Came to eat as my cousin was in town and we heard there is new ownership. First time here, was a bit bland so was excited to try it again because they have a large selection. New owners got that flavor down! Taste just like home cooking and their sauces are perfect! They were doing a fundraiser for a local dance group so it was a big crowd, even with that happening and everyone moving they were greeting and welcoming everyone as they came in! You can tell they are a big part of the community as well as they greeted everyone with catching up briefly and hearing the congrats. Makes you really feel like you are at home visiting family. They have a wide selection for milk teas! I tried a green Thai tea for the first time, and I'm in love! Will be going back for that in the future! We ordered the big family platter to give us a variety favorites to try, I would recommend it all! Started recommending it out to local friends in the area, looking forward to going back! read more

I had the Hmong sausage. At first glance, I thought it was too expensive and not worth the price but I quickly changed my mind after I ate it. The sticky rice was perfectly cooked and the sausage was very tasty. The added veggies balanced the meal perfectly. I would definitely recommend and be back. read more

What a gem! Family owned restaurant that serves Lao and Thai food. Love the ambiance, the visual menu of food and drinks that gave you a real look to what you're ordering. This place has been running for about 4 years but kept so well that it looks pretty new still. Place was clean and service was excellent. What we had: KaH poon, Lao sausage, a grilled pork plate, lychee drink and Vietnamese coffee. We enjoyed every bite! Nothing went to waste and will definitely be back. Husband really raved about the best sausage he has ever eaten hahahhah I didn't have any so I cant say YAH GET IT - BUT he knows his food so you probably should. It's in the hood but plenty of parking, lot was clean and we will definitely come again! Ohh they will ask you if you want their special hot sauce....SAY no if you are not used to FYA!!! Lol my daughter took one small sample with her food and she didn't repeat such action hahahha Husband on the other hand was loving it. read more

I got to try this place thru door dash. I was overwhelmed by all the choices on the menu, but I decided to go with the Basil pork belly. The food was delivered timely. I think the portion is a little small for the price, but the food was solid. The basil pork belly was flavorful and paired nicely with the white rice. Next time I try this place, I will have to try something from their drink menu. read more

Saturday, 4/25/2026 - We decided to try Cocomilk Cafe. Address is 6519 Savings Pl Ste 225, Sacramento, CA 95828. They are located in the same area/corner where Firehouse Crawfish restaurant and Pipo Ramen & Rice restaurant is. You order your food at the counter and then they bring you your foods. There's plenty of parking. Upon arrival... Pros 1) staffs were very nice and professional. 2) we got the beef laab and pad see ew. Both dishes were good. Mochi waffles were good. Had nice big chunks of coconut in it. Water tasted good. No funky taste to water. 3) our table looked cleaned, cups, plates and utensils clean. 4) server brought us a plate each with utensils and 1 napkin per person. I didn't see additional napkins on the table. 5) there are cute little anime toys there. 6) they have little jars of jabong you can buy. 7) Cons 1) the people with me didn't like their drinks. Ube boba and Thai tea didn't taste good. It didn't taste bad either. It's like something was missing they said. But they were nice enough to add more milk to the Thai tea. 2) 3) Conclusion I like this little restaurant. There's lots plates I wanted to try. So I'll have to come here again to try different plates. To me, I love the mochi Waffle. There's chunky coconut flesh in each. And it's very mochi-y, just the way I like it. Our food dishes were good. Staffs nice. Plenty of parking. No issues with parking. There's only one bathroom (1 stall) for both men and women. You just gotta wait your turn. Bathroom ran out of paper towels. We would come here again. read more

I almost forgot about this place until recently. I wanted to serve simple dessert for Chinese New Year dinner and remembered their Mochi Layers because it's pretty on a plate! My goodness, it's been a couple of years since I last visited. I ordered online and was ready for pick up when I arrive. Easy peasy! The restaurant look the same with few tables for dine in. I need to make an effort to come back for lunch or dinner. read more

First time eating here under new management. Service was excellent! Food was deliciously yummy and good portions. Our spicy Khaopoon was just perfect to taste. I added extra chile oil to mine as I love SPICY foods. The crispy pork belly was very tender and crispy. The crispy rice salad (Nam Khao) was really good. The waffle taro dessert was a plus to finish our meal. We finished everything we order. Will definitely be returning and referring families and friends. You gotta check this place out and I promise you won't regret it! Amazingly delicious food with prompt and friendly services! read more

