Owners Kevin and Heather purchased this boutique winery in 2023 from an established winery, Piluso, which was one of my favorites. They've actually made some improvements, making it even more quaint than it was before. The wine is all estate grown and still great quality. Plus, you gotta love origin of heaVin, which is collaborative word play on owners Heather and Kevin's names. So, extra points for originality, too.
I went on the grand opening weekend and was able to try their wines. They also had an excellent charcuterie plate that complemented the wines served. We started things off with their white, the Estate Cuvee Blanc. It was an easy-drinking blend that would do well as a summer wine. I also enjoyed the Tempranillo and the Red Blend, which is Marechal Foch and Dolcetto, a nice combo. My favorite red was probably the Pinot Noir, which is a blend of the five varieties of that grape, giving it balanced, fruity, mellow characteristics.
The owners were very cordial, and we had a chance to visit with Kevin especially as he gave us each wine profile. I'm looking forward to returning throughout the summer as the weather gets better to enjoy their comfortable, charming winery grounds. read more
