I can no longer recommend Ascend Dental Studio in Henderson. They seem to have let go of the best people who made the place worthwhile. The professional, kind, and truly caring staff--including Dr. Matt, Tracey, and the hygienist--are gone, and the quality has suffered dramatically as a result. I recently went in for a routine cleaning. During the procedure, I was told I had to wear the black plastic protective glasses, or I wasn't welcome there and should leave. When I explained to Dr. Timothy Luong that I'm severely claustrophobic and have a history of panic attacks from previous life-threatening surgeries, he showed zero empathy. He didn't listen to my concerns at all--he simply insisted on the glasses and, when I couldn't comply due to my medical condition, asked me to leave immediately. This complete lack of compassion and accommodation for a legitimate health issue was shocking and unacceptable. No effort was made to discuss alternatives or understand my situation. I felt dismissed and disrespected as a patient. I will never step foot in Ascend Dental again and strongly advise others to think twice before choosing this practice. Dr. Luong, hygienist Vanessa, and everyone in the entire office made this as painless and worry-free as possible. This place has nothing to do with health care, except weight loss, After all the additional cost from your original quote, unnecessary repeated x rays, and fraudulent billing, you will not be able to afford to eat, If you can manage to afford a meal,,you will not have teeth to chew your food. It's been a year, and they still have not finished a procedure that should have taken 5 months. The procedure was paid in full in cash, because they claimed my insurance did not pay, but my insurance did pay, Now it's week three, and my refund has still not been issued. They can extract teeth and that"s about it, They screwed up the denture twice, 1 implant failed, multiple billing errors, and still have not rescheduled to fix anything, and now are refusing to refund my money, so I can have a real dentist fix all of their mistakes. Go to the bento board on line, file a complaint, shut them down. Don't use Matthew Marrujo DDS, who longer works at Ascend. Dishonest, and a fraud! read more

This place is garbage. They will give you false quotes, and then add additional cost. They will tell you that your insurance didn't cover the cost, regardless. Between my insurance and my fees. Nearly 8000.00 have been paid for services not provided. I was promised a refund, and now they are failing to pay me my refund which is nearly $3500.00. I have paid cash for two implants, my insurance paid $2500.00 for the same two implants. One implant failed, because it was not placed into bone. It simply fell out. The dentist said it failed because there must be "something wrong with my blood." So I guess the blood on the left of my jaw is different than the right side of my jaw. Well over a year, and I have got no results. No call backs, and refusal to co operate. This office is incompetent. Any issue, you might want to go to dental school, and do it yourself. It will take less time and cost less. I had a previous relationship with this company and was told they take care of their own. Meaning they would take care of me. Well I couldn't imagine how they treat people that they do not know. I am a very tolerant person, I have only ever written one other review in my life. This place is crap! None of the original dentists, hygienist still there. The turnover is herendous. You have to ask them to wash their hands. Really? The dentist I went to for 15 years, Dr. Barton was The Best, he retired and it was one dentist after the other, one person after another at the front desk. The only ones that were great, were Lori and Bobbie, they went somewhere else. The place is pathetic now, they charge you for procedures that weren't completed. I called them to let them know, I also called the dental insurance to let them know. That's fraud. They are the reason our health and dental insurance is so high. Now they have 2 other dentists. Just had a remarkable first visit at Dr. Tozzi's office this morning. I had an unfortunate situation last night where a filling I had put in a few years ago was starting to fall out and was causing some pain & discomfort. Luckily, Dr. Tozzi's office was able to take me in today and fix my issue! I had x-rays done, an exam, and my filling fixed, all in about an hour! The best part was even though I have no insurance, my out-of-pocket expense was extremely reasonable! The office was super clean and modern with fun little toothpaste & toothbrush pulls for the cabinets. I interacted with about 5 people, including Tom who performed my dental work. Every single person here is unbelievably friendly and welcoming, easing any sort of anxiety one might have when going to the dentist. Called the clinic weeks in advance, shared my insurance details and requested for a cleaning. Upon arrival they said they can't do cleaning an inspection on the same day. And this was not conveyed when I called to book, I got my inspection done and rescheduled cleaning. On the day of the cleaning, the staff reviewed my X-ray and said they'd need a deep cleaning, something that was missed doing the initial inspection. They also informed me about additional out-of-pocket, something that wasn't discussed during the first visit or the phone call. They want me to go back a third time for the deep cleaning appointment. Not sure how they manage new patient with this is definitely one of the most mismanaged dental offices I've been to. BAD EXPERIENCE. Dentist & staff were not nice. Paid $200 for xrays & a removal. Not removal happened. Confirmed need for the removal and supplied only a referral. No effort to contact a surgeon for me. When i did contact their surgeon it was a one month wait. Found my own surgeon. Then Tozzi REFUSED to send over the xrays. 45 minutes later they send it, but i paid for another set & the removal. Horrible experience. read more

