I ordered a set of tires and was told they would arrive in 4 days. After a week, no tires and I was told everyday that "they will arrive tomorrow. Two weeks in and still no tires. A refund was offered and I agreed. I went to another tire store and ordered the same tires, and they called in 24 hours to tell me they were in. A total of 26 hours after ordering I was back at home with the new tires on my truck. I have been waiting for over two weeks for my refund. Helton doesn't seem to be interested in processing the refund. I will never do business with these con artists again. This is now the fifth week of this ordeal. It looks like I may have to take it to an attorney to get my money back. This ridiculous. Avoid this sham of a tire store! Caveat Emptor. read more

I took my Toyota Tacoma to North Georgia Toyota for a routine service. They told me I needed $1,600 worth of front end work done. I took it to Helton for a second opinion and they said there was nothing wrong with the front end of my truck. I switched my service to Helton. Since then, I have bought new tires, had a complete brake replacement and they have been servicing my truck. I am very happy with their service. There is a competing company in Varnell giving them fake 1star reviews. Don't fall for them. read more

Helton Tire and Offroad with its original crew was once a great shop but now that's not the case. I have a little over 10k in receipts for parts for a OBS 7.3 truck built that ultimately never happened and I had to pull it out of Helton's shop. My tires I had ordered for my build somehow disappeared (about $1800). I was told by Colt that they would reorder and i would have them soon, that he knew I was owed a set of tires. Fast forward to when the tires were supposed to come it and gives me the excuse that FedEx didn't show two days in a row. His Offroad Manager then calls me and says he tried to make it look like I never bought tires in the computer system and that he would personally reorder them for me. Thanks to Johnny I didn't get screwed over, have nothing but great things to say about the original staff or Johnny but i wouldn't trust Colt with a single penny. All he does is lie and intentionally try to rip people off. I also have another 4K in receipts where they completely redid my Ford Ranger underneath and within 6 months the entire front end fell apart. . No alignment pins in the control arm, and passenger side was hand tight.unless you want to get the run around and get rippped off I suggest you go anywhere but Helton, Colt is not to be trusted read more

if I could give zero stars I would have... I took 1994 van I was getting ready for trip across the country took it to Helton they quoted new tires new brakes break line and a tune up.. long story short the only thing that they did right were the tires... I broke down in Memphis and had to tow it to Texas.. I found honesty mechanic they found I was charged for work that was not preformed the original plugs and plug wires were still in the van ... brake master cylinder was bad and not replaced.. it cost me 800 for the tow to Texas and then 2300.00 to fix there mess... they are dishonest and I will never ever do business with them ever again... I did get some satisfaction several months later I went in to there shop and confronted them with the bag of parts on a busy Friday after noon ... read more

Good people who do great work. I've been there with as simple as a flat tire that needed fixing, bought sets of tires for various vehicles, a 4WD lift for my jeep, and so forth. Customer service is awesome and they have amassed quite a collection of curiosities and photos from Dalton history. Have a 2020 Camry se 2.5L 4 cyl got an oil change not too long ago and just recently went to crank my car and seen oil pouring out everywhere under the car. Had it taken to Toyota to check everything out had the wrong oil filter put on first of all and no oil drain plug gasket big waste of money.should get a refund and money for the dealership to fix it. read more

Please update your hours on Apple Maps. It says you close at 7pm and I had a flat tire you could've changed in under 10 mins but decided not to, only 50 mins "before closing". I arrived at about 6:09 pm. Everyone still there. Y'all could've just told me straight up shop was closed but proceeded to make me waste my time and tell me to ask for a price to the reception lady. Who was mingling with another older folk and had no interest to attend me. NO SYMPATHY AT ALL.... Your customer has a flat tire and every one is still on the job why was it so hard to change ONE tire???????? You were the closest tire shop and literally refused while more than 4 people were still mingling around the shop acting like children. Although I am not surprised this business has poor reviews. You guys don't go above and beyond for your clientele and it's sad since you guys have so much "hype"..... I don't understand the hype. God bless their souls, seemed like the most two faced people. Couldn't of asked for better service from the guys at Helton Tire! My wife needed her tires rotated quickly before heading out of town and they delivered quickly and got her car in and out in less than 30 minutes. A competitor of there's in town quoted me high and was over a 2 hour walk in wait time. These guys are awesome and great to have servicing the Dalton, GA area. Thanks for everything! read more

