Well first upon arrival at the office I was meet with an extremely polite , attentive office represenative, that had me sign in and that the staff would be right with me. I had arrived about 15 minutes early, and was taken back to get started with my appointed time, and procedures. Dr. Nisson's assistant greeted me directed me to a room, and got me seated, and asked what I wanted to watch on the multiple TV's. I observed all of the new equipment and, cleanliness of the office, very up-todate facility. At that point Dr. Nisson entered the room greeted me like family, and explained the procedures for today. Everything was painless, and I was on my way.The staff members that checked me out were very professional, made my follow up appointment, and Finished. Today, Dr Newton repaired some tissue area where the gum line receded with a filler that was exposed. The color was exactly spot on and looks better than my original teeth looked before. There was zero pain and he didn't use any numbing agent at all. Dr. Newton is by far an expert in his field along with his two fellow colleagues as well as everyone else who makes their office tick like clockwork! My first visit was so welcoming and pleasant! I have my cleaning in a few days and I'm actually kind of looking forward to it! So relieved to not have any cavities and for my gums to be healthy as I had to undergo periodontal maintenance a few years back. I'm hoping I can get braces or Invisalign to help with the crowding in my teeth so I'll be going to the orthodontist they referred me to. read more

I made an appointment in November to have an exam and cleaning. When I got there I was taken in to have the cleaning done. I was told that I had to have x-rays. She took a complete series and cleaned my teeth. When she was finished she took my credit card for the full payment of the bill. Then she told me I was done. I ask about the exam and she said the dentist was busy. Then why did I need the x-rays if no one was going to look at them? A month later I received a bill from them for $39. When I took it into the office I was told they didn't charge me enough. If I had know that I was not going to see a dentist for an exam I would Never have agreed to expensive X-rays. Beware of what you agree to with this place, and make sure they don't charge you more after you leave. I got copies of my X-rays and told them I would find another Dentist. read more

My husband and I have used AVD for many years. When we first moved from the NW part of the Valley to Anthem, we tried a different dental practice with very bad results. We saw AVD's ad in the Sun City Anthem publication and noticed that all three dentists are graduates of USC which we know to be a good dental school. Their office is very close to our house, so we tried them. We've been happy with them, the hygenists and office staff ever since. Everyone is professional. The new office is beautifully decorated without being fussy. They offer a discount to seniors who do not have dental insurance. I have never had to remind them; they always remember to give me the discount. I can't help but wonder if "Shannen L" has reviewed the wrong dental practice. There is another similarly named practice. The reason I think this: I lived in Panamá for one year. The dentist there recommended work for both me and my husband. We were suspicious because we see Dr. Timpson regularly; and couldn't imagine that problems had developed so quickly. During the year I lived in Panamá, I vacationed in Vegas for three weeks during which time I returned to AVD and asked if I did in fact need to have the amalgam filling replaced. "No." I said "The dentist in Panamá said it's leaking." The response "No, it's not." I even said that I'd be in town 2.5 more weeks and wanted to have the filling replaced here, not in Panamá, even though it would cost more here. I gave the dentist at AVD every opportunity to replace the filling but he declined, saying it wasn't necessary. My husband and I returned to Henderson after 13 months of living in Panamá; and then we returned to AVD. We've been back in the States for over two years now. Neither of us is in need of the work the dentist in Panamá suggested. He simply saw a chance to get his hands into the pockets of "rich Americans." (We are far from rich. I wish we were rich. But the perception is that all Americans are rich.) Anyhow, for that reason, I just can't believe that any of the three dentists at AVD recommended unnecessary work. Earlier this week, I had a cosmetic procedure done (prior to this, I've only had dental cleanings as a patient). Dr. Timpson did an excellent job. When I first had my consultation weeks earlier, he explained everything thoroughly and discussed various options with me. The day of the procedure, he let me know what was happening step by step. My previous dentist of 10 years retired and I picked Anthem Village Dental to be my new provider based on their location. In the previous 10 years I didn't realize how much the office staff at my old provider, Augusta dental, helped me make sure I was getting my exams and cleanings based on what my insurance covered. Anthem Village dental did NOT help me the same way. Without getting into details, I just warn all to keep track of what services they are providing and what your insurance covers as their staff will not do it for you. read more

Very clean and nicely decorated dentist office! Came in as a new patient and only had to pay $75.00 to do some X-rays which I thought was cheap... all of the staff from the front to the back were very helpful and friendly. The doctor was fantastic and explained what needed to be done...before walking out I was able to go over what work I needed on my teeth along with the payment with a very friendly lady behind the counter. I'm going to be coming back in a few weeks to get some teeth taken care of and I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a dentist office. read more

I was so embarrassed to open my mouth since it had been so long since my last cleaning but April (dental assistant) was so comforting as she did a full mouth xray and then Dr. Timpson came in and was so absolutely amazing. I tried switching dentists due to moving from the other side of town. What I thought was going to be x-rays and a cleaning, turned out to be a very uncomfortable dentist visit! Coming from someone that brushes 3 times a day and flosses at least once a day, this dentist tried telling me that I would need to come back for 2 separate cleanings, one for the bottom and one for the top. He informed me that I would have to be numbed and each cleaning would take 1.5 hours!! After that, he proceeded to lecture me for 10 minutes about my teeth. I felt so uncomfortable that I was almost in tears on my way out. I immediately made an appointment with my old dentist whom I have been going to for over 10 years, and upon examination was told I did NOT need all these extra procedures this dentist was trying to push on me. I also got a regular cleaning that same day! Shame on this dentist for trying to push extra procedures on people in order to pad his own pockets. I'm sure I'm not the only one. Obviously I will not be returning as I do not do business with dishonest people. read more
