I hate the dentist and would give him an F IF I COULD BUT I CANT. They did a great job. The office is beautiful clean and modern. The girls in front are very pleasant. The dentist did a great job even though he literally had to DIG MY TOOTH OUT OF THE FRONT OF MY MOUTH. My already capped tooth broke off at the root. I didn't make it easy for him. My mouth was numb, , but the thoughts racing in my head of what they were doing was making me want to drive into oncoming traffic when I left the office. So yes I HATE THE DENTIST. I reported HMD to the BBB, a few months later I get a check in the mail from HMD for over $900....my refund of the crowns that Kept falling out. About a year later I started getting bills from HMD stating I owe them the same amount they refunded me. I called them to clear things up, they told me they mailed me and my credit card (Care Credit) the same check. They're saying they double paid me. Mind you I never say a $900 payment on my Care Credit account. I went all the way back from a year to see if Care Credit got that check...they never did. HMD is lying and I will be going to court because they put it on my credit report as unpaid and they are harassing me and I'm fed up with it all!!! I'm fighting back!!! read more

I started with Dr. Mugleston more than 5 years ago repairing and replacing another local dentists terrible work. He has always been upfront and honest with me. Everything he tells me comes about. He/they check my insurance benefits and works with that. The only dentist I've ever trusted. My previous review seems to have been due to their really kind attitude while "securing" a client. I came in today to get impressions made for my upper & lower partials. I saved diligently to met their down deposit amount of $407. While checking in, the front office staff acted very odd. They were talking about notes in my file between each other as if they were sending conversations to one another in my file. Out of nowhere, I was told my deposit was now $1500 Dental is very emotional for me. I've been wanting a way to eat property & feel more confident about my smile. Beware - Predatory Practice Their practice is to provide the customer a statement of services with the cost before performing any work. The office staff gives the impression that the amount listed is the total amount the customer is responsible for, and has the customer sign the document, agreeing to the cost. However, after the work has been performed and the payment made, another bill is sent for upwards of $1,000, and the office claims that the insurance company did not pay what was expected. The office takes no responsibility for not getting preauthorization, although they give the impression that they did. After all, they have you sign an agreement. Their only response is, "Maybe you can call the insurance company and get them to pay it". In addition, multiple times the copay has been made, yet a bill comes for an additional copay, which they waive, and admit their mistake when confronted. Between my family of four, we have spent over $6,000 in the last six months. We have been taken advantage of entirely. Beware that the price they give you will not be the final price, and they don't care; they want your money. If you can't pay immediately, they threaten to involve a collection agency. read more

