Dropped my car off with a specific request to find the source of a noise and fix that issue. They…read moremisdiagnosed and told me the noise wasn't a safety concern and if we could live with it then that is what they suggested. AC was making a sound when turned the AC on and off. They said I needed to fix several other issues, which we did. We try our best to keep up with maintenance as needed. When we went to pick it later that day, they then said they found the source of the noise we were originally supposed to find and it needs to be fixed. So I spent $800 on things that would need to be done in the future but weren't pertinent at the time. So now I need to come back or go somewhere else and fix the original issue. Which is a problem with the cooling fans and must be done. It felt like we were scammed and we talked about the original issue several times and they played dumb acting like they couldn't find the problem until we showed up after spending $800 of added work that could've been done later. I could've used that $800 to fix the real issue and do the other stuff later. They just lost out on the opportunity to be my mechanic as we just moved up here and that I would use for years to come. Hope the $800 was worth the $10k or probably more yall will miss out on over the next decade. I wish I could find a great mechanic that was honest and not feel like I'm at the hospital and they are just running up the bill with all the tests and visits from numerous doctors and nurses. I can't say I would recommend this place. Sure they fixed some issues but not the real issue and now want us to come back and fix the real problem with more money. I brought the truck to Ray Blackburn expecting to need an alternator and/or a battery. The guy behind the desk didn't waste my time or my money. He explained that the GMC Sierras automatically turn off the alternator when the battery is fully charged. I appreciate their honesty and great service. I recommended the shop to my sister. Her Toyota Sequoia failed state inspection. Ray Blackburn correctly diagnosed the problem and repaired it. I would go to the shop again.

The bathroom has a little basket with items to refresh yourself. Honestly was the best auto shop lounge area I've ever been in. I appreciate Bryan and Richard for taking care of my vehicle needs. I dropped my vehicle off while I was going out of town. When I returned, the car was not ready yet, as I had hoped to get it straight from the airport. I was thankful that they sent an Uber to take me back to the shop when the car was ready because I do not live close. It was only convenient to drop it there because it's not too far from IAH. Richard noticed something didn't sound right as I was about to leave and made sure it was fixed before I drove off.

I paid $700 in total. The mechanic told me the issue would be resolved after replacement. However, within a few days, the same check engine code returned and the issue was not fixed. A second mechanic and 3rd at muffler shop later confirmed the installed converter appears to be a generic unit that may not be sufficient for this vehicle. I had to replace the installed one again with the proper one and pay additional $500, I tried contacting the business for follow-up but did not receive a response. I am sharing my experience so others are aware. I do not recommend using him.

My previous vehicle made it to 305,800 miles under Phong's care before I traded it in and my current one will hit 200k miles soon. Again, I've been a customer for 15 years (and hopefully several more) and I have never had a negative experience with neither Kim nor Phong. And to the person who doubts their vehicle can get repaired the same day as drop-off, yes Japan Car Care can make it happen. Believe it. They have done this for me multiple times, if it's not possible then they'll be honest and tell you up-front so you can arrange for another way home. I'll drop off the vehicle and work in the lobby or catch a ride to Barnes & Noble and return once I'm notified the vehicle is ready. They are organized and have a great relationship with their suppliers so the parts do arrive quickly. The shop ran pretty well before Kim came on board but once she came in, she helped streamline the process and smoothed everything out. I have actually witnessed people come in and try to go past her to get to Phong and that just isn't the way it works. If you speak to Kim with respect and tell her what your needs are, then you'll get taken care of. She is the gate-keeper, helps her husband stay organized and ensures that none of the small details are overlooked. They may not always tell you what you want to hear in regards to your vehicle, but what you need to hear. They do high quality work and do their best to get you back on the road as quickly as possible. I highly recommend this shop and will continue to bring my current and any future vehicles here.

When the tow truck took me and my car to this shop it was just not the best looking place. In the emergency I was in I let it go and called them the next day. The owner told me what was wrong and I was happy with the fact that he seemed to know what he was doing. So far so good. Fast forward 2 1/2 months and several calls that he made up excuses to not have my car ready I seriously knew the value of this location was poor. He would yell over the phone to me about my needs of my car. He would make excuses to me about why the parts weren't ready. He would cover over and over. Horrible service. I told him to put my car back together and I would tow it to the dealership. The dealership calls me and says "do you know you have transmission gears in the back of your car?" And I was floored. Champions Certified Car Care is not a place to go to for help. He kept making excuses because he didn't know how to fix my car and left gears in the back of my car. When the dealer called him and asked "why didn't you just tell him he needed a new transmission" the owner said "well I thought of that". Avoid this place!!!! Avoid it at all costs. Just go to your dealer. Pay the extra cost for the parts and get a warranty and peace of mind. I talked with AAA to get his AAA rating removed because nobody should go through this ever. On top of it all he said he wouldn't release my vehicle if I didn't pay $150 for a diagnostic fee when the law clearly states he can't hold a vehicle for longer than 60 days.