We came here on a Sunday to try some Lao food. They also have an extensive drink menu ( boba teas). We ordered 4 dishes: Papaya Salad ( Lao style) which was very salty, Lao sausage, Grilled chicken which tasted old, Laab which ended up being sold out. Not sure if this was an off day since they had good reviews but service was awful. Our food seriously took 50 minutes, almost an hour. Then they told me they sold out of Laab when they served us the food at the table. They didn't even offer water. It was unfortunate. People before me were waiting a long time for their food. Overall, food was 7 out of 10 and service was 0/10. read more

Visited the Cocomilk Cafe with a friend. First time visiting this spot and it is tucked away in a little plaza. The space is clean and well kept. It was nice and bright inside and decorated. They have a cool gashapon machine with several anime characters, like Pokemon, Hello Kitty, and Demon Slayer. Although it was sort of expensive, 15 bucks worth of coins which you can exchange at the cashier. They have it prepared in a cup for you, which is nice. The food came pretty quick and the food was simple and good. Nothing fancy. Just good and feels homemade. I got the grilled chicken platter and my friend got the heavenly beef with a side of the pandan coco mochi. The chicken was juicy and good and it was covered in a sweet sauce. My friend liked the heavenly beef. It wasn't dry. Each dish came with veggies, rice, and a small cup of like nuoc nam, which is sweet fish sauce with peppers. The pandan coco mochi was especially good. It had fried coconut flakes inside and tasted sweet and savory. Definitely a must try. They have way more desserts that I would come back for. Overall, this place was good and the food felt homey. The service was good too and the people are very nice and will answer your questions if you had any while ordering read more

Really quick. Ran out couple things, wanted custard purple rice instead went with mochi waffle and no more pork tapioca so went with beef laab and got lao sausage and Thai tea. Should've ordered one or two less things for one person. Quick and friendly service. Menu and playing well thought out. That tea was not too sweet and I believe uses a non dairy creamer. Would come back to try other savory dishes and desserts. Quiet relatively because most orders are take out. read more

I had the crispy belly and I really haven't had good crispy belly and rice like that in a long time! Perfect crunch, flavor and tenderness. Delicious, place was clean and bright. Would definitely come back next time I'm around! read more

Cocomilk has cute desserts, and a variety of drinks. Located in a strip mall with ample parking. Great variety of food, desserts, and drinks at decent prices! I tried the Layers Dessert which came in a cute little box! Pretty good! It reminded me of the Vietnamese desserts but these were even prettier! Taste was as expected, and has a tapioca like chewy texture to it. And not too sweet. The laab was good too and came with sticky rice! The strawberry coco drink was fine, and also as anticipated! Service was nice and normal. Overall, nice to try if you're in the area! read more

The service and atmosphere was great. Quick ordering, food came out fairly fast, the music and feel of the place is enjoyable. The food was okay, we got the Nam Khao, egg rolls, Heavenly Beef, and Steak Laab which actually turned out to be chicken so that was a bit disappointing. They got my order wrong. The Jeow Bong is decent, a little sweet for me, and the 3 pepper I thought could've been spicier. Their drinks however are really good, we got the Strawberry Gem, Honey Dew Smoothy, Pandan Dream, and Coco Matcha. The Pandan Dream and Honey Dew was definitely my favorites and I don't really drink Boba nor Smoothies. read more

Was craving Lao food and decided to try this place. Parking lot was not that big but we came around 6pm and were able to park in front of the restaurant. We were visiting town for my brother's wedding when my sister-in-law and her boyfriend introduced us to this spot for dessert after dinner across the parking lot. From the very first visit, we were impressed. Our party of four ordered six different items, and honestly, every single one was delicious. We loved it so much that we returned another day for dinner and ended up ordering ten different items from the menu. Once again, everything was excellent. What stood out most was how flavorful everything tasted without feeling greasy, overly sweet, or too heavy. The ingredients in both the savory dishes and desserts complemented each other really well, and you could tell a lot of thought went into the flavors and presentation. The staff were consistently warm, friendly, and welcoming throughout all of our visits, which made the experience even better. On our final day in town, we had a group of 18 people after a sushi feast and decided to order a large variety of desserts from here. The only downside we experienced was that the online menu didn't fully match what was actually available in the store. Since our group coordinated orders remotely, about one-third of the items selected online were unavailable when we went to pick everything up, so we had to reorganize several orders at the last minute. Even with that small inconvenience, we absolutely loved this place and would happily return the next time we're in town. read more

