Without a doubt, this is the best veterinary practice that I've ever come into contact with. Recently I needed to speak to a vet - pronto - due to the fact that my daughter had a hold to adopt a dog from the Harris County Animal Shelter. The dog had a reaction to anesthesia during his required neuter surgery. Full details were relayed to me by the Harris County vet, but I wanted to consult with one of MY vets prior to proceeding with the adoption. Drs. Heimlich and Schmitt were not available, but Dr. Wolff called me back within a very short period of time. After explaining the situation, she gave me her professional opinion, spending quite a bit of time with me on the phone. We did decide to proceed with the adoption and promptly brought him for a check up (and for vaccines and meds that are not provided at the county shelter). As it so happened, Dr. Wolff was the only vet with an appointment late that afternoon, so we grabbed it. What a wonderful experience! Great manner with this new dog and with me - a client she had never met before. Visit was thorough and never rushed. I was very pleased. When we brought this new boy in for some boosters several weeks later, she had relayed all of his info and our discussions to Dr. Heimlich. I was grateful that she was so detailed in her notes regarding my phone call with her and our subsequent visit. Our dogs are truly members of our family. It's so nice to have a staff of vets that treat them with such care and concern. They are, simply, the BEST.

Let's start with the fact I use to use this vet for over 15 years with Dr Sarter. Best vet I've had! Hands down. He sold this practice and they lost all hope. When I came in with my 6 yr old Shepard, my service dog, she was deathly ill and could barely walk. Confused and willing to do anything, we did x rays. Paid extra $100 for rush review from radiologist. (Scam) I hadn't eaten so I took dog and ran down the street for food. But right before the vet came in to inform me that my dog was 'consumed with cancer'. No chance of survival. Devastated, I went and called family and when I came back, she came back with the radiologist report that 'nope. No cancer'. WHAT?!! Just WHAT?! One minute she said one thing and poof it's gone. She then told me that she had disk issues and offered shot that blocks brain from feeling pain to help her walk. Next month injection free. Paid for that. I asked her to look in dogs nose to see if obstruction. She refused and I paid and left. More confused than before. After I left, I called back and got front desk when I asked her why she wouldn't look in dogs nose. She told me she saw doctor look. (Lies). I asked her to check with doctor because no. She didn't. Doctor hit on phone and confirmed no she didn't. (I paid for it though) they then deemed me to not come back because my questioning this and then refused to give my dog the second/included/paid for shot. I was lied to by staff, told my dog had and didn't have cancer and refusal to give treatment paid for. Your choice to pay money here. God help u. But notice how old most reviews are that are good and why score higher. It's the old owner time frame and person. Dr sarter. Shame on these people

$3,000 later and 3 months later our sweet dog still not better. We took our dog for an ear…read morehematoma. They drained it twice and had surgery on it because they said that was the only way to get rid of it. Eat filled up again 3 weeks post surgery. Told me to go to a dog dermatologist or just let it burst on its own. I went back to my prior vet. I used to use them, but they are in the Woodlands and wanted someone closer. They told me draining them does not work. They put her on some meds to see if they can calm her head shaking down which may help the swelling go down. If not they will have to do proper laser surgery. I do not believe Champion Forest vet knows a lot nor has the best equipment. Almost $3,000 into this and my dog is still not better. Did they care about the dog still sick or the financial burden! No sold me some more prednisone, which the woodlands vet had me ween her off because she was on during ear drains and surgery.

