for some reason the person who had the most alcoholic drinks had been put in with a really high autogratuity, but it was strange because everyone else at the party had the regular autograt of 20% I believe and the only person who was drunk ended up getting 30% or something of the sort. Our server again, amazing and took care of it working with the manager who fixed it and came to apologize but the optics of that only happening to the one drunk person if the party, well you know. Kinda left an unsatisfactory taste in everyone's mouths regarding the service. Food was still great and so was our server, and the manager who came to personally apologize about the issue.

Celebrity sightings are not totally uncommon here, the servers are all friendly and quick to bring your drinks, and you're guaranteed plenty of beautiful people eye-candy. It's also a bar targeting a slightly more mature age group with their larger disposable income - so no annoying teeny boppers knocking back B-52's here and whoohooing it up. One shocking thing I discovered on my last visit to OPUS Bar, was that they aren't allowed to do "real" bottle service there. So if you order a bottle of Goose for the table, be prepared to have your server take it away and bring it back out only when requested or when glasses start to go empty - thankfully Champagne & Wine are exempt from this strange rule.
