Never have anything, trash place. Will tell you yes then no at the window. Almost every time I come here it's something different. Last time they told me to pull up to the window to have me waiting for 5+ min just to order! They charged me $6.50 for it, but I only got a hot chocolate, which means they charged for both the hot chocolate and the croissant, ridiculous. read more

this place is horrible!!! I strongly suggest you never eat here. I went through the drive thru and ordered a mango blended drink. I get the drink and on my 4th sip I got PLASTIC BITS!! Does anyone know if they're closed for good? I moved from Santa Ana (to Rialto) last March. I finally went back today in hopes of getting a homey feel of everything I missed. Then I saw the huge CLOSED sign on it and I even text my parents the sad news. They had good donuts, my all time favorite was their powdered donut. We ordered a couple ham and cheese croissants as we passed thru the area. Twenty mins later down the road we took our first bites and were sorely disappointed. Dry croissant ... all ham no cheese. Close to work, cheap and edible. Their food is not the greatest. Donuts are just plain old "fine". They used to have fat-free muffins but I guess I'm not their target demographic in this neighborhood. The Chinese food served out of the big trays is actually pretty tasty for this type of fare. As long as you are there between 11:30 and 1:30, it's fresh and hot. Outside of that, it's gonna be sitting under the lamps way too long. It is a safe choice for a quick bite. read more

I usually go to the Donut Star in Irvine, so that is what I was comparing this place to. Yeah, It is open 24 hours but the donuts are off. Something about the filling (I had a chocolate cream) and frosting (cherry..? cruller) is really disturbing. It tasted sour. Giving 4 stars due the Chinese food being ok. I would compare it to mall Chinese, but I think I enjoy mall Chinese food more. I got the sugar donut, cinnamon donut, and apple turnover. Do they serve you a bowl of rice with Chinese food and put the donut on top? Anyways I went inside to order my two dozen assorted donuts for my meeting, and noticed it was kind of close to lunchtime. I decided to look over the assortment of Chinese food available which was located a little further down on hot plates. There were quite a few things to choose from and I chose make traditional broccoli with beef and chose white rice instead of fried. You know trying to stay healthy and all... I was pleasantly surprised that the fools was pretty good and the donuts were nice and fresh. No they didn't make stir fried chicken with old fashioned cake donut but did have nice quality donuts and food. The sign says "fast food Chinese" and that's exactly what it is. The food is ready for you to order when you get there and tastes good. They have a nice variety of the normal choices. We ordered the orange chicken and broccoli and beef with the white rice, noodles, and fried rice. All tasty for under $20 with large drinks. read more

This is fast food Americanized Chinese served in heating bins and donuts, an odd combination. Tried their Orange Chicken, it was too bready and hard, barely any chicken in it. Chow mein noodles had good flavor but had too many wilted vegetables in it. Donuts were a little better. Their French cruller had a tasty icing on it, moist with a nice chew. But their old-fashioned had too much icing on it, too sweet for my liking. Workers don't speak English well, give you sour looks and aren't one bit helpful. Dining room is dirty and ugly. That milk she had in the fridge has been expired, from last week! Just took a sip and it was super sour! Donut Star/Star Wok Express... strange combo and yes, you read it correctly. I never tried their donuts, but I came here for their Chinese food. It's definitely a hole in a wall kind of place. My guilty pleasure when I feel like pigging out. Their lunch special is super cheap! Like dirt cheap! For less than $6, you're getting a full box of food (rice/chow mein and 2 entrée) and a medium drink; best to share it with another person or save later. Trust me on this one. MSG tastes great but when you're over loaded with MSG, you'll get really sick and/or cranky afterward. Overall, the food is just like any other Chinese food to go place. Came across this spot as we were going home and they were fully stocked with what we wanted. Blueberry donuts here are superb. Seriously? Why all the hate? Yes, I've had my fair share of ass-fire after eating here, but it was always my fault. They have squeeze bottles of sambal chili sauce all over the place and I just can't help myself. I basically drown my food in a completely unnatural way with it. I used to work across the street and found myself here almost once a week. That said, even without the sambal oelek, this food is legitimately good! Lunch hour is probably the best time to be here as the high turnover keeps the food fresh. I've ordered a combo right when a fresh batch of orange chicken came out...wow. Delicious. They used to have a BBQ pork that was amazing - not sure if it's still around. First off, I dig the donuts. They're not bad at all, a bit stale, but not bad. I went there hoping to get some chinese food at 1 in the morning, I had searched around and saw that this location was open 24 hours. As we drove up, they still had their signs on for chinese food. I was disappointed. Not only had they stopped serving chinese food at 9pm (!), they didn't accept card (as it says they do here on yelp) and the guy working there was a total waste of space. He not only berated us to pick something or leave, he didn't give us the donuts we asked for, was very very very VERY rude to us, and was not helpful at all. He looked sweaty, and half asleep, his eyes were bloodshot and he obviously didn't want our business. We weren't being rude, we are very polite, and we were speaking in a very clear and decisive manner. I'm not coming back to this Donut Star at late hours ever again.
