I have just had one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. I enter Hello Spa, located on Stockton Boulevard in Little Saigon. I was greeted by what I assume was supposed to be the receptionist. He asked did I have a reservation, I told him no, that I had just got off of the phone with him and he told me to come on in. He said, "Okay. That'll be $40." "Huh? Excuse me? $40? You want me to give you $40 riight now?" Yeah, he did. So I gave him the money and he asked me what kind of massage I wanted. I DON'T KNOW! There were no signs on the wall, no menu. He said, "You want [insert some word I couldn't understand]?" Me = o_o "You want ____? Yes, okay, I'll give you _____" Apparently, [insert some word I couldn't understand] is code word for "the most uncomfortable experience you can imagine". Because that's exactly what I got! I am taken to a room with a massage table and a chair. I sit in the chair and he closes the door, leaving me with absolutely no instruction. So I'm sitting in the chair, browsing Facebook on my phone when I feel someone WATCHING ME! I look up and notice the door has a WINDOW on it and there was some guy looking through it! I'm thinking maybe he's lost and doesn't know what's going like me. So I continue to sit there and a few moments later he peeps through the window again! So now I'm like, WTF!!? Because the room is very small and the chair is right in front of this window, so I'm thinking I can't be expected to disrobe in front of this widow! If so, somebody better start tossing some quarters under the door or something for this involuntary peep show! So I get up and open the door and the guy is standing by the door with a mug in his hand that has a bottle of oil in it. So this is my MASSEUSE, not some creeper! "Am I supposed to get undressed?" Then he proceeds to nod his head and make some kind of hand gestures which I'm assuming meant, "I have no idea what you're asking me". I gesture back mimicking me taking my clothes off. He nods yes, shakes the oil bottle in the mug, moves his hand in an upward motion and says, "SWOOSH!" the universal word for "I'm going to put this oil on you and rub you down." Now, a normal person would have left, but I'm a rebel! So I close the door, beat the Guinness Book of World Records for the fastest outfit removal and jump on the massage table. The guy comes in shortly thereafter. Then he massages me over the sheets a bit. After a while I hear something rubbing on the wall. Then I realize it's his FEET! Somehow he's maneuvered himself in a way that he has his feet on the wall and putting his weight on me and my massage! But I can't relax at all! After I had convinced myself the receptionist told me I am getting the MILD massage, I was promptly removed of that notion because he was beating my spine DOWN like crazy! This guy is hydroplaning off the wall and putting all of his weight in his elbows on my tail bone! Hey! But I'm a trooper! No Pain, No Gain! So I let him continue. Now, this is when I start to panic! Because without any warning this guy gets up on the table and STRADDLES ME! After some more hurtful rubbing, HE LEAVES! Didn't say anything! Just left! So now I'm lying here, traumatized wondering if he's even coming back and what would happen if I got up and he came back in! So I just laid there and he came back in. He puts some hot towels on my back and then starts to massage me with them. Okay, I'm with it. Maybe that will stimulate the feeling back into my spine again. Then he starts to wipe my body down with the towels, I guess trying to wipe off the oil and lotion he used, even though I swear he was wiping me in places he never touched to begin with! But I'm like, at least I'm done with this! NOPE! He bends down and says in my ear, "Turn Over". I flip my over and he puts a pillow behind my head. Then he gets some lotion and starts to massage MY FACE! LAWD TAKE ME NOW! I am particular about my face! So he's rubbing my head, rubbing my face, rubbing the product I have in my hair back down to my face! He does about another 10 minutes of messaging and then he whispered sweet nothings in my ear, "Ok, I'm done". Then he leaves. Man! I got up so fast and put my clothes back on! I was about to Flo Jo out that place! Until I opened the door and there he is! Standing with a cup of water. I down the water so I can go! Hand him back the empty cup and he just stands there looking at me, then looks down at my purse! He's waiting for a TIP! REALLY!?? I dig in my wallet, had him $5 and speed walked out of there! The receptionist said something, but I had no time to pay attention! I needed to be out of that building and in the safety of my own vehicle! Clearly I should have read the reviews here more carefully and stuck with the $15 Foot Massage! But I will NOT be back. read more