This office will rob you and is not ashamed to do so. I work for a dental insurance company and was told my crown would not be covered. I knew it would be so I was not worried when I put down a $200 deposit, I knew I would get my money back. Insurance has since paid the claim in full and they refuse to give me my money back. Now they are stating I opted for something that was not covered, even though I did not. I have since opened a fraud case with the insurance to get my money back. Stay away from this place. I came to this dentist because the provider who performed my root canal moved to this office, and I have a 5-year warranty, so I must come here if anything happens. Now my root canal has gotten infected and needs to be redone. The reception is nice, but the dentist (provider) is unprofessional. He didn't honor his warranty and told me I was moving around (I went there because he left, and the dentist's office I visited asked me to go to the provider because he's the one who did the job). The doctor is asking me to pay again for the crown. Why do I have to pay if it's still under warranty? If I wanted to pay, why would I come here, which is far from my home? I have been going to this dentist office since I was 16. I've always loved their office but Victoria is literally the most amazing dentist I've had. She works so hard to make sure her patients are comfortable and know exactly what they are going to do. At my last visit I was unable to afford laughing gas on top of my treatment, but she provided it for free to make sure I was comfortable. She also never makes me feel bad about my teeth, like I've had other dentist do in the past. I have zero plans of ever finding a new dentist. This is a "business" dental practice. It feels like their primary focus is maximizing profit on each patient. Other reviewers have mentioned overcharging and recommending unnecessary expensive procedures and while I cannot prove that for certain, it sure feels like it. I was new to the area and got exams from different Henderson dentists. I was assigned Jeffrey Uju as the dentist who would perform the checkup. Although I had seen my previous dentist every year for the past 15 years and also had an exam from another Henderson, Mr. Uju criticized me for not taking better dental care, warned me that major problems that will happen and proceeded to write up an $18,000 treatment estimate. So his patient approach was: 1. Shame 2. Scare 3. Maximize profit My previous dentist and the other Henderson dentist I visited recommended less than half of these "necessary" procedures at less than half the costs. There was no empathy or compassion. I reviewed the practice's website for Mr. Uju's credentials. The only info he mentioned about himself is that he had recently moved to the area from Chicago. The website was not clear on which dental school he had attended or other dental practices he had been with. But there was a note that he was a "division 1 athlete." Not sure why that makes him a qualified dentist. There's also a quote from him on the website: I am committed to delivering competent and empathetic care. Together, we will create a customized treatment plan designed precisely for your needs, ensuring we achieve both the functional and aesthetic aspects of your dental journey. What a bunch of meaningless BS. No compassion, no consideration for people's budgets and zero empathy. And we didn't decide anything "together." The waiting room and exam rooms and equipment were all new and nice. The front desk ladies seemed overwhelmed with scheduling billing and insurance claims. The tech who did the X-rays did not say a single word to me other than "turn this way or turn that way." I ended up choosing Cadence Family Dental as my new dentist. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I was just sent a bill for 2022 and 2033. I tried to gather info and schedule a meeting. Haley could not be bothered to return my call in 3 business days. The FIRST bill indicated past 90 days. The math on the statement made zero sense. No explanation of charges. The sad part is I really like Paulo the hygenist and all of the dentists. Incredibly frustrating post-care policies. BUYER BEWARE. If you don't purchase a SEPARATE insurance policy on the services they provide(note--not your regular dental insurance), they will not guarantee them when they break or malfunction. I received a crown less than 2 years ago and it has already split in two. They won't guarantee their work and now I'm missing half a tooth. Lost my tooth because of neglect and inexperienced doctors, if you want to call them that. I was told that the my tooth needs a root canal because of an infection. The Dr who did the root canal left Zero body of that tooth above the gum line so they can build a crown. Next I was told they need to extract the tooth since they cant do the crown. While extracting the tooth, they left fragments inside the gum. 10 minutes after the extraction while the gum is swollen and bruised, they took an impression for the partial denture. Of course it didn't fit. They refused to pay for implant, they offered to pay for their mess and send me on my way with a mouth minus 1 tooth in the front. I should've sued. read more

Hold on to your wallet. You will go in for a simple cleaning covered by insurance and they will charge you for a different service. They don't tell you about the higher charges until you get the bill in the mail. They just want your money and they will do anything they can to get it from you. My family has been going to this dentist for years, I really like that you can get everything handled in one location (crowns made on side, specialists etc). There was a point some time ago that it was hard to get a hold of the office, but that has been addressed and you can easily get a hold of someone now. Have been going to this practice for nearby 10 years. The hygienists are top notch and Dr. Mugleston has done a lot of my actual dental work. In the process of getting a crown right now. Dr. Anderson is doing the work. The office called to reschedule my appointment to get the permanent crown because he will be out of the office on that date. I purposely scheduled this appointment because I had the day off. I asked if another dentist could do it and was told that he is the only dentist credentialed with my insurance (Aetna) to to do the crown. So the office accepts my insurance, but they never disclosed I could only see one dentist. They said others are in the process of being credentialed for Aetna. I have had several other insurances over the years and never ran into this problem at this practice before. Makes me wonder what happens if I had an emergency and the one dentist who is credentialed on my insurance was not available? Guess the joke is on me for assuming that because the office accepted my insurance that meant that all the dentists who worked there could do my dental work. Just sharing so that others are aware that the office won't disclose this information concerning what dentist you can see based on your insurance. I will be asking this question in the future in offices with multiple practitioners to be sure I won't run into this again. read more

Another Vegas area dentist that will scam you. Just like Black Mountain Dental they will tell you your gums are eroding and subject you to an unnecessary, painful, costly procedure. I'm not sure if they are run my the same company or not but it is the same scam every time. If you have generally healthy teeth and have never been told anything about your gums do not fall for this scam. If Modern Dental has scammed you report then to the Better Business Bureau and the Nevada Dental Licensing Board. Also beware because they will reschedule your appointments then charge you a $50 fee and lie stating you rescheduled your own appointment. read more

