This food truck came to my work for Hospital Week. It was my first time trying them and I'm happy to say I really liked their burger. Their dragon burger was a quarter pound tri-tip patty with cheese, onion, pickles, and a special sauce. It was a really good burger in my opinion, I also liked the special sauce on it. It wasn't spicy or overpowering. The more I ate the burger, the tastier it became. It didn't come with lettuce or tomatoes which was fine with me. Service was pretty quick. Attended the World Cup USA vs Turkey watch party at (Formerly Cesar Chavez Park (Downtown Plaza Park now apparently). And one of the food trucks there happened to be Allen BBQ. We kept seeing there food around the park area before the game started, so we decided to give them a try. A food truck we tried with friends during a leisurely wine tasting at a local winery, Rancho Roble. The options were interesting and they were quick and efficient to get the food out to you. Everything was seamless. When I attempted to make a pleasantry remark during ordering I merely got a stern look in return. OK. Chit chat wasn't part of the ordering process. I had the BBQ brisket burger that came with fries. All of it was utterly delicious and well prepared. It came in a nicely made disposable box. The brisket was so tender and melted like butter, almost, but it was a bit messy to eat. Chunks fell out that I had to pick up to eat. Take lots of napkins on this one! It also had a slaw on it, a nice compliment. The sauce was super tasty. Everyone complimented the fries. They were really good, much better than the fast food variety, except comparable to In-N-Out. Double Dragon and Fries - 7/10 Double patty with Cheese and onions, pickles, and sauce. The patties are definitely made in house, I can tell they grind it themselves. We visited the Ellen barbecue and burgers food truck at the Folsom peach Festival on 8/3. We ordered several different items, and we all enjoyed what we ordered. They have the best chili cheese fries I have ever had! A lot of times the chili on such a concoction isn't very good but this was delicious. My daughter loved her Southwest barbecue salad, and commented how good the brisket was, and my husband and son really enjoyed their burgers. I tried Allen BBQ for the first time during Sun and Soil's food truck Friday. I was super excited to try them out, with this heat some bbq sounded great. I walked up and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff. They answered my questions and even gave me a sample of the brisket. It was a good two bite sample too!! I ended up ordering the Double Dragon Burger as well as a Brisket Sandwich, both came with fries and I upgraded one for $2 to onion rings. I was given a buzzer after I ordered to let me know when everything was ready and headed inside into the air conditioning while they prepared everything. I hope they have AC on the truck because it was HOT today. The order didn't take too long and they made sure to ask what sauces I would like to go with the food. I opted for the Dragon Sauce which is their signature sauce. I took the food to go and headed straight home to enjoy it with my husband (and our dog had a few fries). The burger was really tasty and they definitely have a high quality ground beef and their own seasoning blend. I wish they used dill pickles, I think the dill and vinegar would have complimented the burger really well. Sweet pickles typically aren't my thing for sandwiches. I also think this would have added to the brisket sandwich experience too. Both were still really tasty though and the onion rings and fries were good too. We attended an event at one of the vineyards in Lodi and Allen BBQ provided the food. We were looking forward to the barbecue but it wasn't good. After waiting an hour in line I had the chicken barbecue sandwich and my daughter had the Mac n cheese with pieces of meat. Neither of us were happy with our food. My sandwich was mostly coleslaw with tiny pieces of chicken, so disappointing. It was one of the vineyards that doesn't have food so we didn't have any other options. We learned our lesson and will eat before we go. At least my sandwich came with fries that were good since it's always a good idea to accompany wine with food. read more

Yesterday we were at Sac Stste football game, 10/19/2024. We ordered a double dragon burger and the barbecue chicken salad. We gave $5 cash tip , because prior experience with vendor. Our order took 12-15 min. We didn't receive a message from the electronic buzzer; we had to to up to window to ask the status. The gal at the window said "oh here it is." She reached to the bottom shelf and pulled up a box of food, what???? My husband said burger was good. My salad had skimpy chicken pieces, some dry, and very little dressing. My husband and I decided to give this food truck a try tonight in Elk Grove. We got the brisket fries to share and he got the burger. My GOODNESS the fries were delicious - the flavor of the brisket was AMAZING! I'm a tough critic when it comes to BBQ and this is by far the best brisket I've had in Elk Grove & probably sac in general. There is nothing around here that tastes even remotely like Texas BBQ.
