I live in California. Heisler's is in Pennsylvania. Dear friends of mine suffered a loss in their family and I opted to send food instead of flowers. I found Heisler's on Yelp and WOW is my review. They created a beautiful deli tray and delivered it to the family. Everything was fresh and on point! Ordering across the nation was a little daunting but Heisler's is the best! I give them FIVE THOUSAND STARS!

Today I stopped in and had purchased the Smoked Brisket w/barbeque sauce and it exceeded my expectations. Can't wait to have it again.

Vast improvement over the old space. The prepared food section is very good, especially the soups.

Let's eat together & celebrate my MIL's birthday…read more A little slice of Italy in McMurray South Hills of Pittsburgh. Craft cocktails (OMG...the SPRITZ options) & artisan wines meet an ever-changing Italian menu, all served in an effortlessly upscale setting. Perfect for date night, birthdays, or any special occasion. Pro tip: If you're celebrating, let them know!!! They'll add the guest of honor's name to the menu and the chalkboard above the kitchen. It is such a thoughtful, personal touch. Wine pick: a bottle of Zenato Valpolicella Ripassa (a must if you love red) What I ordered: smoked provolone, casa salad, cacio e pepe, chicken piccata Finished with a birthday chocolate cake...absolutely delicious Save this spot for your next celebration! Enjoy

3.5 stars. Long, detailed review... Arlecchino Ristorante is a casual-elegant Italian restaurant…read morethat is uniquely inside a one-room schoolhouse that was built in 1907. This restaurant is open for dinner and catering for dining in and takeout. It has many of the same menu items as its excellent sister restaurant Alla Famiglia. Each meal includes bread and oil, optional appetizers (e.g., meatball and mussels diavolo), a first course of salad and pasta, the chosen main course (e.g., chicken marsala, cacciatore, veal chop, and filet mignon), and then if desired dessert. Alcoholic beverages (e.g., cocktails, wines, and beers) are also available. For my husband's and my wedding anniversary, I made a reservation for Arlecchino through OpenTable. We arrived shortly after they opened for the day. Our first impressions: Valet was required for our vehicle. We felt interested in seeing the exterior and remodeled interior of the schoolhouse. Most of the restaurant was empty then, but the seating hostess took us to the worst table--the smallest table inches from the front door. I requested a different table, and she then gave us a much better one. OpenTable had said that the dress code was business casual, but other customers wore casual clothes, and a hostess wore shorts and a baggy sweatshirt hoodie. Our names were written on a chalkboard above the kitchen and on my menu but not my husband's menu. Our waiter provided timely service and spoke courteously with us. (If you are wondering how to pronounce the restaurant's name, he told me something like are-lee-kee-no or our-lee-key-no.) Here are my ratings for what my husband and I ate: Autumn Spritz - 4 stars - This spritz contained apple cider, Marie Brizard Apry, prosecco, and soda, and I liked its flavors. Smoked Provolone - 2 stars - Smoked provolone was topped with black truffles and arugula. Neither my husband nor I liked this appetizer. I took two bites, and he tried to eat half. Casa Salad - 4.5 stars - This salad consisted of mixed greens, roasted peppers, raisins, walnuts, olives, gorgonzola, and slightly too much vinaigrette. Caesar Salad - 4.5 stars - My husband ate this salad, and he said that it was his favorite food in the entire meal. Cavatappi Alla Vodka - 4 stars - My husband ate this pasta, and I took one bite, and I thought that it tasted good. Cacio E Pepe - 4 stars - Months ago at Alla Famiglia, we loved the locatelli romano cheese wheel at the tableside, so we felt excited to try it at Arlecchino. The waiter definitely mixed the linguini, cream, oil, and pepper in the cheese wheel. This cacio e pepe tasted good but not as great as what we remember from Alla Famiglia. Halibut - 3.5 stars - My main course was this special menu item. The halibut tasted bland but was served with black-tiger shrimp, carrots, tomatoes, zucchini, cauliflower, and butternut squash that added some nice flavors. I did not know the price for this fish until I saw the bill, and it was $72. Veal monzu - 4 stars - The veal was nicely breaded and fried and topped with mozzarella, jumbo lump blue crab, pine nuts, and lemon butter. My husband ate it, and my one taste-test bite indicated that it was flavorful. My husband was not interested in trying dessert, so we skipped it. Our total bill was $178 plus tax, tip, and a credit-card surcharge. Comparatively, I think that Alla Famiglia has significantly better food, but Arlecchino is worth a try.

I was referred to use Hostess Helpers from my caterer because their service for my date was already…read morefull. I chose to go with them to save myself headache of looking for another since I was going to be traveling a lot before my event. I booked them in the first week of June for a mid- August party. Shelly was nice enough to talk to but VERY disorganized. I had to give her the same information (address, start time, etc.) several times because she kept losing her paper. She called me 3 days before the party to say that the bartender canceled but she had her "feelers" out and would "try" to find another one. When I found one on my own, she had major attitude about it. She insisted that I needed 3 servers for the day and gave me a price. The day of the event, she arrived over 40 minutes late! When I should have been getting changed to be ready to greet my guests, I was walking her around to show her what needed done for the night. She only had one other server with her because she said she told the other girl to come at 6pm (even though I was paying for 3 people from 4-midnight. They did a fine job clearing plates throughout the evening but we had several behind the scenes issues. The coffee served was cold due to an issue with the pot needing run through once to heat it before making a pot. When asked to remake it, she said that she usually just makes it half regular and half decaf to mix it and people never know about it. We told her that was unacceptable because that can be a medical issue for people that cannot have caffeine. We are not sure where all the food that was left by the caters ended up and when I asked her about it, she got very angry and told me that she was told to eat dinner. I was not disputing that she should eat, just wondering where the extra food was since it clearly wasn't sent home with us. Still don't know where my extra brisket, sausage, cheese, pepperoni, and vegetables ended up! At the end of the night, she walked through the dining room taking tablecloths off the tables that still had people sitting at them. Prior to the party, I asked her for an invoice so I could pay her and she only verbally gave me the price and said I had to pay her cash. Two days after the event I got a text thanking me for the extra money I gave her. I certainly would not have knowingly given a dime extra with the attitude I had to deal with throughout the night. When I asked her what she was talking about, she said that she gave me a different price. I let her know why I would not have knowingly given her $100 extra dollars, so she called me and we spoke about it. She apologized about the issues I had, made some excuses, and agreed with several complaints. I thought my dealings with her were done. She then proceeded to send me a very unprofessional text message almost 8 hours later about how she runs a "professional business" and she has never had someone with this many complaints about her service. Any "professional business" would have issued an invoice and contract prior to the event then proceeded to meet those terms. They would have accepted a check as payment so there was record of it as well! The text she sent me was appalling, especially since she agreed with me and actually apologized for the way the party went when I spoke to her earlier in the morning. In the text, she said "We are also used to more professionally ran & classy events... Maybe high school girls would have worked out better for you!" I couldn't agree more that she did not add any class to the event. The only classless thing there was her overall service. And I am convinced that high school girls could have performed better service at a much lower rate! It was my mistake to go with the easy road and using her to serve my event. I would not make the same mistake again and hope that anyone reading this review does not make the same mistake!
