I have purchased 2 German Shepards from here over the past 20 years and would not consider going anywhere else! An absolute gem of a place! I also board my dogs here for extended stays without issues. They offer indoor air conditioned board rooms and outdoor board rooms at very reasonable daily prices. This place is unlike any other breeder as the entire property/estate is dedicated to their dogs and the ones they board. The dogs are served fresh/healthy meals that include vegetables, eggs and ground chicken mixed with dry kibble. Made specifically to enhance health, performance, shiny coats and the food even completely cancels bad breath and that "dog" smell.

This is our Dog Cody or Helmut V Jude. He is & years old and is a great GS. He was purchared and is boarded in Spring at Heidelburg GS.

Cody is 9 years old now. Still call Heidelberg for information and they always are wishing me best of luck with my boy! He is the best GS ever!

My dog was boarded there for the weekend. We had to pay for a bath, which she never got. She also came back with her neck all bloody. We take amazing care of our dog so it's nothing we did. We dropped her off happy and healthy. Came back skinnier and bleeding. UPDATE: we had to rush her to the vet...she has a horrible infection ALL around her neck, chest and chin. They said we were lucky to have brought her in. The infection was slowly spreading. They had to shave her neck all around.

We recently boarded our German Shepard male here and would not recommend this place to anyone. If Yelp had a way to give negative stars that is what I would rate them. We picked him up and his nose was bleeding, skin removed and has something green stuck to his nose. When asked what happened they didn't have a response as to what happened. This picture is two days after we picked him up. They sell you on how they take care of the dogs fed them fresh food, take them to play at the lake which turns out to by lies. In addition to the nose injury he has a tail injury and won't sit down.

My dogs are accustomed to being around, just our family and don't always be friend new people readily. They immediately took to the owner, Brian. Our dogs are on a diet where they have a mixture of dry and wet food that require refrigeration or freezing. That was no problem at all for the owner to accommodate. The fellas looked well cared for when my son picked them up! My son forgot to check for the dogs blankets when he picked them up and Brian kindly drove them down to the city where we live so that the dogs would have them. I will definitely use Hicks Farm again and I highly recommend them!

Before she went, I'd worked with her on sit, down, take it, leave it, and some spins with decent success. Brian took what she had and built on it, adding heel, come when called, turn, and stay. He returned a noticeably different dog. When we hit some bumps shortly after, he came back out and spent a solid hour with me going over what was actually happening...not just commands and corrections, but why she was behaving the way she was and what she needed from me to feel secure. (Spoiler: she needed me to be more confident and consistent.) He has a way of cutting straight to what matters without overcomplicating it, and more than once he said exactly the right thing at exactly the right moment. What struck me most across both experiences was how much genuine wisdom he brings to his work. He's clearly someone who has learned his craft through deep experience and observation, and it shows in every interaction with the dog and with the owner. On top of all of that, his pricing was incredibly reasonable; boarding and training combined for what many trainers charge for training alone. We felt genuinely taken care of. Kind, patient, perceptive, and exactly what we needed. Highly recommend.

Today I almost didn't come, but my Frenchie has been having ear issues again. Last year they put a medication in his ear that helped temporarily, so I came back hoping to address the same issue. This time they wanted to charge me $100 for the same medication that I later saw on Amazon for about $7. I declined the medication. After that they offered to simply clean his ears. I agreed, thinking it was a basic service, but no price was mentioned beforehand. When I received my bill, it came out to $337. I was shocked to see they charged $50 just to clean his ears without informing me of the cost before doing it. While the staff has always been polite, the pricing and lack of transparency are very disappointing. Unfortunately, after today's experience, I will not be returning. I have to agree with other reviews that the pricing here feels like a rip off.

From the start, the front staff were super kind to our lil pup for his puppy shots; he had positive experiences every time! For boarding, Chief was happy and well taken care of as he recuperated from his neutering while we were on vacation; Jasmine was so kind and even sent us a video of our pup playing in the unexpected snow in Jan 2025. We were sad to miss his first experience with snow, and thrilled to see him love the cold, white fun. Then, Dr. Kendra Delaney and the whole staff were instrumental in working with our Pet Relocation team for our international move, and promptly responded to all the timely details. Chief boarded for about a week until he flew out to meet us abroad. The staff all took amazing care of him, and our extra thank yous to Jasmine, our puppy's favorite vet tech, who noticed he was getting anxious; she promptly alerted the vet team who approached us with suggestions. We sincerely appreciate them all going the extra mile, every time.

I'd selected A Couple Of Vets when I moved to a new neighborhood over 2 years ago. My review is strictly the cold, callous manner in which we were treated for the appointment to say goodbye to my Doberman, Axel. After a very short illness of 4 days, Axel was in the clinic on May 5 of this year where following tests Dr Le kindly and empathetically delivered a terminal diagnosis, recommending euthanasia. I wasn't ready for that diagnosis and declined saying 'we'll call later'. After a very sad night watching Axel decline, I phoned the following morning set an appointment for that mornin, May 6 for euthanasia. The One Star Review We arrived at the clinic and were quickly led to what seemed to be their euthanasia room. Dr Reynolds entered and went over the diagnosis, which seemed to be different from his wife's diagnosis the prior day, and then smugly stated "This is what happens with untreated heart worm", referring to a months prior appointment with Reynolds in which Axel was diagnosed with heart worm shortly after I adopted him. Reynolds quoted $2100 for treatment, a lot for my fixed income So I called around, finding treatment for $450. That resulted 2 negative tests from different clinics. He was on continuous heart worm prevention. I'm confused on how that was possible. The issue was the smug manner in which he said that and his flawed assumption that I had chosen to ignore his initial diagnosis and didn't get treatment for Axel's heart worm it only got worse. Following Reynolds smug and false opinion regarding my medical treatment of Axel, he offered treatment that would keep Axel alive 3-6 months longer. It didn't make sense to prolong the continued suffering and eventual death of my buddy and I chose euthanasi. Reynolds left the room to insert an IV on Axel and then returned with prefilled syringes and a paper. "First, you'll need to take care of this" he said while handing me the paper. His bill for this appointment! I was shocked and confused. I ALWAYS paid immediately upon departure. Suddenly, Reynolds is treating me as if I would not or could not pay his bill of $356.82 for euthanasia and cremation. it was a heartbreaking 24 hours from diagnosis to euthanasia, and now I'm being insulted by Reynolds's assumptions and further insulted and upset that he feared I might run out on the bill. Despite paying promptly for each prior visit with both dogs. All of this BEFORE I even had to end my buddy's life. after I paid the bill, things continued poorly with a broken lift table, Reynolds wanting Axel to get on cold, stainless steel lift table with no cover. My Axel was NOT going to spend his dying moments on a cold table. And was too slippery, so I told Reynolds to get the sheepskin style cover from the broken table so we could get Axel comfortable on this lift. Holding Axel while Reynolds injected the medications. He then confirmed Axels death. All very matter of factly, with NO empathy and no compassion. I've had to put down several pets through the years and NEVER has the veterinarian been so cold and callous as Reynolds. The office sent a nice condolence card signed by staff and included flower seeds to plant in memory of Axel. All nice, but all to late to repair the damage Reynolds did that day. I get this is his job and he probably euthanizes pets regularly, but what kind of Veterinarian does so with no warmth or understanding? What kind of vet insists the bill be paid first by a promptly paying client of 2 year? My answer is A Couple Of Vets who will never see one dollar from me again. And I have told this story repeatedly to friend and neighbors. BTW: I've yet to receive the paw print I ordered.