ABSOLUTE MUST-VISIT: Coco Milk Cafe If you love real flavor, bold spice, and soul-hugging desserts, Coco Milk Cafe is IT. I started with the Pandan Dream drink creamy, fragrant, and perfectly balanced. Then came the Thai tea boba, rich and smooth with that deep tea flavor that hits just right. Now let's talk FOOD. I ordered the Thai curry EXTRA spicy (because yes, I love spice), and wow... they nailed it. Not fake heat. Not bland "spicy." It was perfectly good and spicy flavorful, warming, and deeply satisfying. My friend had the Lao-style papaya salad, which is her all-time favorite, and she LOVED it. Fresh, tangy, punchy, and done exactly the way it should be. To finish, we had the warm coco boba, and honestly... it filled our soul . Comfort in a cup. I also tried the pandan coco mochi, soft and dreamy--and the sweetest surprise? The person working behind the counter gave us extra. That alone tells you everything about the vibe here. Service deserves a shout-out: The workers were fast, efficient, and genuinely friendly. No attitude, no long waits, just good energy and care. This is one of those places where: * the flavors are bold * the spice is REAL * the desserts feel like a warm hug * and you leave already planning your next visit Coco Milk Cafe isn't just food--it's an experience. Fun place full of toys and colorful decor! Mango sticky rice with different color blocks of rice is delicious! We also ordered mini waffles with Nutella. They are kinda rubbery, especially if you don't eat them right away. The bahn mi bun is pretty good, but you only get one per order. Each time we've gone, there was no wait but the staff works slow. This has become my family's latest go to restaurant. We're fans of the food and desserts. On our first visit, we got the crispy pork belly, grilled steak and steak laab for our entrees. The pork belly was deep fried to perfection, crispy on the outisde with the meat staying tender. I've never had laab before so it was a refreshing new dish for me. It was citrusy with some tang from the onions and little kick from the spicy pepper. After our meal, we ordered the mochi waffle and sticky rice for dessert. The mochi waffle was crunchy with bits of fresh coconut on the inside. The sticky rice was exactly how I liked it especially since the mango was nice and ripe. On my second visit, I got the mochi layers, coco taro cups and strawberry gems. The desserts with great but the drink not so much. It was too sweet and I wasn't a fan of all the toppings. Our family was in town which was an excuse to order almost everything on the menu. We got the pork tapioca, khao piak, laab chicken & steak, grilled chicken & beef, lao sausage and crispy belly. Every dish was a hit, with the standouts being the lao sausage, pork tapioca and khao piak. I'm glad my family is adventurous because I wouldn't have ordered those items. We finished up our meal with the mochi waffle. Cocomilk is located in South Sacramento in a strip mall away from the main section of Little Vietnam. We've never had parking issues. Service has always been very friendly and efficient. Probably my favorite local restaurant discovery this year, which I've already revisited several times! Though I'd seen it in passing scrolling thru Yelp, the name and photos initially led me to believe it was a local dessert/boba shop rather than an actual sit-down restaurant. It turns out they actually offer an extensive variety of Laotian and Thai eats, the majority of which are unique street-food style dishes that that would be tough to find anywhere else. My favorite so far is the Lao Sausage-- juicy pork sausages with a fragrant, rich flavor profile consisting of kaffir lime, lemongrass and chili as the primary notes. The desserts here are also super yummy and overall very light and refreshing! While they're all pretty unique, the durian rice is an especially memorable concoction with durian and egg strings atop a bed of fragrant coconut sticky rice that was rich in flavor but not too overwhelming, even to those not yet unaccustomed to durian desserts :^) I would also recommend any of the other ones we've tried so far: -Mango sticky rice: fresh honey mangoes and the coconut cream on top is to die for! -Coco cups: pro tip- get half and half pandan sago and ube taro to try both flavors, equally good and perfect if you just want a tiny bite of something sweet to tie up your meal -Coco cassava: light chewy texture, very refreshing for the palate 5 stars for service -- during our first visit, there was a miscommunication in which we were waiting around for ~20 min for the dessert that we'd ordered, while they were waiting for us to pay (not realizing we were supposed to pay in advance, as we were dining in) but the owner profusely apologized and graciously threw in a complimentary dessert to make up for the situation. I'm already anticipating many more visits here to try more of their desserts as well as their extensive selection of drinks. They offer various flavors of coconut water blends as well as a creamier version with coconut creamer in case you're in the mood for something a lil more indulgent. If southeast Asian street food and light, not-to-sweet desserts are up your alley, highly recommend checking out this cute little family-owned shop! read more