When I requested my dogs' medical records so they could receive treatment for an active issue, the conversation quickly became focused on "personal responsibility" and payment, even after I explained that I intended to pay the balance and simply needed to prioritize getting my dogs treated first. I was not refusing payment. I was trying to take care of my animals. At one point, the interaction became tense, and I expressed frustration. Recognizing that, I asked to move communication into writing so everything could remain clear and documented. Despite that request, I received multiple calls and texts asking me to continue the conversation by phone rather than responding in writing. That felt inappropriate. When a client requests to communicate in writing, especially in a situation involving access to medical records, that boundary should be respected. More concerning, access to my pets' medical records appeared to be tied to payment in a way that created a barrier to timely care. Whether intended or not, it left me feeling pressured to resolve a financial issue immediately before I could ensure my dogs received treatment. Due to delays in receiving complete records, I incurred additional out-of-pocket costs at another clinic in order to proceed with necessary care. I had previously respected this clinic and the veterinarians here, which is why this experience was so jarring. I hope there is serious reflection on how these situations are handled moving forward, both in terms of policy and how clients are communicated with during stressful circumstances. No one trying to get care for their animals should leave feeling judged or pressured during that process.

The total cost of hydrotherapy is around $1500 for 12 30-minute sessions. I think that's rather high. For people who can afford to spare no expense, I'm sure this is nice. Just wish there were other lower cost options for my dog.

From the very first hello, her spirit was kind, patient, and genuinely warm welcoming. You could truly hear the smile in her voice, and that kind of energy is needed these days. I even had to call back to confirm everything, and she answered again with the same level of grace and kindness. No frustration, no change in tone just consistent excellence. That meant more than she probably realized! In a world where people are quick to point out what goes wrong, I believe it's just as important to acknowledge what goes right. Despite this, this clinic refused to perform an enema unless we repeated diagnostics and continued recommending a surgical procedure estimated around $1,000. What made the situation especially frustrating is that we were told they could not perform an enema because anesthesia would be too risky due to our cat's heart murmur, yet the surgery they recommended would also require full anesthesia. That reasoning made very little sense to us. We sought a second opinion, and another veterinarian reviewed the recent labs and took a much more practical approach. They placed our cat in a warm bath, gave him fluids for dehydration, and performed the enema without anesthesia, providing immediate relief. The second vet also explained that surgery was not appropriate given our cat's age. We understand clinics have policies, but refusing basic relief care while pushing expensive procedures was extremely frustrating while our animal was suffering. Please do not respond to this review attempting to justify the situation. We have already moved on to another clinic and will not be returning.

AAR not only responded quickly, but Sandy who I corresponded with was so caring and amazing. When I dropped the little dog off Sandy showed me the facility and it's beautiful! It definitely was a relief to know that the little guy would be in good hands. Sandy even said she'd be happy to update me on the dog's shelter journey up until adoption! I'm so grateful for rescues like AAR and the volunteers who work there because they are helping strays like the little guy I found have a chance at a new and better life. Highly recommend.

From my 80lb…read moredogs torn ACL, to our puppy who was attacked and fed through a feeding tube, to the family of kittens I brought in today with upper respiratory issues, Dr. Roberson and his team have shown us not only the best medical care, but genuine love and concern for our pets well being. They always review all of our options with us and they treat our animals like they are their own. They have also euthanized a few of our sweet babies and handled it with such love, care and kindness. I have never had such a calming and peaceful feeling about bringing my animals anywhere until I came here. I trust them 100% with all of our 28 barn cats, 5 indoor cats and 7 dogs. Two vets missed a heart murmur in my dog…read more After prescribing cough medicine for a very serious cough, it did nothing for my dog, they then needed me to do a chest x-ray on him. I had the x rays done after his symptoms progressed (episodes of passing out and loss of bodily control) and they were still confident it was lungs, though I had mentioned a previous potential heart murmur diagnosis from a year ago. X-ray shows enlarged heart and now they need an echocardiogram to be CERTAIN it's heart disease. While deciding to move forward with this vet and give them more money or find a second opinion, (a week and a half?) my dog went downhill quickly on a weekend. The emergency vet immediately heard a murmur and could say after an x ray, with 90% confidence that he had heart disease. He passed away 4/13/25. I am to blame for putting things off while trying to navigate money and these decisions with this vet who I was questioning after going back and forth with for a span of 2-3 months. I still don't understand how TWO vets miss a severe heart murmur. Fine enough vet for vaccines and what not, but if somethings going on with your animal, maybe find somewhere else. Hank was the best boy and lived a full and long life. RIP
