I talked to Lisa before placing the delivery because I had concerns about items being left outside of my mothers building or my mother, who is in a delicate state, having to carry heavy groceries to her apartment. Not a positive experience at all. I found the owner, Lisa, to be unfriendly and unprofessional. Not only were my groceries delivered later than expected, but they were also poorly bagged (perhaps because she was running late?) and some of my items were damaged as a result. When I contacted the owner, she did not apologize nor did she offer to refund or replace the damaged items. I was simply told I'd have to place another order. With Giant Eagle, Shipt and Instacart now delivering to the Pittsburgh area, choosing Best Grocery Delivery Pittsburgh would be both unnecessary and unwise. * If you want same day-shipping, forget it. Best Grocery Delivery does not offer it nor do they work on weekends. If you want variety or a wide selection of items to choose from, forget that too. * Some categories have only one or two overpriced items. They do offer a limited amount of items from both Giant Eagle and Sam's Club. A very limited amount. Giant Eagle has their own delivery service now and you can shop Sam's Club's wide selection through Instacart. * This might not be a huge deal to some, but I find their website to be dated and frustrating to navigate. There's also no app and limited payment options. No support for mobile wallets such as Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal. * If you'd rather not pay twice as much as you would for the same item at other stores like Target, Giant Eagle or Shop N Save, then you should look elsewhere. Oh and Best Grocery Delivery Pittsburgh will charge you a convenient $30 fee if your order exceeds $200 - which is not hard to do with their inflated prices. Then add driver tip... Having my groceries delivered should not be an inconvenience. Best Grocery Delivery Pittsburgh is neither convenient nor economical and I do not recommend their service. Groceries are a bit expensive on the whole (1-3 dollar mark-up more on items than what I'm used to, and I tend to shop at Whole Foods), but I suppose that's what you pay when someone else is shopping for you. The website is pretty clear (missing some pictures), but altogether lots of options. The lady was friendly on the phone. Really, if I could give this lady 10 stars, I would. It's been a rough week. I've been sick with the plague. Okay, the common cold. But it's sixteen degrees outside and it feels like the plague. Having just moved back from out West, I haven't quite mastered the skill of driving in the snow. A couple of you have probably seen me on the news this winter. I'm that schmuck who gets stuck every time it snows who you make fun of. It's been snowing a lot. I was going to be screwed for groceries. I had no food in the house for the weekend. Literally, I had ages old Oscar Meyer Bologna meat and spoiled milk. Whatever, I'm a usually active single gal who goes out to eat. Don't judge. Anyways, I was desperate. So, after hearing about this kind of service and swearing to myself that i would never be lazy enough to call for a grocery delivery, I called for a grocery delivery. Yesterday. As in, not even twenty four hours ago. I went to work today for the first time all week. Lisa texts me--- do you mind if I'm early? Mind if she's early? I love her already. i come home to find out that my dog has decided that it's a really good time to also be sick. Let's just say it was gross. Then Lisa arrives. Friendly, smile on her face. Doesn't judge me for the state of my house. Apologizes for getting me the light Yoplait Yogurt instead of the regular kind. Are you kidding? I live 6 hours away, but wanted to have something that my daughter at Pitt would really like, with a personal touch, delivered to her for her birthday. I would like to say I see all these reviews and I can't help but wonder whether they are authentic or am I the only client that gets treated like this. I had this delivery three times and lived to regret all three. I have to admit she substitutes items pretty well but the whole pay for delivery is supposed to be free and its never the case with me. All I know is that I shopped 70.00 worth and wound up paying 150.00 and it was food I saw tax charges on food, not warm food but food items. I have used the service two times already and it's not the same amount but now its the tip and the delivery charges. I read on the website that it is free delivery and it is not and it's ok to charge to get out of your way and come to a person's house to deliver food. People on limited income such as myself can do other companies that deliver for 14.99 a month and that's it no tip no taxes on food. The lady that delivered here was not rude or anything like that just pricey. read more