I first learned of this establishment at the World of Dumplings event in SF earlier in 2024. They were serving tapioca dumplings and by the time I was able to order from them, they only had vegan ones left. The vegan tapioca dumplings were so good, I felt like I tag to try the pork version. However, the restaurant is all the way up Sacramento area, so I bookmarked this place with intention to there if I happen to be in the area. Which brings me to this review... We happened to be in the area and stopped by. The restaurant is spacious and clean. It has an interesting set up. The restaurant feels like a blend of a game room (with gacha and boardgames), dessert cafe, tea salon (with various cutely packaged Ukrainian teas), laotian restaurant, and "paint nite" art studio. It's definitely quite interesting. The staff were very friendly. We ordered the papaya salad in Lao style, the pork, tapioca dumplings, the nam khao (crispy rice salad), and coco cassava. Papaya salad was good, definitely stronger in fish sauce flavor than the Thai variation. The pork tapioca dumplings were delicious! They were sweet savory and tasted incredibly similar to the vegan version I had at the dumpling festival. The owner said the seasoning was the same, just the protein was different. Tofu vs pork. The nam khao was interesting. It's a stir fried scorched rice dish containing (nurungi aka guo ba) pieces of pork sausage, peanuts, scallions, fish sauce and other ingredients. You eat it like a taco, with the provided lettuce. The coco cassava was chilled and rolled in shredded coconut. It wasn't too sweet and was tasty. Actually everything we tried was delicious. We were then curious about the various teas on display. We got to try some tea samples and purchased a container of the soursop tea (which was surprisingly light and fruity). The owner brought out 2 pieces of mochi layers (pandan and ube flavored) for us to try to go with our tea. The mochi layers were really pretty. Each layer is steamed one at a time to make this dessert. It was really flavorful and not too sweet as well. Overall, glad we stopped by and finally tried the pork tapioca dumplings. We had a great time and would be back when we are in the area. read more

Went for their 8 pieces of steamed layer cakes. The pandan & taro flavors are very tasty, not overpowering & the designs looks very glossy and beautiful in person. The cakes all still had a nice bouncy texture & you can still pull the layers apart. I also bought their laos style papaya and it was not very "laos style". There were many missing ingredients (crab/shrimp paste, padaek, tamarind, etc.). The papaya pretty much tasted like thai style and they just added dark fermented liquid to make it laos style. It wasnt bad, but it's also something I wouldn't continue to order. Their service was good. There weren't many people when I got there, so they were pretty quick with the food I ordered. read more

Delicious Lao/Thai spot for lunch or dinner! Service was great - I loved how they gave us complimentary hot tea with our food and the cafe is bright, cute and open. We only tried their food, but I want to come back for desserts ASAP. Super affordable - four dishes came out to be about $60 and it was enough to fill up three of us. Our favorites were the Crispy Rice Salad (4.5/5), which was crunchy, sour, and had lots of chunks of sausage, and the Thai style Papaya Salad (5/5) which was refreshing sweet and sour. The Lao Sausage (4/5) is also a must w lots of lemongrass flavor! The Khao Poon (3.5/5) was warm and comforting but I don't know if I would get it again or try the Khao Paik. Overall amazing spot for flavorful food on a budget. read more

Service: The owner (older gentleman) was polite and welcoming at the register. However, their server seemed less attentive. We had trouble getting her attention for help or questions on some of the orders. A bit more training could really improve the experience. Food: The dishes looked appealing, but the flavors fell short. Many items lacked the depth and boldness you'd expect from authentic Laotian and Thai cuisine. Overall: We were excited to try this place and were rooting for it. With improvements in service consistency and more authentic, flavorful dishes, it may have some potential. read more
