AMAZING!!! I walked in at 8:55pm as a walk in, after a long day of shopping in very flat flip flops my feet were aching. I was greeted and asked to pick a service. I asked for the 30 min foot reflexology for $15 but the front desk gentleman let me know for $5 more I can get an hour long...so I got the hour long foot reflexology. It was very quiet, empty but very peaceful. They started right away and I was so impressed that with the foot massage I also received a head, neck, hand and arm massage, flip over back rub/stretch. Completely inappropriate. I got the 60-min massage and felt so uncomfortable. I don't know why I didn't stop and walk out. Partly because they took my money up-front, mostly because society has trained women to be agreeable. Male masseuse, didn't appear to speak much English. Started out fine, although he used a ton of oil, felt greasy. And he left the door open when he went to get the hot oil - I had a towel draped over my lower half, but that's not cool. Then at one point he had my arm out to the side and rested my hand on his knee while he was rubbing the side of my back. That felt weird, but I chalked it up to him trying to avoid leaving my arm dangling off the side of the table. But then he put his hand on top of mine - not like he was massaging it or putting pressure on it - just gently resting there. Then he scooted his hand up his thigh! I jerked away, and he moved back to massaging my shoulders. So then I was on high alert, trying to plan an escape route - but he seemed totally normal for a while, so I convinced myself I was overreacting and tried to relax and enjoy my massage. Well then later, he got up ONTO the table and was kneeling in between my legs! Super weird, I didn't like that - but he wasn't touching me inappropriately, just rubbing my back and putting pressure on it. Then he lifted my feet toward my butt and applied pressure that kinda stretched/popped my legs. And he did some other things like pulling my arms, lifting my shoulders, pulling/stretching me, etc. So again, I convinced myself that maybe this was a Thai massage place and it was normal for him to be kneeling between my legs? I've only had a handful of massages in my life, I'm not an expert. But then he did this thing where he grabbed my hips and lifted them upwards. Felt kinda rapey - like, I can recognize that that's a good stretch, but it's not something I want to be doing with a man kneeling over me and nothing on but a towel! Save those moves for a yoga studio! Whyyyyyy I didn't just tell him to stop, I don't know. I guess I felt vulnerable in there alone and practically naked. Makes me feel stupid. But yet again, I'm laying there just trying to convince myself that this isn't creepy and it's just a different style of massage. But then here's the last bit that cannot be explained away: Later he was standing beside the table, doing a circular motion on my shoulder blades with one hand while pressing downward on my low back with the other, and I felt his PRIVATE PART brush up against my hand which was laying at my side - and it definitely wasn't an accident, because he did it twice along with the circular massage motion. I clenched my hand into a fist, and he stopped and went back to a "normal" type of back rub. At this point I'm just wanting it to be over so I can get dressed and leave. Which finally happens, after he rubbed me down with a hot towel. So in the end, I almost feel like I'm overreacting because it's not like he touched my private parts or anything. But I expected to leave my massage feeling relaxed, not feeling slightly violated and confused and ashamed for not stopping him when I felt uncomfortable. Then I went home and looked at the Yelp reviews, and someone named Nikki C had the exact same experience as me, about a month ago. This place is skeezy!!! Avoid!!! read more

This is a wonderful place to get some good healing ! I love the location it has easy parking and food places nearby. The therapists can speak English and understand stand my concerns as well.. I love that if you get a 90 min massage you get a free hot stone treatment. They also have wonderful foot massages with different 3 dollar add ons to soak you feet healing water or healing mud ! I get lower back spasms from time to time. Tonight was one of those times. My husband told me he would buy me a massage and I tried this place. I was lucky enough to get Mark as my masseuse. He continuously checked in with me to make sure the pressure was OK. He was very thorough and got all of the knots out and my back spasms stopped. Ah relief! I'm not sure how this place had 4 stars. Hello massage, more like goodbye massage. They don't understand English very well, and my husband and I asked for a Swedish massage but got a deep tissue. Ouch! Even when telling them softer they would say okay but continue at the same pressure. We got the full body but only got mid body. My hands and feet were touched but not massaged. The hole you put your face in is lined with paper towel and not soft paper towel, and is super hard and uncomfortable. Before they ask you to turn onto your back they rub you down with a warm towel, and that would have been nice but the towels were so corse, if I used them on my car my car would be scratched so badly. Gave 2 stars instead of one because the are nice people just not my cup of tea. Unfortunately I would not come back. read more