Aunt took me here and I was super skeptical. Massage for $15? Yes, SUPER skeptical. Turns out that the $15 massage was for a foot massage, that includes basically a full body, but focuses on your feet. You keep your clothes on, and they work on you sometimes through a towel. It's an interesting concept. Open room with mutiple beds. You can hear people in the reception early, and you can hear the back door of the room open to street noise. Otherwise, they are playing instrumental Chinese music. My massuse was really nice. I was told that most of them don't speak English, but I got someone who did. She notices that my shoulders and right hand needed extra attention and so she focused on that. She was painfully great. I was sore the next day and loved it. I think I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area. read more

Hmm I think I would give 3.5 stars but I'll be nice. I came here yesterday with four friends and it was nice that they had so many people working that they could take all five of us at once. It seems relatively clean in here. They make you pay upfront which is a little odd to me... But for how cheap it is ($15 full body with clothes on) I didn't really mind. What I really didn't like: Instrumental Christmas music playing during the massage two weeks after Christmas was pretty annoying. Also, the massage room is dark with dim colored lights that flash through the whole massage. They cover your eyes but the towel isn't enough. The most frustrating thing was the clock in the massage room -- all I could think about was the ticking the entire time. So distracting. The massage was awesome though! He pressed a litttttle too hard on my feet but I think I may just be sensitive. Such a great value, they just need to tweak the ambience a little. read more

I've been going to this establishment for a few years now. It recently changed owners. I haven't been in for a couple months, so I went in today for a foot massage. The price changed from $20 to $25. Bummer, but okay. I pay and give a $5 tip on my credit card and get brought to the massage bed. A girl walks in and tries to talk me into a full body to which I reply no thanks. Then she says "and you only tip five dollars?!" and laughs to a male in the room (another masseuse I assume). Massage was okay but ended at 50 minutes not the full 60. 15 bucks for a one hour "Foot Massage" which is actually a body massage? Um, I think yes. Yes, it is an Asian (Chinese) massage spa. Don't expect to go in and have your own private room. Not bad Sacramento, not bad. I was coming in from a stressful week do I brought my 2 girlfriends with me. We got the 15$ foot massage. I was a little thrown off when they asked for payment up front but that's probably because they wanted to keep it separate from getting taxed for the tip or something. So bring like 5$ in cash! We sat down and I think I read in a review how someone was bothered by the lights..I don't think I would've been so bothered but it was on the back of my mind and all I saw were the flashing color changes. Anyways, they started off with my head and that was one of my favorite parts of the massage. It was really soothing and comfortable. Next they moved onto my arms. And I thought that it was okay. They graze past your feet and I was kinda wishing that my masseuse spent more time on it. They barely worked on my shoulders and that was kind of disappointing because my shoulders were kind of tense. They end it off with giving you hot water which is weird. This is one if the awesomest places to come by after a long day from work. The prices are $14.99 for the "Foot massage ", but they also give you a whole body rub down which is a plus (but they don't advertise that). It's important that you ask for the foot massage specifically, otherwise, they'll talk you into a "body massage" which charges you $35 or $40 i can't remember. All of the service pricings are by the hour. If you want to get the most out of your massage and from your masseuse, wear loose comfortable clothing :) I've made the mistake of coming by with skinny jeans and a t-shirt. The shirt was not a problem, but the jeans were because they'll need to soak your feet in warm water and later massage your legs. It felt a bit uncomfortable during the leg massage, so do come in with gym shorts! Last thing I do want to mention is about the TIP. They will generously expect it after the massage is over and the best time to hand it to them is when you're getting up ready to leave. I usually like to hand them $5- at the end of the day you can't beat a $20/hr massage anywhere else, or at least, as good as here! read more

The first time I can, the masseuse was a guy and though he did a good job, I think he could have been a little more gentle. The 2nd time I came, the masseuse was a female and she did an amazing job. It's still a newer establishment. I've been here twice and I enjoyed it. However the aesthetics of this place still needs to be done a little more before opening. They had a random curtain hanging up to block out sunlight and no led lights to have some sort of light guide around this huge large room full of chairs. My massage was good and the owners were very nice .. They remembered my face from my first try and I really thought that was great as well. Hidden in the little Saigon area it's a good place with good prices. Hopefully the construction is close to done by now and there is no more random curtains on a string hanging up. read more

