This is a great Poke spot located in Downtown Kirkwood! We had never been in, and were craving something a bit more light than pizza, or burgers, or tacos. PokeDoke is located in a prime spot, we were shocked we'd never tried it before. The interior is modern and spacious. The staff were so friendly. The guy who checked us out was so kind and informative. Everything we tried was so good. The Blueberry Boba Milk Tea was sweet and the boba pearls were soft and chewy. We also got Gyoza for an appetizer and 2 Poke bowls. The Gyoza were crispy and the sauce was tangy. Both of our poke bowls were insanely delicious. My Mom got one with chicken and spring mix, and she said it was so refreshing. My bowl had spicy tuna and ahi tuna with a delicious teriyaki mayo which added a touch of sweetness. The raw fish was pink and fresh. We will be back. Yes, it's pricey, but I haven't had poke this high quality for years. More options than Koibito Poke, but they don't make it in front of you here. read more

My siblings and I had been wanting to try this place because we'd seen the sushi push pops all over social media and were really excited to finally go. When we arrived, the restaurant was only moderately busy. We ordered four sushi push pops and sat down to wait. Right after we ordered, about 10 more people came in and ordered bowls. The staff brought out two of our push pops fairly quickly and told us the other two would be ready soon. Instead, we watched them make every single bowl for the customers who had ordered after us before finishing the rest of our order. It was frustrating because we had been waiting much longer than everyone else. In total, it took around 20 minutes to receive all of our food. Unfortunately, the sushi itself was pretty underwhelming. To make matters worse, on the last bite of my sister's push pop, she pulled out a large piece of plastic wrap that had been rolled into the sushi. I brought it to the employee at the counter, and he simply took it to the back and asked if we wanted it remade. After already waiting so long, we didn't want to spend another 20 minutes waiting for a replacement. Given the situation, I think a refund or some other effort to make things right would have been much more appropriate. read more

Wow this was sooo good. Coming from FL, this definitely competes with some poke down there. The ahi tuna was fresh along with the seaweed salad. Loved all the options of toppings and they loaded on the sauces which I appreciate! For two scoops it's about $17 for a poke bowl, but you can have unlimited toppings. Next time we'd try the Hawaiian BBQ chicken. Also nice location with tons of outside seating for a good weather day. read more

I used to order from PokeDoke when I worked in the CWE, and I decided to give them another try today. I work in Maryland Heights now, so this was the Kirkwood location via Uber Eats. Big mistake. Big. HUGE. I have been a fan of poke for years and I spent a week in O'ahu recently, so I can unequivocally tell you that POKE IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE DROWNING IN POKE SAUCE. I was given an unappetizing, gloppy mess of something resembling poke, and it was NOT good. Also, $6 should get someone some seaweed salad in a container larger than this one. The poke portion for what I paid was much smaller than what I get at Poke Munch and Hawai'i Poke, too. They also used to serve octopus, and it was not a menu option this time, which was a bummer, because while PM and HP are better in terms of taste and size, they don't have octopus, either. I'll stick with Poke Munch and Hawai'i Poke next time, as they are consistently good with decent portion sizes for what you pay. read more

Sucks! Sucks! SUCKS! This is one of those Poke shops that gives Poke shops a bad name. I feel like one of these pops up which will be here one day and gone the next while existing only to fill ubereats orders until the game is up and they shut down without letting staff know. The restaurant if absolutely lifeless and smells like a pizza shop more than freshness and vibrancy of Poke. The service is lifeless and stale. The cost for 2 people to eat is just under $40.00 before tipping. I never once saw anyone wash hands, sanitize or do basic sanitary functions between orders. It was like watching school lunch ladies slopping scoops of mush on a conveyer belt. Poke was fine but completely void of effort made with mushy rice and near frozen vegetables. Now comes the worst part of our visit; a massive hair right in the middle of our plate. Thank goodness the long haired employees weren't wearing hairnets and had freedom to scratch their head on top of our food. Its an absolute bust. Why bother eating here again? read more

Wanted something fresh and decided to come here...big mistake! Slimy edamame. Fishy tasking tuna (which is not normal for sushi grade tuna). Canned pineapple. $60 for 2 bowls and a boba tea. Absolutely insane. I was served my boba tea with no ice and it was HOT, not iced. Poke n Munch in STL is a MUCH better option and way cheaper. I love building my own build. It's like Chipotle, but for poke! I've had Pokedoke at their other locations, but this one is a lot bigger and the vibes are great! They have this cute wall that is a picture-perfect opportunity for your bowl or your friends. I always build a small bowl with salmon and spicy tuna. The spicy tuna is probably my favorite. I used to be a pretty regular customer. I do appreciate your polite reply Drew. It is your restaurant, and very good flavors. Just saying as for myself, I felt like the food was cut back. Maybe these days, that could be common in business, and what kind of customer would I be if I just accepted that. I can assure you that the amount of chicken was cut in half, of what I had received the many times before when I had been there. I noticed the price was lowered 2$ from the previous times I had been there, as recently as March / 2023 And along with that the amount of chicken was cut in half. As I mentioned in my previous review, 12 % saving in price for 50% less the chicken I received. In my opinion, not how I want to be treated as a customer, so I won't be going there again. Would you do business with a place that discounts your price 12% and cuts your product 50%? If you would, you may be a better person than I, and I hope you get to see how that feels. This is absolutely what Kirkwood has been missing! I love the build your own poke bowl. It is completely customizable and you really get a lot in the bowl. Everything tastes so fresh and you could come here 100 times and have something different each time - there are that many toppings! The best part is I never feel gross or overstuffed after eating. The food wasn't the best my first time. I can't say much about the atmosphere or service because I wasn't insane for long.

