We called Hemlock a week before we left our wedding overseas in a bind, we needed to get three bar signs (we had the fabric and dtf transfer sheet). I walked in and immediately Dan and his team were there to help us. He brought me back into the warehouse and tried several times to make sure it was perfect, spending about an hour of his time on his own wedding anniversary just to make sure we were happy with the outcome. It was turned out to be $75 for all three menus to be cut and printed which I thought was fanatic value, especially with how desperate we were for help. I'm really not a review person, but I feel like I need to warn people about this company since my experience was a nightmare. They don't check orders for correct quantity and print quality, and have questionable customer service. Here's what happened: -I placed my order more than two weeks in advance, per their guidelines. -They began my job the day it was due (a Friday). I expressed my concern about the quality given the rush, and was promised that the shirts would be perfect. -They also close at 3:00 on Fridays, and rushed out rather than staying a little later to check my order. -There were issues with a quarter of my order. Some burnt on the press (they told me), some were smudged, some off-center, some skewed, some lacked a whole color, and some were missing. -When I brought up these concerns, they blamed it on my choice of metallic ink. There was no mention that metallic ink is troublesome, and the fact that 75% of my order was perfect indicated that they have the capability to print it. -Luckily there was time to print more before my event. In the second order, many were still messed up, and one was still missing. Not counting 92 shirts is one thing, but not counting 23 for an already-dissatisfied customer is unacceptable. This meant one person did not have a shirt to wear at our event, which she was really bummed about. -After people washed theirs for the first time, many reported that the ink had gotten significantly messed up in the wash. We want these to last (people still wear the 1987 version which still looks great). -Hemlock agreed to reprint the messed up ones, but made me feel like I was inconveniencing them by commenting on how long it takes to set up the press. They took a long time reprinting them. -I finally received the last one three months after I had placed the order, as well as the reprints. I chose Hemlock because I liked their vibe and the sample shirts looks great. Our shirts look beautiful, but I am not confident the ink will last. They did make the initial errors up to me financially, which is good, but the whole thing was a huge hassle. I have to use my own money to ship the reprints that people have been asking me for for weeks/months. The lack of quality control and their insistence that the print errors were uncontrollable left a bad taste in my mouth, and I will not be using them again. read more

Highly recommend Hemlock Ink. My husband and I run a local art based t-shirt company and this is the 3rd printer we have used in our hunt for the perfect printer. The pricing is competitve, t-shirt and print quality is great. They also offer a few different types of printing which is cool (traditional silk screen, water based discharge printing and now direct to garment printing). So far we have had both a water based discharge print and a DTG print done and both came out great!! Also the staff was very helpful and responded quickly to all e-mails. My first experience was ordering t-shirts for my team for the warrior dash. It was about 30 t-shirts in varying men's & women's sizes. The quality of the t shirts were amazing, along with the print quality. I worked one on one with Dan to find the best lettering, color scheme & shirt fabric for the t-shirts. I had 2 major issues with Hemlock's work: 1) I own a small business in cambridge and was looking for some t-shirts for an event. In looking at their website it seemed that Hemlock had some stylistic sense and perhaps could help me design a cool looking t-shirt with my company logo. In going into the store and asking for this help, I did not feel the individual I worked with (who I believe owned the company) had this skill set. I received no help in picking out a shirt or designing the t-shirt. he actually made me sit down at his computer and place/size the elements for the shirt myself. I literally could have gone on any t-shirt design website and done this from the office (which I eventually did after receiving my Hemlock shirts) for a much cheaper price. 2) upon picking up my shirts 2 weeks later (I was in no rush so it was fine) the image on the back of the shirt was very weak or faded. It almost looked like their printer was running low on ink. when I brought this up, the individual in the office said that must be how the image file I provided them looked. I asked him to pull up the file and we both agreed that the image file was a much richer color than the t-shirts. The office individual could not explain why there was an difference and then actually said to me, quote "what do you want me to do about it?" in an aggravated tone. seriously, this individual should have immediately offered to re-run the shirts. he gave me a take-it-or-leave it attitude so I just left and ultimately threw the t-shirts away after finding a higher quality producer (who turned out to be cheaper by the way). sorry for the long message, but I believe companies like this should be called out. I will not be giving Hemlock any more business and I suggest you find an alternative company as well. I guarantee it will save you time, money and frustration. read more

Easy to work with and t-shirts came out great. The print came out well and t-shirts are a decent quality. This store may cost a little more than its competitors but the final product is worth the extra money. The store itself is a cool place and resembles a tattoo parlor. I feel bad giving a poor review to a local small business, but Hemlock Ink did not do a good job. I ordered 6 t-shirts. When I picked them up, the package only had 5 shirts in it. I would not have known that one was missing except that I decided to check the printing. While I was commenting that the ink was blotchy on one of the shirts, I realized that there was a much bigger problem -- one shirt was missing. The guy who was helping me went in the back and found the mangled shirt in the garbage. I can't believe that they would have just handed me the package with the wrong number of shirts and not mentioned it. Once he realized the problem, he offered to print an additional shirt, but didn't have the color or style of T-shirt I had ordered. So, I did get the 6th shirt in the end and they get 3 stars for attempting to fix the problem. And, to his credit, he offered to refund the whole order. I said that wasn't necessary, but would like to get a refund for the 1 shirt. That never happened. read more

Pretty easy to deal with. Gave them our logo and they put it on shirts! Dealt with other companies and the past and def did not get what we wanted. Came across them and they were able to produce.
