Reasonable, honest plumber who does excellent work!…read more On June 6, 2026, I was in the Bronx helping a family with a water leak in their nearly 100-year-old house. This review is 1.5 months late because I wanted to be sure that the repairs made by Felip at GME Plumbing held up after he completed the plumbing work. I took pictures and sent them to Felip and he provided a reasonable estimate which included parts and labor, so we hired him. Felip and his helper did excellent work, left the place clean, and took away the rubbish. We paid the price in his estimate; there were no surprise extra charges. He 1) Repaired a leaking shower, replaced seat of valve with a special tool. Two previous plumbers only changed the washers and the leaks never stopped. 2) Replaced washing machine valves located behind shower wall. 3) Removed an old leaky toilet and replaced it with a new toilet. It's been over a month since the repairs were completed and there have been no leaks. The water bill is 40% less because of the repairs Felip made. We are very happy with Felip's work and will definitely use him again should we have further plumbing issues.

He said that it would be too dangerous to try and re-light the pilot light of the 5 year old water heater and that it would be safer for me to hire him to dispose of the old one, pick up and install a new one. He gave me a quote of $2600. Another plumber referred by a friend came and took a look after and safely assessed that the water heater was still working and safe to use and he re-lit the pilot light for me for $75. The other plumber actually laughed out loud when I told him the estimate that Adam gave me. He could not believe that I was given an estimate of $1900 for labor to install a 50 gallon water heater that cost about $750. Always comparison shop, ALWAYS. New faucet for the kitchen and I also needed a new master valve for the water coming in to the house along with replacing some additional old valves in the basement.
