I really often don't like fan and game stores but this one does it well. An absolute great gamut of…read morefan and throwbacks across all the 80-90-00's material for toys and games, comics. Front and back with free to play arcade games means you can make a bit of time of it, hit the nearby brunch then wander down either memory or fandom lanes. A good showing here and well curated that shows they get it, without seeming like they're "too" interested in the odd hyper price hike cash grab in the space in some of the fandom frenzy areas. Pleasant surprise for a very simple expectation on the outside.

I was surprised by how large Tosche Station Echo Base is. The store is split into two rooms: the…read morefront room is dedicated to toys and collectibles, while the back room is packed with comics. They have a huge selection of action figures, statues, used video games, retro video games, and, of course, comics. The comic room has a ton of back issues, organized primarily by publisher--Marvel, DC, and independent. There are also several random long boxes without labels, along with a table containing several boxes labeled "Keys." There were also 3-4 short boxes of "key issues" scattered around the checkout counter. Fair warning: these boxes aren't particularly organized. Saying they're "loosely alphabetized" would probably be giving them too much credit. That said, if you enjoy digging through boxes looking for hidden gems, this can be a fun place to treasure hunt--as long as you have the time and patience. I'm a Spawn collector, and the designated Spawn section only had a handful of issues. However, I ended up finding several more Spawn issues scattered throughout the "Key" boxes on the table in the back. I even found more in the "Key" boxes at the checkout counter. I think consolidating all of these boxes into one organized area would make the shopping experience much better. It's fun finding unexpected issues, but when you're specifically hunting for something, it can be frustrating when the boxes aren't organized or alphabetized. As for pricing, the comics are generally priced fairly. Some of the variants and key issues are priced a bit on the high side, though, so it's worth knowing your values before making a purchase. The back room also has a free-to-play arcade cabinet, which is a nice bonus and adds to the retro vibe. The staff was nice and very helpful, which made the visit even better. Overall, this is a great spot for collectors who enjoy the treasure-hunt experience. If you have some time to spend digging through boxes, you never know what you might uncover. Just be prepared to do some serious hunting! ‍

Despite getting distracted by a dog she recognized (lol!), she was quick to greet us and ask if she could help us find anything. She later noticed me quizzically looking at a book and asked again if she could help me. I voiced what I was thinking at that point (because it was a very specific thought about the Italian author), and she researched the answer for me. I then asked a couple other questions, grabbed some books to purchase, and then chatted for a bit. I love that bookstores like this still exist! She also offers 10% off new books, so that's awesome too. And in the age of Covid, book-themed masks are available to purchase - they're located at the front of the store. You can find a bunch of different genres here, and both new and used titles. It's a small but mighty shop, and I'm so glad to have stumbled into it. Future trips to Staunton will have to include visits to The Book Dragon!

They carry Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Dragon Ball and other gaming titles in single packs, decks and box sets. Trading cards are all the rage. They host league tournaments for various card events for gaming enthusiasts. They don't stock comic books or figurines, but if you're a card collector, their inventory runs from Star Wars to TV cards to anything from A-Z! There are plenty of tables in this homey, welcoming atmosphere. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, and if you're new the the card scene, they make you feel like a regular in no time. Collector's Heaven also supports FeedMore with food drives which helps to feed those in need in the community. They're definitely playing with a full deck!

This business doesn't deserve even the one star that Yelp requires as a minimum…read more My son and I stopped in today because he wanted to check out their Pokémon inventory. While we were browsing, a young man in the store asked the employees behind the counter if they were interested in purchasing some cards from him. They declined. After hearing that, I casually mentioned that my son might be interested if the seller was looking to move them. My son even politely asked if that would be a problem. Instead of responding professionally or courteously, one of the employees immediately stated that if my son and the seller worked out a deal, they would owe the store a 15% commission. The comment came across as rude, unnecessary, and frankly absurd considering the store had already made it clear they had no interest in the transaction themselves. To avoid any issues, we left the store and sat on a nearby bench outside. A couple of minutes later, the owner/manager came outside and rudely questioned my son and the other young man about whether they were conducting business. When they answered honestly, he told us to get off "his property." The problem? We were on a bench alongside the sidewalk. What should have been a simple interaction escalated into an unnecessarily confrontational situation because of the owner's attitude and lack of basic customer service skills. Rather than treating potential customers with respect, he chose hostility, intimidation, and arrogance. Words were exchanged, and while it's doubtful he cares, he permanently lost our business. I fully understand that a business owner has the right to manage activities inside their store and maintain a professional environment. What I do not understand is the sense of entitlement and disrespect shown toward customers, especially when they were no longer on the premises. The entire encounter left the impression that the only thing that mattered was whether the owner was getting a piece of the transaction. The unfortunate reality is that behavior like this drives people away from the hobby and creates a toxic atmosphere that benefits no one. The one positive outcome from the experience was that my son and I met a genuinely nice young man and made a new friend. If you're looking for a card shop that values its customers and understands how to treat people with courtesy and respect, there are much better options in the area (BangerZ Cards, The Card Guys, etc.). We have had far better experiences elsewhere and will gladly take our business to shops that appreciate their customers.