I may be dumb, but after 7 yrs, of being a patient here I woke up not to go here any more. Every time I went in for something I was given a different dentist the one I had seen the last time was no longer there. It seems to me that they stay there just to learn the business and then move on. I was there on Wed and saw a Dr. Angel I just needed to have a soft re-line on my dentures that they make up for me. He gave a price that I did not believe #464.00 and would not give me one cent discount, I left without havig it done and found another dentist that did the soft re-line for $76.00 I almost did not believe it how many other things have they ripped us off on. My wife whome was a patient there will not be going back to this rip off establishment. We have found a dentist that I feel is honest and true. It is Amber Hills Dental (702)943-0900. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, STAY AWAY! I took my son here for jaw pain that was giving him horrible headaches. The female doctor ( not naming names) said he needed 3 root canals and as a mother when you see your son in pain you will do anything to help. They showed me the x-ray and said " you see here, the nerve how it is rotted"? I did not know what I was looking at I am not a dentist. Never the less I agreed to the two that they "said" were the worst. My son had such a trauma from his experience there he cries at even thinking of going to another dentist. Turns out, he had TMJ and the root canals were not necessary (over $5,000 later). This place is all about the MONEY and they could care less of the trauma they are causing to young people. We've been going here for about 6 years now and when the new management took over it's gone completely downhill since. The owner/dentist came out when there was a discrepancy regarding what they quoted me and then what they were charging me, as they changed that amount 3 times during one visit, and completely talked down to me and degraded me. We worked through it and it was corrected so we continued to come because the dental work was good. Then my 3 kids had appointments that were scheduled 6 months ago and they canceled their appointments without any notification nor communication due to me not answering my phone to "verbally" confirm my appointment. We've never not shown up and were told it's due to people not showing up they cancel them if you don't answer your phone. Pulling my kids from school for an appointment that they canceled and they didn't send a notification but could send 3 notifications reminding us of the appointments. I explained that we've never not shown up and that it wasn't right and the lady just asked if I wanted to reschedule even though it wasn't us that canceled. This is completely unprofessional and we will be looking for a new dental office right away. read more

My new years goal was to no INCOMPETENT!!    AVOID THE PAIN. Most painful dentist experience ever, need to see another dentist to inspect & correct their work.  Scheduling was adjusted & change two-three times, every time I visited . Dentist was absent minded and needed to be reminded by her assistant during procedure to fill various cavity's.  Billings were inaccurate and still in dispute from4 /18/16 . Staff was dishonest regarding applying for credit cards and 0% intrest rates. Credit score has been damaged.  Prior to  any work there was  a mold or template taken of my bite pattern that could be used later to better match the filling/crown after the tooth had been worked on.  This mold or template had not been taken properly by one of the three dental assistance and could not be used which was stated during the drilling/grinding process which had already occurred.  So there was a LOT of grinding and trial and error. Another item that bugs me was after the work was completed on day one, there was no exit consultation, such as don't use a straw, eat, smoke or even an information packet given (The prescription was given in advance, I guess they know it was going to be hurting).  The dentist said we were done I hoped out of the chair proceeded to the check desk expecting exit information, rescheduling for the crown ect and was lucky to receive a good bye with a recommendation to reschedule. I 4/7/2016 Updated review UNBELIEVABLE. I have been coming here for years and have loved everything about this practice, until yesterday. Yesterday I had a filling with Dr. Wu at 2pm.  Someone by the name of "Florita" or something was the "assistant".  As she is holding the suction tube in my mouth I see her nodding off.  You know when you fall asleep and your body starts to fall and you catch yourself and your eyes open.  THAT IS WHAT THIS WOMAN WHO WAS WORKING IN MY MOUTH WAS DOING. I laid and watched her for a moment or two before I said something to make sure I wasn't CRAZY.  I then stopped the dentist from what she is doing.  I said I needed someone else to assist the dentist because she was falling asleep.  I was BEYOND livid.  Which anyone would and should be as I am paying money and trusting this establishment with my health and safety and this happens. The assistant goes on to say "I'm fine.  My eyes just burn." Is that why her whole body was almost falling every 4-5 seconds and then she would move the tube.  To top it off, not one person apologized for this and my procedure took almost 2 hours for 2 fillings when the dentist said it would be 30 minutes. A lot has changed at this practice from when I started going here and I sure do understand why dentists leave.  I will NEVER be back. I have referred a lot of friends and colleagues to this practice and have informed them about this and will ensure no one I know will ever be back here. I have friends who are in dentist school and other acquaintances who are dentists and they have NEVER heard of such a thing. Absolutely unbelievable! 4/15/2016 I I went to them for the 49 dollar cleaning special that was being advertised. Generally my radar is up when dental offices do these promos bc most of the time they will sneak in an extra couple hundred bucks when your in the chair on random items. After my exam which during the part where my gums and teeth values was being recorded the dentist actually was really rough and caused my gums to bleed. The cleaning was over in hurry and it was not very thorough as compared to my old dentist in Dallas. Also they gave me an estimate for alot of random services that after bringing the list to another dentist apparently I did not need. Yeah I was pretty suprised by that. So be careful and get a Second opinion on any major work. 4/18/2016 I was referred here by my dentist for a root canal. My appointment was scheduled for 10am. I arrived at the office and wasn't greeted for a few minutes. No problem. I signed in and then wasn't acknowledged until 35 minutes later. When Evelyn called me up, the had me down for just an exam. I said I was there for a root canal and they had to call and see which tooth. That did NOT make me feel comfortable. I was asked to have a seat and that I would be called back shortly. 30 minutes later, she said they had a room for me. I went to the room where I sat for another 20 minutes without anyone coming in. I left as the whole situation was entirely disconcerting and unprofessional. When I was leaving they never asked if I wanted to reschedule and the guy working the front said "I'm sorry, we didn't see you." I will NOT be returning here. Worst customer service ever. read more