I initially had a good experience with this practice. I have no complaints with my dental work. I do have major concerns with Dr. Tozzi's handling of financials. I noticed that I should have received a refund because I was overcharged for services. I then requested a ledger and found that my credit had been written off at as a "debit adjustment" to zero out the ledger. I called my insurance provider to make sure my copays were correct & that I should be owed money. Only then did they admit I was owed a refund. I'm not ok with this! The first thing I had asked Dr. Tozzi before she started my procedure was to show me her hands. I was told there were so tiny and gentle that you don't even know they are in your mouth...totally correct. I went in for 1 of 4 procedures so far. I am having all my old metal fillings as well as all of my very old crowns replaced. Today I had 3 fillings and 1 crown replaced so far. Now some background on me...I don't like Dentists. Nothing against them as a person, I would just rather spend my life with a Piña Colada in one hand and a Dorito in the other rather than have someone drilling, poking and prodding my mouth, but unfortunately I had to put on my big boy pants and see Dr. Tozzi. Wow! From the shot, to the drillings, to even the staff's presentation as I walked in I felt like I was playing in a room with a big bag full of silk puppies. I felt so comfortable from start to finish. I hate going to dentists but I look forward to my next appointment with Dr. Tozzi. read more

Thanks have been experiencing severe TMJ pain after recent dental work at a different practice. I called Dr. Tozzi's and they were able to get me an appointment right away. The staff were all so welcoming. Dr. Tozzi gave me some great advice and injected Botox as I requested. She was kind and knowledgeable about TMJ and malocclusion. I highly recommend her. read more

Her bedside manner immediately puts you at ease. Her front office staff is so friendly and welcoming, they treat you like family. I travel 45 minutes to go to this dentists, because Lori the receptionist always call me the day before and is so friendly and helpful, She always let me know when I 'm due for check ups. The always on time and the dentists never hurt me. The other day I broke a tooth and they took me the next day and saved me a lot of money because I had the tooth and they put a rod in and replaced the tooth. In all the service is outstanding. As much as i like Michaela Tozzi, it's bad enough she doesn't even see her patients because she works only on cases. I called in September and they didn't have an appointment earlier than March. What is this? I agreed to see a different dentist because I do believe that Michaela Tozzi would hire qualified dentists. I was able to get an appointment only in October still had to wait for a whole month. On the day of the appointment (12pm) I had a prior appointment (no other date or time was available) and there was a delay on their end that was beyond my control. Because of that I was running late for my dentist appointment, so i messaged the office to let them know. There was nothing I could do, the circumstances were beyond my control. It took me 45 minutes to get there because the prior appointment I had was in summerlin. I arrived at 12:15 which is also when I got a call from the office as I was parking. They said they will see what I can do. When I got in the office at 12:16 they said to wait and then told me they can't see me. I feel so disappointed and upset. There was not even a drop of compassion for my situation, the staff couldn't care less. I understand I was late, but there's no need to book people back to back people because life happens just like it did today with me. Why is it that it's always okay for patients to wait for their doctors for hours sometimes, but a patient can'l never be late? I feel it wrong what happened today and I feel defeated. I go out of my way to stay with this dentist and they don't offer any flexibility or compassion. I think it's time to find another dentist. read more

I always get great care and service here. I'm currently on Medicaid as I entered a new career field and am finishing school. I know longer have insurance coverage here and when I had a tooth emergency I was afraid to go to the poorly rated Medicaid locations. I opted to go for a consultation with Dr. Tozzi. They quoted me a great out of pocket price and the fix was done at the consult. I came back because I love them but I did not expect the consult to go that well. I left with my tooth fixed and money still in my pocket. The office has options too for larger fixes when insurance isn't doin the job. read more
