Worse and most heartless veterinarians who misdiagnosed my grandmother's beloved animal who had a urethral obstruction and told her it was just "stress. Took all her money running tests when they already knew the problem. The animal had to be euthanized because they wanted more money to fix their mistakes. Horrible people. They care about money, not your beloved pet.

We love A Couple of Vets! Having several dogs of our own and being involved in animal rescue, we have spent a lot of time at different vet offices over the years. The offices at A Couple of Vets are cute and clean. Staff is friendly. Prices are in line with the market. And they have gone above and beyond for our dogs when others vets wouldn't. Highly recommend!

So took my dog here for her final visit to be euthanized and not only did they not order the extra earns that were asked for, but they also didn't order the nose prints that we asked for we paid for the nose prints, and they refunded that but the extra little urns they said they never heard us say that Now that in itself is upsetting because it's the last time and objects of my dog who I had for 12 years and I love my dogs almost as much as I love my child, and when I called them to ask about this mistake, they were very rude, very abrupt and made it sound like I was upset about the $90 nose print and kept making it about the money like I was upset about the money. No I wasn't upset about the money I was upset That I no longer have the things that I asked for for my dog and then when I called to double check, they want to have an attitude with you again making it about the money so if you care at all about your animals and not just financials. I would not take your dog or cat or any animal here, all they care about is money and not the animals. They act kind and nice upfront to get you in the door but once your services are rendered, they could care less and again they just give you attitude and make it all about money when it's not about money it's about my dogs, final moments and the items I ordered and requested to memorialize her, they blamed a glitch in the memorial services computers but what it really was was incompetent staff who either was negligent or just wasn't listening again all they wanna talk about is the $90 and what I paid for I'd pay 10 times that just to have the items that I requested and the item that I paid for The sarcasm and the rudeness after speaking to them was mind blowing you would think as vets they would understand. It's not about the money. It's about the animal, but all they see when they see your animal is signs not an animal this place is just there to make money not to heal animalsagain take your animals somewhere else do research and find somewhere better than this place and I'm going to add a picture of my pup just so they have to look at it every time they read this one star review. Edit: so they called me back after they read my review, and again tried to. I guess, change my mind, or explain to me why I was mistaken, or why I should be mad at the memorial place people and not them, but again they tried to make it about the money, and, you know I'm not gonna change my mind about how they acted the sarcasm or the monetary part of it also which I didn't state in my original review is that their prices compared to other paces prices are ridiculously high, so if you want to save some money and have your dog taken care of properly go somewhere else.

Very thorough and helpful. They were a great help and explained my pet's situation and were able to create a speedy plan for his recovery.

My dogs are accustomed to being around, just our family and don't always be friend new people readily. They immediately took to the owner, Brian. Our dogs are on a diet where they have a mixture of dry and wet food that require refrigeration or freezing. That was no problem at all for the owner to accommodate. The fellas looked well cared for when my son picked them up! My son forgot to check for the dogs blankets when he picked them up and Brian kindly drove them down to the city where we live so that the dogs would have them. I will definitely use Hicks Farm again and I highly recommend them!

Before she went, I'd worked with her on sit, down, take it, leave it, and some spins with decent success. Brian took what she had and built on it, adding heel, come when called, turn, and stay. He returned a noticeably different dog. When we hit some bumps shortly after, he came back out and spent a solid hour with me going over what was actually happening...not just commands and corrections, but why she was behaving the way she was and what she needed from me to feel secure. (Spoiler: she needed me to be more confident and consistent.) He has a way of cutting straight to what matters without overcomplicating it, and more than once he said exactly the right thing at exactly the right moment. What struck me most across both experiences was how much genuine wisdom he brings to his work. He's clearly someone who has learned his craft through deep experience and observation, and it shows in every interaction with the dog and with the owner. On top of all of that, his pricing was incredibly reasonable; boarding and training combined for what many trainers charge for training alone. We felt genuinely taken care of. Kind, patient, perceptive, and exactly what we needed. Highly recommend.

My pup's cut was nice, they did decent and what was expected for when he had matts or when I decided to groom him myself (which went poorly). I was prepared for anything since the front desk couldn't give me clear answers of how he was going to look every time I took him. My puppy is low maintenance, no health or allergy issues so far. He still looked cute when we picked him up. They also did good with our family's late senior dog. But my sister's puppy has a lot of special needs. Her care was handled quite poorly and looked nothing like herself. Honestly, after seeing the owner's response to her review, I'm not sure this place can accommodate all kinds of dogs. They seem pretty firm on the one sort of cut they offer, if you have specific expectations it might be difficult for them to meet. One visit should be enough to tell if it's right for your dog and make sure to trust your first gut instinct! Edit: Hi Monica, thanks for taking the time to respond! I hope your business also takes the time to consider good faith feedback. I'm glad that Chixie has cared for lots of different dogs, we just didn't see that reflected with my sister's. We encourage future clients to ask lots of clarifying questions before booking. While every groomer is different, attending customer needs is standard for any business, so there's plenty of options in Houston, but thanks for the well wishes!

It's not a personal attack it's directly related to your service that negatively impacted my dogs grooming. The fact that you're being defensive just shows how terrible this business is. It's so disappointing to see considering how loyal my family was to this business for YEARS. I will gladly accept the before pictures, you have my number. It's rich that you keep saying that yall care about my pets safety, yet yall clearly know nothing about dogs with double coat. "Your dog's coat actually acts as an insulator," explains Dr. Jerry Klein, Chief Veterinary Officer for the AKC. "Shaving that coat to reduce shedding or supposedly to keep the dog cool also eliminates that insulating layer of fur, makes the dog susceptible to heat stroke, and can result in improper hair growth and the possibility of follicle damage. A dog's fur coat protects him from sunburn and decreases his risk of developing skin cancer." I already told yall my dog has skin issues and when I brought her in November I also told yall she was having a hard time growing fur. Shes been whining and scratching more since her grooming. Even my vet said this cut increases irritation. Maybe you should reflect on your defensiveness, practice your dog grooming skills and work on your business ethics. The unprofessionalism is truly appalling.

Today I almost didn't come, but my Frenchie has been having ear issues again. Last year they put a medication in his ear that helped temporarily, so I came back hoping to address the same issue. This time they wanted to charge me $100 for the same medication that I later saw on Amazon for about $7. I declined the medication. After that they offered to simply clean his ears. I agreed, thinking it was a basic service, but no price was mentioned beforehand. When I received my bill, it came out to $337. I was shocked to see they charged $50 just to clean his ears without informing me of the cost before doing it. While the staff has always been polite, the pricing and lack of transparency are very disappointing. Unfortunately, after today's experience, I will not be returning. I have to agree with other reviews that the pricing here feels like a rip off.

From the start, the front staff were super kind to our lil pup for his puppy shots; he had positive experiences every time! For boarding, Chief was happy and well taken care of as he recuperated from his neutering while we were on vacation; Jasmine was so kind and even sent us a video of our pup playing in the unexpected snow in Jan 2025. We were sad to miss his first experience with snow, and thrilled to see him love the cold, white fun. Then, Dr. Kendra Delaney and the whole staff were instrumental in working with our Pet Relocation team for our international move, and promptly responded to all the timely details. Chief boarded for about a week until he flew out to meet us abroad. The staff all took amazing care of him, and our extra thank yous to Jasmine, our puppy's favorite vet tech, who noticed he was getting anxious; she promptly alerted the vet team who approached us with suggestions. We sincerely appreciate them all going the extra mile, every time.
