Food truck menu as of 10/13/2025

Flavor bomb! The staff were efficient and effective handling orders and food prep. The food truck dynamic is standard across most. The lack of prices on the side was a bit frustrating, I prefer to decide on my food based on the prices. We ordered a gyro which came chock full of ingredients. I think the unique ingredient is banana peppers! Super good. The meat and sauces were flavorful. $14 for one of these seems a bit steep to me, but for a quick and easy lunch, I'd recommend it.

Quick and kind service, definitely worth the line. Gyro Pita - 9/10 Very nicely seasoned, salty and acidic combo works well. Good amount of food, even if messy. Peppercinis add a nice amount of heat.

Hefty Gyro is my gyro! A gyro pita and a side of falafel at Food Truck Friday in Idlewild Park in Reno from a Sacramento food truck. The pita is warm and holds together the lamb meat, tzatziki sauce and fresh vegetables just fine. It was a perfect pita wrap. The falafel was not made into patties it was more freeform chunks. Some were very crispy and others near to doughy. The taste was ok but texture off. A small cup of sauce would have helped. I enjoyed the meal but the falafel has to be in patties that cook evenly. The pita is worth another visit so stop by and try it or one of the other wonderful looking items on the menu.

Every time they come to Travis Air Force Base with a food truck, I go to Hefty Gyros. Their Gyro Pita is fire. There fries are fire. Hummus is fire. Everything is so good and the customer service is great. Plus, the speed at which they make food is unheard of. 5 out of 5 and highly recommend!

Hefty Gyros was one of the food trucks at my work today that comes every Friday and I finally decided to check them out for lunch. I ordered the Chicken on Rice plate which is a HEFTY amount of food - it comes with rice, chicken, a salad, pita bread, hummus and even fries! Everything was nicely seasoned and you definitely get some bang for your buck! So filling! Service was friendly and quick! I can't really comment on the ambiance as it is a food truck, but you can tell their food is fresh and there was a longer line to order than the other food trucks that were around. I love Mediterranean food and I can definitely see myself ordering from them again!

So good! That's all you need to know. Everything on their menu was amazing, but their fries? Those were the main event right there! 10/10. Had the chance to try them at a work event and I honestly wished I lived closer to their pop areas so that I can enjoy it over and over again. The staff was super friendly and had great energy even with the mass amount of people they had coming to their window. I got the fries with a combo meat option and it was so loaded up you had a good bite each time. Can't wait for another opportunity to have their food again.

We hired the hefty gyro food truck for a work event. Their service, food, and professionalism was wonderful and we would definitely hire them again! Thank you Mo & Womad for your great onsite service! Everyone enjoyed it!

Best waffle I've ever tried! He came out super quick and the staff was very nice. I tried it while I was at the winter. Wonderland and I was happy. They were tables to sit out around. Definitely change my past experiences that I have had with Mediterranean food.

Definitely would love to try this again! Food was delivered ASAP! Great service and great food overall! They fill this plate up with everything! Give them a try and look out for their next event.

Food: Loved Hefty Gyros combo style plate. Chicken, meat, veggies, tzatziki, humus, and pita. You gear a lot of bang for your buck. Easily 2 meals in 1 large plate. Flavorful and fresh sums it up. I will be back again for sure. Ambiance: Friendly and patient staff. Quick turnaround with the order. Fun environment since this was at an outside event. Definitely hit the spot on many marks. Parking: Food truck pop-up locations so there's parking all around. Always nice to go to an event and see them there.

I got the tikka combo which involves skewered lamb and chicken over rice. There's some hummus, a big piece of bread, and a salad involved. Overall, I thought everything could have been more flavorful. While I'm a sauce man, if a place doesn't beg me to ask for sauce or add more, I'm pretty impressed. Further, the lamb was kind of tough. Perhaps, some of the other items could be better. They seem to have some nice baked good options. I guess the $ is competitive, but for $20+ for an entree and soda... Service: order at the register. Not too much conversation involved. Maybe about 4 tables available to dine in.

They are located inside a Mediterranean market. We ordered from the bakery, but, paid over in the market. I got their beef shawarma sandwich, while my coworkers went with the chicken. It took a few minutes before our sandwiches were done. The sandwich was big and a very good value for the price they charge. The problem I had was with the meat as it was very gristly. The beef was marinated well, and came with tomatoes and onions. They were okay. I can't complain much as the price was very reasonable.

There was a couple taking a little bit of extra time to order, so I was called to the counter By Gemma. She is definitely an asset to that restaurant. She was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, personable, throughout my meal, we chatted a little bit, as she came by my table every now and then to make sure everything was OK. You order, they give you a number, and then they bring your food to the table. The menu was large, with appetizers, burgers, gyro,, salads, and desserts. I decided to start with the dip trio. I asked Gemma if it was a large serving, , and she said "not really" . *SPOILER ALERT* it was.... The Baba ganoush had a wonderful. Roasted flavor and you could definitely taste the eggplant, that tzaziki had a wonderful "Tang" to it, which kept it from being too rich, and the hummus was creamy, and delicious. Nothing overwhelmed each other. There was a bit of red pepper on top of the hummus that gave it a tiny kick. There was a generous amount of pita to go with it. I loved the olives. They had a nice briny flavor to them. I normally don't care for green olives, but these were amazing. For my main course, I ordered the chicken pita bowl. Chicken Gyro meat, arugula, lettuce, red onion, tomatoes, tzatziki, and I had a choice of regular or spicy aïoli. Again, I asked her how spicy the spicy aioli was, and she said it was a bit spicy. I decided to try the spicy aïoli, and she offered to put it on the side. That was also very nice I had a choice of Greek fries or rice, and I chose to have half-and-half. The fries were more like small wedges, and they were tender and well seasoned. The rice was just your average white rice, but it did have a very good texture The chicken was tender and flavorful, and again, everything played very well with each other. The spicy aïoli was about halfway up the scale of what I like for spicy, but it had an amazing flavor. I mixed everything together, including the spicy aïoli, and it made for the perfect bite. It came with a few more pieces of that tender pita bread. I ended up with about half of my dip trio, and half of my main course. Enough to take Home for another full menu. The price is on the higher end, but for the amount of the amazing food you get, it was definitely worth it. I will be back. Thank you.

Staff: very very friendly and helpful. I had asked about ingredients used in their entrees and they were very diligent in providing that information. In fact, they had a binder that described all the spices and ingredients used- very very helpful for those with allergy tolerances A+. So what did we order: 1) lamb and beef gyro with lavash bread. this item was huge and our dining companion enjoyed her gyro and could not finish her entree. her greek fries with deep fried potato cubes slightly seasoned. 2) Lamb burger was a very thick patty that consisted of a moist and tender texture. the seasoning was not overt and the brioche bun was good. her only concern was the actual size of the burger. although it was a thick burger the circumference of the burger was a bit small. But she also had all her burger fixins (peppers, cheese, arugula, sauce) on the side which might have made the burger smaller visually. But she did enjoy the flavor. 3) Roasted 1/2 chicken w/rice/chickpeas entree had a nice mild flavor. However, the chicken breast was a little over cooked, but the bird was actually a bit small which might have been the reason it was a little over done. However, the rice and chickpeas peas had a nice flavor which made consuming the dried pieces of chicken breast a little easier to eat. 4) baba ghanoush: this was very very good. it had a hint of lemon which made this appetizer fresher and was a the star of our dining experience. Plus their pita bread is so so soft. yum. Again- staff were very accommodating and provided a nice array of containers for our leftovers.
