As the event got closer, we reached out multiple times by email to confirm our reservation and finalize the menu. We received no response. We also repeatedly tried calling the only phone number listed for the restaurant, but it was not operational. It wasn't until we sent two strongly worded emails on Thursday that someone finally responded--only to tell us they had overbooked our date and were canceling our event. While they did refund our deposit, that does little to make up for the fact that we're now left scrambling to find a new venue with less than three months before our wedding. Had we not persistently followed up ourselves, it's unclear when--or if--they would have informed us. Mistakes can happen, but poor communication and waiting until the customer has to chase you down before admitting you've double-booked an event is unacceptable. If you're considering this restaurant for an important event, be aware that a confirmed reservation and deposit may not guarantee they'll actually honor your booking.

Stepping back, this farm located outside of Bryan, Tx owned by Chef Bryan and wife Amanda, both of whom are great and down to earth couple that they now have incorporated a commercial kitchen that allows them to host these type of events. As part of the spread this farm has all the normal trappings you would find, i.e. chickens, pigs, etc. The couple are relatively new to the farming scene and as part of the animal tour they share their learnings of what's worked well and what hasn't which most people don't normally like sharing any of their shortcomings. Once the farm walking tour is complete you head back to the long outdoor wooden tables and benches all backed up to one another making a nice long long table that seats about 40-50 people, all appointed nicely with decoration and candles. To add to the experience are the outdoor lights strewn above head across the tables and tree branches. Something you would see in movies. After everyone has been seated and you've had time to finish your introductions with the other people seated next to you they begin serving their 9 course meals. All of which come from either their farm or anyone of their neighbor farms. These dishes aren't large dishes but give you an idea of the varied seasonal produce Bryan and Amanda grow. All the dishes were very tasty and some better than others, but you could really taste the natural organic flavor from what they picked from that day. As far as drinks its bring your own wine or beer so that helps keep the cost per individual to a very reasonable price at about $125+ tax p/person. By the end of the night the evening is finished off in the garden area that you follow the candlelight trail where everyone gets served coffee and desert under a full moon. How cool is that! So whatever you plan on doing next months full moon, drop what your doing and come here NOW! You won't regret it and you'll be wanting to come back again.

There are also pastelitos, empanadas, and even cachapas. Lots of delicious options for filled wheat or corn flour pastries. The corn flour items are made with gluten free ingredients, although they are fried in the same oil as wheat. I love this place. Highly recommended. Ambiance: The service was amazing. They are super friendly and it was not busy at all. There is plenty of donuts and kolaches by the time I arrived (10 am). There is places to sit inside if you wanted to eat it there Donuts: I got the strawberry sprinkle, maple glaze, and blueberry. All three of those donuts have great flavor and fluffy dough. I really enjoyed the donuts and they are very cheap! Cheese Kolache: I like how the cheese is inside the sausage and the bread is so good! It was slightly sweet and very soft.

I had a hard time making a selection of treats and ended up going with the spicy boudin kolache and the breakfast croissant sandwich with bacon. Now, I am a lover of most things spicy, but the spiciness of the boudin was underwhelming. Don't get me wrong, the boudin had good flavor, texture and hit the right notes a well made boudin filling should have, just not enough spiciness for my palate. The bread wrapping it up was soft, mildly sweet and had a very nice mouth feel. I liked it very much and gobbled it down. After that morsel was scarfed, I tucked into the bacon, egg and cheese croissant sammie. The croissant was flaky and buttery like a proper croissant should be, but what really surprised me was the bacon. Crispy and sweet. Maple or honey made it a great foil against the creamy flavor of the croissant. To be sure it wasn't the croissant carrying that sweet, I picked some bread off and ate it then did the same with the bacon. For certain, that sweet was the bacon. The egg and cheese were there for texture and complimented the bacon and croissant nicely. While the prices were not too high, around the same prices as comparative items at The Kolache Factory, but the quality is at a higher level. Portion size is another Factory beater. I usually buy New York strips, Ribeye Steaks and Brisket. I love looking at all of the cuts in the meat counter. They also have a great selection of sausage. The Jalapeno & cheddar is my favorite! The service is always friendly and the store well stocked. My last trip was for New York strip steaks. I also love their house blended rubs! There's almost nothing you can't find here. They have everything from duck to Turducken. Did I mention the rotisserie chicken or divine homemade pies? Peach & Apple all delicious. Whenever I'm in town, I almost always visit Readfield to make something delicious for the family!

The store itself also seemed disorganized and not as clean as I would expect from a meat market. The display cases didn't look well-maintained, and some products appeared poorly labeled, making it hard to tell what I was purchasing. On top of that, the pricing didn't reflect the level of quality or service provided. I expected better overall professionalism and attention to detail.
