This is a gem in the mountains, Montana that you can't afford to miss. We started with the Burrata…read moreand prosciutto appetizer. The burrata was perfect and fresh. There was lovely oil and the bread was tasty. I want to warn you, though this is on a bed of prosciutto. Like so much. I had the carbonara and you could tell the pasta was fresh and the sauce was made simply with fresh ingredients. My dining partner had the Maccheroni Alla Norma which had delicious fresh pasta and sauce and tasty roasted eggplant. for dessert I tried the torte Della nonna The torta itself was great very lemony. But the ice cream was honestly some of the best ice cream I've ever had. we also had the profiterole the chocolate sauce was great and the cream was yummy. Wheelchair accessibility: this restaurant is very tightly packed and to get to the bathroom people had to physically stand up and lean chairs against tables for us to pass though. We really did appreciate the fact that the hostess led us to the back having the people move rather than us doing it ourselves. On the way out of the bathroom, we actually went out through the kitchen door and back around and when we went back to the bathroom later, we did the same thing. The bathroom door is heavy and so you might need assistance, but the bathroom is spacious. We actually dined alfresco, and one of the two tables at the entrance to the restaurant highly recommend. there is an accessible parking lot on the street right around the corner.

The pasta preparations are creative and balanced, the pasta is perfectly cooked al dente, and if the prices seem high for the area, it's balanced by very large and shareable portions. The Caesar salad (huge) and busiati pasta made a great meal for the two of us. Would piccolo cucina be five stars in New York City? Probably not. The dressing was a little cloying, and the complimentary focaccia was a little dry. But that's nitpicking. I would come back here in a heartbeat.

We decided last minute to go out to dinner and try carbon county steakhouse. We made reservations…read moreonline and got to pick if we wanted to sit in the main room or on the mezzanine. We chose the upstairs mezzanine, which was super cozy. Our server was AMAZING, she helped us decide which appetizers and drinks to order. We ended up ordering Rocky Mountain oysters, which my husband loved. It wasn't my favorite but they taste like chicken and they were super tender so if that's your thing then you should definitely order them. We both got New York's and they were perfectly cooked. The sides were amazing and the prosecco was some of the best I've ever had. 100% recommend this place. It's an hour and a half from our house to carbon county steakhouse and I wouldn't hesitate to drive that far again for their food.

Downtown Red Lodge, Montana, which is a super cute town mixing new and old-western town feel…read morewithout being tourist-trap feeling. The ribeye was great and the baked potato was better than the mashed potatoes, but both were normal. The New York strip was cooked to perfection. We paired the steaks with a bottle of cab sav, and I do think they should look for some better wines at the price paid, but they are likely catering to out of towers. The service was just okay, but seems like they may need better training for servers and table bussers, as it didn't seem like their fault they just didn't know best practice. Overall, good food and experience but probably not completely worth the price. Still 5 stars because it was tasty and nice to sit outside even downtown.