PokeDoke close to my house?! Yes! I honestly did not realize that a poke place had opened nearby until I was searching for an Uber food delivery while under quarantine. So, I gave them a try. They have small, regular or large bowl options. I opted for the regular which came with 3 scoops of poke options, up to 2 options for sushi rice, soba noodles, greens, etc, and over 10 different types of toppings which includes crab salad. Avocado toppings come with an additional fee. I opted to not have avocado toppings. For my bowl, I had the soba noodles as a base with 3 scoops of ahi tuna, spicy tuna and octopus and then topped with a few different toppings including crab salad. I also added an order of pork gyoza. My food arrived neatly prepared and packaged. The gyoza sauce was placed in a little corner with a piece of something like wax paper between the gyoza and the small dipping sauce container. The wax paper prevented the oil from the gyoza from getting all over the recyclable box as well. What a thoughtful packaging process! My poke came in a nice bowl with a large dome-like plastic cover preventing the cover from touching the food or mashing the poke bowl contents together. Although I cannot speak to how their in-store customer service is like since I have not set foot inside the restaurant (not yet anyway), I can definitely attest to the quality of their bowl. For a regular poke bowl of $18, they actually gave me enough for 2 people and it was delicious and tasted fresh. I'm definitely very excited about my discovery yesterday and can myself returning/visiting the storefront in the very near future. read more

Poke Doke at Kirkwood is the very first place I ordered poke bowl in St Louis at. Unlike Poke Munch at Creve Coeur, the price of bowl includes all protein and delicious sides. I was pleasantly surprised at the poke bowl ordered. The salmon added was very fresh. In addition, I was able to get seaweed salad, crab meat and mango free of charge. The server recommended sweet Thai chili sauce along with eel sauce; which goes well with all my toppings. Yet, the sauce flooded my bowl. Okay so I'm going to start by saying the poke was good. It's a chipotle style build your own joint so that's nice - I love getting a choice to make it just how I want it without having to modify a menu item ( because I hate being "that girl"). Also I get that it's fresh sea food in the middle of the country - it's going to be expensive that's a given. However I'd have preferred a bit more effort in the ambiance department. If you stay to eat or take it to go the food is in disposable containers. If I sit down I'd like to have an actual bowl - maybe I'm the odd one out here but even some Panera level basic dishes would be appreciated. And all the disposables (no matter the recyclability) Just aren't great for the environment. read more

Maybe I just don't appreciate Poke enough, but having to pay $43.76 (w/o tip) for 2 regular bowls, a side of seaweed to share, and one regular drink is just craaaazy. I went to grab some poke for lunch here between classes. The service was quick, efficient, and easy to navigate. The poke was great and filled me up. Store is clean and well-kept as well. I had a nightmare of a time trying to park but realized there's a parking garage around the back and you can reach the place by a backdoor fairly quickly from the garage. Just a tip.... place an order for pickup online or at least do a mock order placement (like choose your options and don't submit) so you're ready to tell them what you want when you get in. I had a hard time seeing some ingredients with getting on my tiptoes (I'm 5'2") so I'm glad I already knew what they had to offer! Only downsides were the price ($15 for a small) and them being out of mochi donuts! Oh well. Hopefully they get some in soon. read more

Kirkwood was overdue for a poke place and this is the spot! I did a build your own with salmon and spicy tuna and the small bowl was surprisingly super filling with the boba. There are a ton of options for toppings and sauce and I got almost all of the toppings with a spicy Sriracha mayo and eel sauce. The sauce for me was perfect I didn't feel like it was over done. I also had a taro boba. The tapioca pearls were perfect! They weren't overly chewy they felt pretty tender and delicious. We got super lucky and had a beautiful night and ate outside. Literally my favorite poke spot in all of the states!!! I've traveled all over and has poke everywhere nothing comes close or even compared to the freshness of the ingredients at this place! It is literally a breath of fresh air and can be very nutritional depending on the bowl you get! Perfect replacement for switching it up if you go to chipotle or qdoba a lot! Solid poke bowls! Bowls are easily customizable with a variety of fresh ingredients to choose from. I like how they have other food items to choose from like Hawaiian bbq and appetizers. Have never been to a Poke Doke but just discovered there was one near me! Stopped by tonight for a carryout and will be back. My "small" bowl of ahi tuna and salmon was plenty big so that I ate half and all the fish and saved the rest for lunch. Lots of choices including brown rice or soba, lots of toppings (included in the one price), several sauces, fish was fresh. I chose the eel sauce - it was mild, not sweet - and I did feel a need to add a dash of soy sauce for some salt. I also got my first ever mochi donut - loved it! Not greasy, not super sweet like usual donuts. A bit pricey but where else can you get one. Also enjoyed a taro boba milk tea since theirs are made nondairy, great for us lactose-intolerant folks.
