the worst experience I woukd never recommend hellotech. They scheduled and cancelled 3 appointments in 2 days to have a tech come set up a new TV. I told them I was taking off from work to accommodate the appointment and they guaranteed me that a tech would come and each time they cancelled. When I called to escalate the situation they said their tech team would call and I never received a call back. Do not use this company. read more

An absolute rip-off. I got conned into taking a membership that I've been trying to cancel FOR YEARS and they never do. They tell you to call the 844 number on their website but when you call it just says that they're having "technical difficulties" and to call back another time. This has been going on for months and email support says they "can't" help. Utter and absolute nonsense. They need to be put out of business. Horrific company! read more

SO appalling! I had a tech visit 2 months ago & then was billed $19.95 for a subscription. I canceled immediately & didn't write for a refund. Now I have a 2nd charge for a subscription & the rep tells me I'm NOT canceled. Who does a service & automatically puts you on a subscription WITHOUT telling you. The technician, although polite and professional, was here for over three hours and was unable to fix our problems. We later called in the Geek Squad via Best Buy and that technician fixed our issue within 30 minutes. We were told that the visit would be more than the $79.00 due to the additional time spent trying to find the problem but were shocked when we received a bill for an additional $436.00 with no fix to our issues. Needless to say we would not recommend this service. Stay away! read more

I contacted HelloTech to install a smart thermostat in my home. After 2 cancellation by the technician, I was assigned a new technician to complete the job. After installing the thermostat, my HVAC system began making a strange buzzing sound, the technician assured me the buzzing sound would stop. Later in the day, my HVAC system stopped working completely (in the middle of a heatwave). I contacted a local HVAC company to inspect the system. They stated, since the technician did not turn off the circuit in the fuse box. He likely fried the circuit board and ruined the system. Ultimately, a simple job turned into an incredibly expensive fix because of the HelloTech technician's poor work. read more

Before scheduling we contacted the company to inform them we had a tv cabinet and provided dimensions/weight. We were assured that although tv cabinets were not mentioned as add-on options we could book their service and elect the shelf option as an add-on in lieu of cabinets. Their tech shows up, starts working, and completely botches the job. The TV is not centered and partly obscured by the cabinet. He assures us someone else from the company will come over & fix the job same day or next day. When we contact Hello Tech, they say, sorry, we don't do this type of job, in spite of the fact that they did the job (or messed up the job) and everything we told them (and they should know) transpired before. We are exploring all options for redress. This company had no qualms about screwing us...I would look elsewhere. read more

No lie - I know it sounds too good to be true because of their pricing, but Hello Tech did a great job installing my Ring Pro doorbell. I know they offer other install pricing (they won't do native electrical installs - the kind that needs new wiring from the box or the street; just installs connecting to existing electrical wiring, but that is cool - that is 90% of jobs needed around the house - like tv mounting, video doorbells, remote security cams). Do not hesitate to use them. My install dude, Jonathon, is the best. I will only use him in the future. read more

I know I am extremely late with this review but it needs to be said. July 5th 2018 I got the Ring installed things were fine for a while until the winter hit. I keep getting a message stating low battery low battery so now i check the device to attempt to remove the battery and i realize the removable battery cannot be removed because the installer installed the Ring device too close over the hand rail so battery cannot be removed at all. I called them and received no help they pretty much said it happens sometimes and I don't need to remove the battery because it is powered through my doorbell. So I pretty much adjust my settings to use less power and it worked with limited capability and the Ring was charged to full power. Fast forward to this week the device will not charge at all and is inoperable and of course I cannot remove the battery at all. So thank you Helltech for making my Ring device useless. read more

I booked a TV remounting services specifically informing the HelloTech representative that it was for a previously mounted TV by them and needs to be taken off from one wall in the living room to another wall in the same room. He booked a service for me and informed me that he would schedule a technician to arrive on Friday late afternoon. I received a correspondence from HelloTech scheduling Saturday noon appointment instead. On the day of appointment, after being asked to move all my living room furniture including baby playpen by Mark (technician), he said that he would need to add additional service charge for dismounting the TV. He was reluctant to work and asked me to contact the support. There was a total failure of communication between the technician's company and HelloTech. I spent nearly one hour because of the incompetency on HelloTech's part to resolve the conflict between Technician and them. Finally, ended up canceling the order and my HelloTech membership. HelloTech and Mark not only wasted my time but also caused a lot of inconvenience to us. I would not recommend HelloTech since they dispatch the services through other vendors and do not maintain clear communication putting the customers in a spot if the technicians are misinformed. read more

I had low expectation based on previous GeekSquad experience but was very pleased with this experience. The Hello Tech technician was punctual, friendly and competent. It was with some trepidation that I checked the box saying I'm able to help lift the TV set, but happily for me he was able to do the whole job by himself. Very disappointed with this service, they claim to be customer friendly and easy but we had a bad experience. Most reviews were good, but maybe they have gotten too big too quickly, technician was late and unprepared, although it had been scheduled in advance it was clear that whomever they had set up to do this job didnt look at anything until that moring. All the information was given to customer service but the technician still asked all the questions (how big, how much does it weigh etc). The tech actually was going out that morning to buy parts for the job...in the end they did not show up because they couldnt get the right brackets (because they waited until the last minute) and did not have the courtesy to even call to say they wouldnt be coming. 2 hours after the apppointment time a text was sent saying they were not coming and to call customer service. When we did call the customer service line no apology was given, in fact the first thing that was said was "heres the thing, we cant get someone out today" very matter of fact, makes you feel great when you took the day off from work to get things done. read more
