The cleaning people themselves provide a great service. They clean the spots I commonly forgot, are respectful, and ask questions if needed. The people are wonderful. The scheduling however is so uncertain that I won't be using them anymore. Initial scheduling was fine, but then they showed up 5 hours late and I had to ask them to leave since I had guests arriving at 6:00pm. Then one morning I had a cleaner just show up without any confirmation and I had to send them away because I was not expecting them and therefore cleaned the house myself the day before. The move in cleaning was just okay. The attention to detail was not there. One of the cleaners was on her phone most of the time so she may have been distracted. The bathroom drawers still had hair in them and I had to alert them of that as I paid extra for this. Also paid extra to clean the ovens. Had I known that consisted of just wiping inside I would not have paid extra for that. The lazy Susan inside one of the kitchen cabinets had a stain from the previous owners and was not cleaned. The kitchen floor tile was not cleaned thoroughly. The company also would not allow me to provide my own cleaning supplies which I'm not a fan of as they could be using towels that cleaned a toilet to wipe counters. The cleaners are excellent. I want to be clear this isn't a review of them. I had a deep clean done and while it was frustrating that the scheduling office sent their employees an hour before the scheduled time, the cleaning was really good. It was a little expensive though - 490 for two people for around 3 hours. Pricey but not totally unreasonable. I requested a quote for a regular cleaning and after that they sent an inordinate amount of emails and texts. I didn't schedule right away because it was a little out of my price range and I didn't like how many messages they sent. But the cleaners are good and they sent a coupon, so I booked. The quoted rate was 272. I was charged 390 for one person for a 2.5 hr cleaning, which is only 100 less than a longer cleaning with an entire extra person. That's 156 an hour. Even at the standard rate, it's 92 an hour for one person. It was my understanding that the quote is an estimate and depends on how long a cleaning takes. I'd think if it was only 2.5 hours for one person, the rate would be less, not exponentially more. On top of that, I confirmed the start time the day before because I wasn't going to be home that morning. That day I got a text saying they were on their way and arriving an hour early. I had to call and sort that out, and the cleaner was still a bit early and I wasn't totally ready for them. A very frustrating and expensive experience. I hired Helping Hands Cleaning Services for a first time cleaning on short notice. I was impressed by how fast they were to respond with a quote and how efficiently they processed all of the information. The employee that did the cleaning was named Chris. He was very nice! He made sure to verify which services I requested and asked me if there was anything else that he could do for me. I appreciated his help and attention to detail. In hindsight, there were two small things that I believe could've been done slightly better, but I can't complain - he did an overall fantastic job! I also met the supervisor (I believe her name was Rosa?) and she was very nice as well. I instructed the cleaner to not clean the wine bottles, she indicated she understood and then washed the labels off or damaged the labels of nine wines dating from 1929 to 1945!!!! She left a metal ladder leaning against a 1800's painting and knocked four pieces of wood molding off the stairs while banging the vacuum wand against them talking with her boyfriend. When I spoke with the owner she did not say she was sorry or offer any compensation and had what seemed to me as a standoffish attitude. Had a deep clean done a couple of weeks ago in a small 1 bed, 1 bath 695 square foot condo. We paid $370 plus tip, which I thought was high since we have the place up for sale with barely any furniture. Cleaning was good; however, the couple that cleaned the place also helped themselves to 2/3 of my big change jar after my GF left them alone to clean. It's maybe an extra $200 they stole, but it's not a good feeling to know you can't trust what you thought was a reputable company with good and honest workers. read more

5 stars for the actual cleaning by Guadalupe and Rosa. I've used many cleaners over the years and they are by far the best and most thorough. For example, they clean the floors in our closets, which is something I never even thought to expect or ask. They are both friendly, on time, and have never missed an appointment. Initially I did have some issues with the main office where it took awhile for someone to respond to a couple concerns, I didn't get a call when the cleaners (a different team) were running late for one appointment and I had to pick up someone from the airport, and one time they sent a team who did a subpar job. Those issues did get resolved and I haven't had any problems recently, so if I could I'd give the company a 4.5 overall. But definitely 5 for the current cleaning team. read more

To top it off, the cleaning job itself was subpar, with many areas left untouched and dirty. It was clear that they rushed through the cleaning to finish as quickly as possible, leaving many areas half-cleaned and dusty. Overall, it was an unpleasant and frustrating experience, and I would not recommend this home cleaning service to anyone. This was a great experience. I booked Helping Hands for Monday, but then unfortunately the cleaner did not show, and I was not called about the no-show until 1:45 into our scheduled cleaning time. I was prepared to have a poor overall experience because of this, but they were quick to make it right: rescheduled for the next day, as well as provided a discount for my troubles. This cleaning service had a lot of good reviews so I am disappointed in the results. I hired them to deep clean an empty apartment we were moving into. For $60 an hour per person (so $120 per hour because they send a team of 2) I would have expected better quality. Things like baseboards, corners, bathtub jets, those should be spotless on a deep clean. Now looking at more reviews I see there have been complaints of quality within the last 5-7 months. If you are being referred by someone you trust for a specific team then perhaps this service could be worth it. I did not find them worth the price for the team i received. They also broke a shelf in our freezer and then proceeded to argue with us that it was "a little bit broken". This is after the technician admitted to my husband he dropped the shelf and it is now in two pieces. They take credit card and scheduling was very easy. I really wanted to like this service but am overall disappointed with the quality and customer service. I hired them to make my life easier and now I have to find a replacement shelf for my freezer, and they did a lackluster job. I would keep searching. We will not be using this service again.