The staff was very nice, however the wait times were insane and the inefficiency of how a visit goes about was more than I could figure out. After a wait time in the waiting room I was finally called back by the dentist who brought me to an exam room, introduced himself and left. I waited. In came the x-ray girl who took x-rays, verified medical history and left. I waited. Next came the girl who measured pockets and gums. She left and I waited. Dentist returned to do an exam and then he left and I waited. Then the flosser and polisher girl came in, did her bit, left and I waited again. The insurance lady came in to review the dentist's recommendations and have me sign paperwork to allow for a cleaning and decide if I wanted to shell out the money for the dentist's recommendation of more work. I signed for the cleaning and she left. I waited. The dentist returned to do an actual cleaning (no hygienist?) and left again. I waited. The flosser girl then returned to do a flouride treatment. Needless to say what is usually a cleaning by a dental hygienist and an exam by the dentist in an hour or less turned into an hour and forty minutes. Compound this by the fact that we went through this with my kids' cleanings as well and I spent 4.5 hours at the dentist office today. I'm on the search for a new dental provider. read more

took my child for a simple filling. they decided nitrous would be needed. another hour goes by and now I'm told they don't have it. I rescheduled the appointment and we came back. We waited for 30 minutes to be told they were out of oxygen this time. Decided to try with just Novocain and the dentist never came back to the room so we left. Respecting other people's time should be important. When I spoke to the receptionist she made every excuse why it's not their fault and didn't try to solve the problem. Im disgusted with this places work ethic and I'm glad they couldn't get it together. Who knows what could've happened to my child had they completed the procedure. read more

I saw Doctor Victoria Quizon for a bad tooth ache and problem I had with my tooth. She was amazing . She really took the time to examine what was wrong with my tooth and go over all the scenarios that it could be . She is a great doctor and fantastic dentist who is very energetic and really wants to help the patient , for she really wanted to make sure I got the best care possibly for my aching tooth . I really recommend seeing doctor quizon if you want to get your tooth fixed or to prevent any future tooth problems . I have been a patient here for several years. It seems as though you never see the same dentist or the last one you saw is no longer working there. Every time I go in they seem to find something I "need" that costs thousands out of pocket with insurance. My last visit I saw Dr Mindy Yip. She was very rough & gouged me during the simple examination. I've never had a dentist be so rough!!! She tells me I needed another deep cleaning (I had one less than 2 yrs ago which was very expensive), and also I needed two crowns on adjoining upper teeth that had existing fillings. She said she was "concerned I would lose these teeth!!" This area has never bothered me and I was very confused & concerned because these fillings look great & I haven't had any pain or sensitivity. Something didn't feel right so I sought out a second opinion. This new dentist told me that Dr Yip was DEAD WRONG!!!! She was recommending something that I absolutely DID NOT NEED!! He was very troubled that a dentist would be so unethical as to not only recommend unnecessary & costly procedures BUT lie to me and insist I was going to "lose" my teeth if I didn't let her do the crowns on them. Great experience, service at front office assistance, and Johanna Montes (the hygienist) were soft hands a great dental experience in a long, long time. No wonder is hard to make an appointment with her she is very busy, but I overheard a person (patient) at the waiting area, had a similarly great experience with another hygienist. Dr. Mugleston is by far the greatest dentist I have ever been to. He is innovative and his work is superlative. The staff is excellent as well. More specifically, I was told by two different dentist that I did not have enough bone structure for an implant. Not only did Dr. Mugleston place an implant in my mouth (when other dentist said it was impossible) but he did it in 20 minutes!! I was astonished. I have since referred my daughter to him for extensive dental work. She was told she would need much more work than Dr. Mugleston quoted (which lends itself to his honesty) but once again he performed the work quickly and painlessly!! I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT DR.
