I've been wanting to try this market so was excited to finally make it there this weekend. It's bigger than I thought it would be with a nice variety of selection. Heisler's Market provides incredible customer service! I was having great difficulty finding an item (dry cottage cheese ) to be used in our family's annual Christmas Eve meal. Denny made multiple calls to vendors and followed up with me directly over 2 days to make sure I got my item! This personalized service far exceeds the larger chain grocery stores! Shout out to Heisler's. The catered a birthday party for me on Oct 18. This was the first time I used this service. The food was delicious and service//delivery was prompt. Veg tray was crisp and fresh, fruit tray was beautiful with great assortment. Sandwich ring had a large amount of meat and cheese, sliders were so thick they were difficult to hold and eat. Pasta, chicken, sausage, meatballs were amazing. Received many compliments on the food. Cost was very reasonable. I could not have made this for what I paid. Highly recommend for catering need. Workers at deli counter very rude. No numbers nor signs for a line and very disorganized. Walked up to counter from left end and 2 customers being served by two workers, walked past them to the prepared food end to see whst was svailble and then waited therevforcservice. After one customer ahead of me finished the employee then immediately served a fake blond who arrived after me. Waited that one out while about 5 more customers arrived at the other end of counter. Tried to get the employee's attention and he said I needed to get in line behind others who arrived after I had already waited over 10 minutes. Had this same jerk on previous occasions who spent more time talking on phone then listening to my questions. I attribute this to poor management. read more

Been going to Heislers for many years. Generally speaking, the hot food to-go is very good, if a bit pricey. Bought $30 worth of wings there yesterday for the Steeler game (around 12 noon). They had a "wing bar" with about 8 different types of wings. I selected 4 different kinds. Got them home and they were dry, tasteless and tough. Without exaggeration, the least tasty wings I have ever had. We were very surprised. I suspect that, in expectation of a great demand for lots of wings, they made them up too far ahead of time and they just fossilized. To their great credit, though, they fully refunded my money. We'll go back there again. These things happen. But scrutinize the wings at the "wing bar" on football game day and make sure they at least look appetizing to you. The earlier in the day you buy them, the fresher they likely will be. read more

What a hidden Gem! Excellent deli as well as hot food everyday to go. They have a chicken wing bar on Sunday's during football season that is awesome. I love the pasta salads as well as the pizza by the slice. The meat selection on the grocery side is great too. Butcher Bob's burger patties, chicken thighs and party wings are some of my go-to choices. I also really like the salmon and scallops. It's very convenient for me living in Peters and I recommend it. I wouldn't say I use it for my weekly grocery runs but definitely when we need a few things. And they sell wine as well as great beers! read more

This little supermarket has everything. We have eaten dinner and lunch here with really nice options to pick from their prepared foods. The chicken piccata and roasted potatoes with green beans were perfect for a meal. They have really nice selections and gluten free options at this little gem. After hearing all the stories about how good the hot food is I decided to try it last Friday for fish. It was beyond disappointing. The fish was reminiscent of a grade school cafeteria lunch, rubbery and old. Mac and cheese was dry and flavorless. The tuna casserole was the only good thing I bought. This is a local market. They have made huge improvements over the old store that was here. The hot food bar for lunch every day is well done. Their roasted vegetables and pizza are a take home favorite for my family. Heislers catered our first office party and it was wonderful. Everything was perfect. Everyone raved about it and we hardly had any leftovers to pack up. Chef Steven did an amazing job. The desserts were the perfect touch. I'm not sure where the other reviewers shop but I don't think that this place is at all expensive. Giant Eagle employee? The Iggle has a monopoly and no place could be more expensive. They have a good selection for the size and even have organic foods. The prepared food is very good. I like the lunch hot and cold bars. The pizza is excellent. Small market with eclectic food choices, including a hot buffet, deli and small bakery. They stock food items that you might not find elsewhere so this makes it a fun shopping experience. Prices are a bit higher than other local grocers for standard items like milk, bread, fruit, etc; but otherwise, this place is fantastic. read more

Heislers is a local store near where I live, conveniently located at the intersection of McMurray Ave and Valleybrook Rd, it is difficult to go anywhere and not run into the place. The store is kind of small but they have maximized the space they have and sell many quality items, some items like their health food selections you wont even find in the larger big box stores. The store is decorated nicely, and has that local store feeling. I love it here and am in the store almost every day for something. Yes, some items are more expensive that what you would find at a big box, the way I see it, its Peters Township, and its close, I dont have to drive to GE and contend with the Walmart traffic. As others have said their Hot Food bar is very good and its great for me to take food into work, salad bar is very good as well as is their soup bar. There isnt to much bad that can be said about this place, if you look at the negative reviews these people are all from out of town. Those of us who live near the place like it. read more

While the physical improvements to the store and the selections have improved we were disappointed in the hot foodbar items we purchased on a Sunday afternoon before the Steeler game. We purchased BBQ ribs, macaroni and cheese, and brussel sprouts. It was really expensive.......the ribs were dry, the mac and cheese nothing special and the brussel sprouts.....not very good. We bought a half a dozen cupcakes that they bring in from Bethel Bakery.......they were stale. If this store is going to succeed and continue to charge high end prices, their products are going to have to be superior not average. read more

I love Heisler's. Its near where I work (but far enough away that I don't run into coworkers while I'm on my lunch break). Their salad bar is amazingly fresh. Their homemade dressings are to die for. Honestly, I haven't ever so looked forward to eating a salad for lunch. While going for lunch I've discovered some neat health food products that I can't find anywhere else, and have really enjoyed adding to my diet. To top it off, they have Bethel Bakery products for sale, which is super convenient for special occasions. My only criticism is that it can take them a while to restock some of your favorite products. All in all though, I love this place. read more

Heisler's Dairy Bar is a perfect neighborhood grocery. It is not a 100,000 sq. ft. Super Market but a grocery store with 95% of what anyone needs. Particularly good is their deli where everything is cut fresh. Another major feature is their prepared foods which is expansive and good tasting. We visit Heisler's a couple of times a week and are never disappointed. read more
