I am the kind of person who pays close attention to details, especially when it comes to insurance and billing. After I received my Explanation of Benefits from my insurance, I noticed several issues and called the insurance company to verify. They confirmed that my concerns were valid. The main issue was that my secondary insurance had been billed as the primary insurance. Delta confirmed they had no record of my primary insurance on file, only a note stating that I had another insurance plan. I worked with a Delta representative, and they explained that everything would need to be resubmitted either by the dental office or through a claim filed by me. When I brought this to the office staff's attention, I was not looking for an argument. I was simply trying to point out the issue so they could review it and correct the billing. Unfortunately, the staff became defensive and rude. That experience is what ultimately caused me to lose trust in the office after being a patient there for five years. To be clear, this review is not about the doctor's performance. My concern is strictly with the billing process and the way the office staff handled the situation. A billing mistake can happen, but how it is addressed matters. Patients should feel heard and respected when they bring forward legitimate concerns. read more

I have been a patient at this office since around 2021, and I have witnessed many positive changes and improvements over time, including the move to a new location and the addition of wonderful new staff. I just started going to Dr Athari after my last dentist retired and I'm so happy to have found him. He provides an extremely detailed and patient forward service. He was very thorough and explained everything going on with my teeth and did not make me feel like he was pushing me to do anything I wasn't ready for. After my initial visit, I moved forward with his recommendation for a crown and tooth extraction. During the procedure I felt overwhelmed and began to have a pretty intense anxiety attack. Dr Athari was so kind and patient with me and was able to talk me through the procedure. I was extremely grateful of this as I was feeling pretty embarrassed for being so difficult in the process. The level of care that he provided and consideration is very difficult to find from most providers. He took the time to explain every step of the process to put me at ease and was extremely gentle. I felt no pain at all. I will be recommending Dr Athari to everyone I know! I've also gone for a cleaning and the dental hygienist, Veronica was the best I've ever worked with. She was just as patient, kind, and gentle as Dr Athari. I usually dread getting cleanings but she made it virtually painless and easy. We came here last year when we first moved here due to not knowing any of the dentists around here and he takes our insurance so hey what the heck give it a try. My had he appointment first and raved about how well cared for she was. Let me explain one thing here I HATE DENTISTS with a purple passion, so off I go praying it wasn't going to hurt me or my wallet to badly. I walked in to the office and was shocked to see nobody waiting (briefly thought they were closed) I was immediately greeted by the office person and almost before I could sit down another lady called me for my x-rays. I was then guided to the dental chair and Dr Anthari went over tooth by tooth what was needed. I had an MRI ( never heard of a tooth mri?) And then was given telephone # for my root canal (endodontist) oh joy. I can not say enough good things about these folks, I have never been to a dentist I like this much. I've been seeing Dr. Athari for five years. He is the best dentist I've ever experienced. He ensures you're comfortable and comfortable explains everything. He isn't one out to take your money on procedures that aren't needed. There was one time that I paid to get my daughters fluoride but couldn't afford mine. Wow! What a difference. In the past 15 years, I have visited 3 dentists, prior to meeting Doctor Athari. All three of them were terrible. The first had an assistant standing over me coughing with no mask on. The second, dragged his tools across my teeth. And finally, the third, dropped my crown into my mouth at least six times. I stopped counting after that. It was bizarre. With Doctor Athari, I finally feel like I have found a dentist that is extremely competent, and professional, and his craftsmanship is stellar. *sigh* Finally. Please read my fist review, because I had nothing bad to say about Dr Athari or his services. I tried to make an appointment when I was in town in April, but he had a few month waiting time. So this time I called a few months before I'm coming into town. I am updating and marking down only because he no longer does the cleanings himself. I guess word got out and he just got super busy and now he hires a hygienist to do it for him. I did not make an appointment, so they may be wonderful at cleanings, so I am not knocking that person either. But my original raving review was all for Dr Athari and now you can't even see him. I got such a horrified experience with my deep cleaning teeth at this office. I gave 3 stars for the good service for the first time general dental check up & customer care. At my first day of deep clean, Sonia was helping me & she is so nice & did a very good job with no pain but at my second day, I had Jenifer, she is so rough on me. She tried to numb my gums & every needle from her it is counted. During the procedure, I could feel on my gums & it hurts badly to make my eyes watery. Dr. Athari's practice is as good as it gets. He takes patients one at a time and really takes the time to explain the entire process to you and walks through his procedure and analysis. I knew I had a developing root canal issue but I decided to changed dentist due to a rough root canal experience at my previous dentist. Dr. Athari was fantastic. The operation was super smooth and painless, especially for a root canal. He even called 3 days after the surgery to check up. Additionally, the facility is top notch. Clean and open. There were multiple TVs that he would use to address x-rays and photos with you, TVs to watch something and a TV on the ceiling that provided a great distraction during the process. 5 stars is not enough for Dr Athari! I hadn't been to the dentist in over 30 yrs (don't judge!) and was totally expecting the worse. I don't know if 3 extractions are always painless but this time it was. But that's not why I'm giving 5*. It's because of the professionalism and "bed side manner" of the entire staff. I would like to preface my review by saying I am not a huge fan of dentists...now with that said, Dr. Athari was outstanding. I have not had this experience before from a dentist where he was warm, caring, told me everything that was going to happen, up on technology and didn't make me feel bad because I didn't take care of my teeth! I had a wisdom tooth extracted and I have no insurance. I fully expected to come back and have the tooth extracted (I thought it would be a regular extraction and not a wisdom..sad for me) but he was able to do it right then and right there. IN UNDER A MINUTE! I was absolutely blown away. Very little pain, very little bleeding, very little time. My appointment was at 2:15 and I was walking out the door by 3pm, toothless! I live close to the Centennial area and drove all of the way to Henderson and it was worth it. Dr Athari is probably the best dentist I have ever been to! He has all the latest equipment and seems to have a great system for photographing and showing and explaining exactly what he is doing. He makes me feel so comfortable. You really feel like you have his undivided attention. The TV above the chair is a wonderful distraction. I really like his hygienist Cindi too. I have been neglecting my tooth for almost a year now. It's like never the right timing to pay my dentist a visit, even though I received 2 reminders that my visit was due. The other day I was at work when my left side of the head started hurting and pulsing so bad! I wasn't able to concentrate or even think. I have never experienced a pain like that. I reached out to Dr. Athari and he said that was an infectious pain and to come straight to the office. Dr. Athari took care of my emergency situation within an hour the pain was gone!
