This is the first restaurant I tried at the Foundry and it was worth it! It's located in the middle of the Foundry and seems like a great healthy option compared to the surrounding restaurants. I customized my own bowl with ahi tuna, white rice, and different toppings and sauces, which were delicious together! The price was reasonable and the employee was efficient despite the line on a Saturday evening. I'll recommend this place to my friends and family and will be coming back myself (hopefully sooner than later)! read more

I've been here a few times, and I thought it was a decent place at the Foundry Food Hall. It's quick, fresh, and tasty. However, on my most recent visit, I was incredibly disappointed by the experience. These bowls are not cheap, and for two scoops of protein, you will be paying over $18 plus a little more included tax. The girl who took my order was literally scraping the bottom of each container that held the proteins and toppings I ordered, and some "scoops" I got were a joke. When she was about to cover the bowl, I could see that it was almost half empty, and I had asked for various toppings too. Service was also poor. She kept asking me to repeat what I wanted while she was scraping the bottom of the containers, and it was just an awkward experience overall. After paying, I got my bowl and felt that it was super light. In the past, I was pretty satisfied with the portion size, but this time was utterly disappointing. Please refill your containers if they are empty. This was not worth more than $18. Needless to say, I am not sure if I will be back now. read more

I love me some poke! So when I saw that the food hall at the City Foundry had one, I knew I had to try it out during my visit. My spouse and I arrived around lunch time on a weekday, so the line was decently long, about 8 people in front of me, but it moved pretty fast. The employees were very friendly and worked efficiently. I got a large bowl, which may be misleading, because the various bowls (regular, large, and hangry) are all the same bowl size. The only difference is the number of scoops of protein. I believe scoops are one, two, and three, respectively. The poke bowl was on the pricier side in comparison to the price, but I totally understand that rent at a new space like the City Foundry is probably pretty expensive, so I could get over the price. What I couldn't get over was the rice and the two scoops of salmon I got. The rice was hard and the salmon just seemed mediocre in quality. These are the two bases of a poke bowl, the rice and the protein, and I feel like Hello Poke unfortunately missed the mark. The other sides were good, but I felt like a lot of the toppings were "extra". Also I didn't see a wasabi topping for some reason. A pass for me on my next visit, but hopefully these are just some kinks that need to be worked out. read more

Saw some other people with poke when visiting the foundry and decided to get my dinner here! The staff was very kind and made my bowl quickly (which turned out amazing). I did love the fact that there was a vegan protein option, but the sauces are not labeled for allergens/dietary restrictions. I asked the staff if certain sauces had meat products in them and they were not sure. They offered to check the recipe, but there was a line and I felt bad asking so played it safe and got a sauce I knew the typical ingredients of. Food was AMAZING! For a relatively decent price (~$20) you get this huge bowl that easily feeds two people! The salmon is some of the freshest that I've had, and the rest of the ingredients are incredible and compliment the fish so well! Service and ambiance were incredible, as the servers made sure that you had all of the things that you loved in your bowl, and that you enjoyed the way that it was being made. This is because the amount of toppings you get can fluctuate depending on who's serving you. The first time, I didn't get much fish even though I ordered the large portion. This wasn't ideal considering it's about $24 after tip (20% tip and I added seaweed salad which was an additional charge). The second time, the fish and toppings were notably more generous! I ordered the double protein bowl with tofu and salmon. Fish was pretty fresh. Not a whole bunch of toppings. Guy doused my bowl in sauce so it was super salty and soggy. At the end I asked for seaweed topping and he replied that I already had seaweed in my bowl. Yeah I had the wet seaweed salad but that's not the same as the dried seaweed. I especially love that they will mix everything in your chosen sauce before topping it onto the rice. I have had poke at several other places and can definitely say Hello Poke is my favorite. With the Foundry being brand new and just under two weeks since opening, this place is BUSY and most of the booths have extremely long lines or occasionally run out of items until they can prep more. They are all working so hard to keep up with the demand despite also having few hands to run them. I am a big Poke Bowl fan, and was happy to see a new place to try added to the food hall at The Foundry. Unfortunately my excitement was quickly reduced when I saw how limited the menu was. I ordered, then before my first bite, disappointment set in. The rice was so gluey that as I tried to stir it together, I broke my fork. Once I started eating, it was just so uneven. The spicy topping was spicy, but the rest of everything was crazy bland. I wouldn't recommend giving this place a try at this point in time. Not the best poke I've had, but definitely not the worst. The big downside was that there was only one worker doing everything, and customers that, despite waiting in a long line before ordering, still didn't know what they wanted when it was finally their turn to order. (Ugh.) When I finally got to the front of the line, I told the worker that she was amazing that she was able to do everything by herself. She cracked a grateful smile. I ordered a large with ahi tuna and salmon, paid the extra $1 for the crab add-in, and didn't go too crazy with all the crunchies and veggies. Hello Poke didn't have as many choices as other poke places I've been to. No wonton noodles, no brown rice, no soba noodles, no pineapple. She mixed everything up with a gloved hand (and gloves were changed for each order) and placed it atop the white rice in the same sized bowl as a regular. Huh? With tip, my bowl was $21. So, a little pricey for me, particularly since other poke places I've been to don't charge extra for the shredded crab AND I didn't have any leftovers, when I usually do. Flavor was just okay. i'm a vendor at the pride market at the city foundry and my wife and i were SO excited to try this poke place! i wish the menu/service was a little more comprehensive in terms of ordering but i have anxiety so i of course looked at the menu before going lol. we absolutely loved their poke! will definitely be getting it again and coming back to the foundry just to have a poke date. i also wish that we would've had just a smidge more rice. i absolutely loved that they mixed your protein, sauces and toppings together whereas other poke places just kind of throw everything on top. the person making our bowls was so kind and asked if we wanted toppings mixed in or on the side- so thoughtful! if you're looking for good poke at a super awesome location stop by hello poke :) read more

I was excited when I saw there was a poke place at the foundry, but from that initial excitement my experience only went downhill. First off, the woman who helped me was really unpleasant and rude. Just based on looking at the options they have out, their tofu appeared to be fresh out of the box, unseasoned, unmarinated and uncooked. The shrimp is minced, which is honestly just so weird to me. Who does that. The mango obviously came out of a can, which is pretty nasty imo. The tuna didn't look like it was ever alive and they don't have any vinegar. The lack of vinegar really did them in for me. Eating plain rice and substandard fish and veggies really just isn't worth the $15 dollars they charge. I got salmon in my bowl and it was okay, but not great. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone with self respect or prior experience eating actual poke; you will be disappointed and out $15-$20 bucks afterwards, depending on whether they have small bills to give you change if you pay in cash like we did. So basically; bad food, high prices, rude employees and no vinegar all add up to a place I won't be returning to. Tighten up, hello poke. read more

I wanted to really like them, as a new offering in a new venue. Unfortunately I was disappointed. At only 5 pm on Saturday they were already out of several choices. Taking and processing orders was slow, resulting in a slow moving line. And the portions are small--it's almost comical to see them work to fish out just a few pieces of the various choices for ingredients. A number of things that still need to be worked out--hopefully they will improve as they get more experience, but for now I won't be in a rush to return. read more