I found this place on yelp and per the reviews I decided to give them a try. I went in on a walk-in basis and they were able to get me in within 5mins. A man in the waiting room was telling me he has been going there for a while and they always do an awesome job. I got my massage by Candy. She was so sweet and did an amazing job! I asked for heavy pressure and it was perfect. She even asked a few times if the pressure was still okay. She was very thorough and I left feeling way better than I went in. Great deep tissue massage, clean spa and you can usually get in same day or walk in. 60 min full body massage is what I go for and it's only $40! Compared to fancy spas who charge on the upwards of $75-$100 an hour. This is an Asian massage so it is stronger then most Swedish massage some may be used to. There are many massage stores in this area in San Diego, this one is my favourite. I was a little confused in the beginning, because there are two hello massage stores there, one is in Escondido I went last week, the other is this one in El Cajon. Different therapists, different massage style, some are strong, some are gentle. If you just want to relax and slow, I don't recommed strong therapist. I like gentle, so I don't choose strong therapist, too strong for me. I like the therapist with patience and communication while doing massage. Most of them speak English even though their English is limited. They speak Chinese. read more

The therapists there are sooo amazing, I've been there several times. I have shoulder and neck problem, so I asked them to focus on my shoulder and neck, they can speak English and understand me and found my spot every time and that really works. Especially the Thai massage, it has streaching, I love it. I will choose Thai again next time. I also like their foot reflexology so much, first they put my feet into the tub with warm water to soak for about 10 minutes and then massage my feet . I chose ginseng soup, they said ginseng is good to regulate inflammation, provide antioxidant protection and maintain the health of cells, and decrease the risk of certain kinds of cancer. I have had MANY messages but this was by far the WORST massage and massage therapist I've ever had. They pointed us to a dark room, no light on, no instructions (for the ones in our group that had never had a massage). My massage was sooooo PAINFUL I could barely stand it. I should've walked out several times but I didn't. I repeatedly asked her to reduce the pressure and she REFUSED. she told me pain and soreness was good and I was wasting time and money getting "feel good" massages. I have frequented Hello Massage for over a year now and it was always my favourite place for a cheap, wonderful massage. The past three times I have been here, however, have been the three worst massages I have gotten in my life. I've been to enough good massage places to know that I shouldn't be screeching in pain or getting up from a finished massage with excruciating pain. That's what I've been dealing with my past 3 visits. I'm not quite certain how "trained" the masseuse is but he could honestly receive more training starting at the beginner level. He applied painful amounts of pressure to a lot of sensitive points in my body, especially my shoulders. He also was on the verge of scratching my shoulder blades to the point of blood before I kindly asked for him to stop. I've been here a few times. Mark is amazing. He goes really deep, but asks you if you're doing okay for the first 10 minutes. Went to get a massage here. Overall the massage was decent. What got me was that they asked me to pay upfront before my massage... super weird. Then on the tip line I didn't know how to tip on a massage I hadn't received yet so I left 10% thinking if it was good i would leave extra cash. THE FIRST THING the massage guy said to me was "you only left a $4 tip. If you like massage can you leave a bigger tip?" So rude and weird. I told him if it's a good massage maybe I will leave more. Was uncomfortable as soon as I walked in . No one was at the counter and when they realized there was a line 4 people came out and the lady who helped me looked very mad . Once the we're ready I was taken to a room where there were 2 young kids who stared at me the whole time . After 15 mins of waiting I was given a decent massage but he stopped after 45 mins and I paid for an hour . So it seems they count your wait time as part of the massage . So Hubs and I made a reservation for each of us; 90 minute fusion, that was explained as back and feet reflexology for $50. I definitely was not expecting the wonderful experience that we had today! It has been forever since our last massages and this was our first time for both of us at Hello Massage and we will be returning! My favorite part was the hot stones, Hubs was being walked on.