I had a good first impression of this place. One reason is the price. Another would be the fact that my boyfriend and I did a walk in and only had to wait a minute for the receptionist to take us to the back. The waiting area is basic, nothing too fancy. The main massage was cozy but I wasn't really a fan of the colorful lights that flashed. The massage was great. The massage therapist I had used a good amount of pressure. After the massage we were given water to drink, and my boyfriends therapist just stood there and stared at us like she was waiting for a tip. (Even though we were planning to tip her in the front with a card). Decided not to tip, once we got in the car, she really had the nerve to knock on our window and say "tip please". I have been here many times for years with friends and my Mom. It's great service and great price. They offer original for $15/hrs for an hour foot massage but the price is now gone up as of $20/hrs per hour now. This is the only massage place where they demanded more tip. I originally tipped $10 for a $40 massage using my credit card. At the end of the session, the masseuse found out that I tipped $10 and demanded more tip. I ended up tipping $20 total, 50% tip. The massage was OK and not worth 50% tip. I've been here twice. The first time, it was alright. The massage was weak even after I requested more pressure. I decided to give this place another chance before I write my review. Unfortunately, it is still horrible. I don't care about the ambience or where it's located. All I care about is the massage. This review is based on the massage only. Half of the time my masseuse was circling my heel lightly with no pressure. I requested more pressure but it seems like she is unskilled. She doesn't know where the pressure points are nor locate where the knots are. And when she did find the knots, she quickly brushed up and down avoiding kneading the tension away. Out of the goodness of my heart, I gave her $5 tip. Yep, it's true, you get what you pay for. $15 for a foot massage = horrible waste of time. I went in and was expecting a 1 hour foot massage. Being 7 1/2 months pregnant with swollen and sore feet I thought this would be great . They start off by soaking your feet. While your feet are soaking they begin rubbing your temples,head,ears,nose, cheeks and chin. Once again I was expecting a FOOT massage. She then proceeded to rub the back of my shoulders,arms and hands. By then we were about 35 mins into my 1 hour FOOT massage. After she finished my hands she went to go empty the water basin my feet were soaking in. I saw her take a short break and begin drinking her juice which took about 5 minutes of my massage time. She came back to finally start on my feet. By this time we had about 15 min left. She rubbed my feet (6 min each foot) rubbed my thighs and ended the massage with using a hot towel to wipe the excess lotion off my feet. I'm sure plenty of people would've loved this massage, especially all you get for the price ($15). I'm not big on false advertising, so they should have specified this in their advertisement. When you say 1 hour Foot massage, I'm expecting a 1 hour FOOT MASSAGE. My feet were still sore and swollen when I left. The location: It's not hard to find, you can't miss the $14.99/hr foot massage sign. It really is $14.99, which is why I gave it a try. The inside: The environment doesn't give the typical calm and relaxing vibe, it's not even nice. The receptionist (man) is loud. There is no actual wall between the reception area and the massage room. It's divided by a curtain! I heard every bit noise from the front area. I hope they put up an actual wall real soon. The massage: The actual foot massage saved my time here. Kevin actually spends a lot of time on the pressure points on the foot. I don't get that from other foot reflexology places. I usually end up with a rundown foot rub. I also liked how he puts a lot of pressure when he massages other areas. It came with the usual head, shoulders, back, arms, and thighs. The chairs/beds they use is surprisingly comfortable. I actually like them better than the leather recliner chairs from some of the other places. I walked out of the place with a great massage and the usual aches and pains I got from exercising disappeared really quick. The place itself could use a little help, it's not too inviting and it's small. I just left Hello Spa totally traumatized as I witnessed an old man disrobe in front of me. Who does that? So I paid for my $20 massage (yes they have gone up in price), and the front desk lady walked me to the massage bed. She didn't offer a basket where to put my personal belongings so I just set them aside. As I am waiting for the masseuse, an old man is placed right next to me. He is very loud and disruptive as he is on his cell phone; and none of the other staff tell him get off it as others are trying to relax. His rudeness amplifies when he decides to take off his pants, throw hinself on the bed, and lay comfortably as he continues to be loud on his phone. I demanded my money back whilst explaining to the front desk lady the rationale, and her response was classic, "He is old he doesn't know any better." This response makes me believe that they offer "happy endings" because this guy was way too comfortable getting butt naked. I will never go there again! read more

They were so painful. Me and my sister went and they didn't have enough girl to do us both and the foot, shoulder, and back were very painful. We did not expect them to climb on to of us(their thighs on our head side to side) doing our back. Pain pain.