So my caliper bolt fell out of my passage side of my 2015 Sierra yesterday morning and damaged the caliper. Took it to HELTON TIRE to have it replaced and to have them check out why my truck was pulling to the right.....$2,600 later they said I had to replace lower control arm, ball joint, tie rod, multiple boots, new brakes"BOTH sides was already brand new tho", BOTH Rotors"both sides was already brand new" and OWNER said truck would had been fixed by 5pm that day, I got there and was told by the technician that it would be maybe lunch the following day"today" guess what....got the truck back and still has a slight pull...BUT hey atleast the caliper bolt did get changed. Talked to other mechanics and they all said the same thing most of that work wasn't needed and just a cash grab. And the parts should had only costed $700 max for all that. owner said he "moved mountain for me" bc his guys didn't wanna work on my truck. read more

Used to go here and guy with wheel chair was welcoming but recently went for an oil change and the owner Colton I believe is His name was extemley rude I wanted a normal non synthetic oil change he charged me for the 60 dollar one and said do u like your car or not . I replied well I do like my job and paid to avoid awkwardness with other customers in the room and walked away. ne Or my family will no longer support Helton sadly we do miss the previous owner those vibes I will always remember god bless read more

I hate giving poor reviews for such nice people but my experience needs to be shared. I could just be an anomaly, but I will not use Helton again. I took my tundra in for some suspension work (new leaves in rear springs, adjust front suspension, air bags), tires, and an alignment. When they got it on the rack, the tech said he couldn't get the tie rod loosened and my rod ends need to be replaced and it would be $600. I begrudgingly agreed (knowing what they cost and the ease of installation). I picked up the truck and the air bags were installed incorrectly, I pointed it out and they corrected it. I took it home and noticed one of the retainer bolts on the leaf springs was missing, upon inspection the remaining retaining bolts were only hand tight! The rest of the work appeared to be correct from what I could see. 5 months later I realized the alignment was so bad, it ruined a $350 tire. When I went back they wanted to charge me over $100 just to look at the alignment! I know you can't warranty an alignment, but you can stand behind your work. Taylor Tire was able to align the truck correctly and replace the tire. Sorry guys, but it's the truth. read more

Helton Tire was so helpful for me today! I don't know much about cars and they willingly called my dad to discuss what was going on with my tire and helped out with some other stuff I had going on. We bought tires from there thinking we were getting good tires 1 month later the tires worn bald and wires showing okay we called them and explained what's going on said bring it in take back down there for them to tell me that's my fault the guy got in my face nose to nose pointing his finger in front of my kids and told my to get her fat butt in the car worst experience would not recommend anyone read more

We bought tires from Helton a couple months ago. I took my car in this past Tuesday for rotate and balance. When they got done with my car, I pulled out of the parking lot and my right front tire almost came off, I had to immediately pull back into the parking lot. They apologized and sent me to the waiting area while they "tightened it up". They came back and reassured me that it was fixed and they double checked all tires and sent me on my way. On my drive home, when I got up to around 45-50 mph my steering wheel started to shake slightly. So when I got home, I jacked the car up just to double check that the lug nuts were tight. Not only were they not tightened, when I did tighten them down one of the lug nuts broke off. The next day, I dropped the car off to have them replace the lug nut that was broken. I picked it up and the service tech stated that there was no brake pads left on the front at all. I stopped picked up new pads and rotors. When I removed the wheels to replace brakes I noticed that the lug nuts that they replaced were not set properly. Not only that, my brake pads had over 50% brake life left. I called them this morning just to let the owner know what had been going on the past few day and to let them know that the service tech had informed me that I had "no brakes left", when in fact there was plenty of brake pad left. The owner was very rude and hung up on me. Not very professional at all. We will not be going back to Helton Tire. read more

What a joke...the prices are reasonable but I will pay more somewhere else. The husband and wife team that works here are so rude its ridiculous. The husband put the tires on and the wife works the counter. I've been here three times because there prices for a complete set of used tires is really decent but have a tire problem go somewhere else ANYWHERE else. read more
