He is personable, conscientious, and always looks out for my best interest. He advises me when I have equipment issues and gives me straight honest recommendations. If he can help repair something he will and if it's not something he does he won't. Julio is so dependable and hard working, even after he had a health scare and needed time to recover he had his sons take care of his clients and was back to work probably way sooner than his doctor recommended. Like all small businesses Julio was facing pressures with rising costs for supplies and chemicals. He didn't whine and complain about his suppliers. He was transparent and fair when he needed to raise prices.. and treated his clients fairly. Worst owner! Did my moms pool in Martinez... every time there was an issue he blamed it on a dirty filter but I clean it every 3-4 months. He didn't know his business well and even tried to buy positive Yelp reviews. Worse he would send his kids to clean the pool they would spend 10 minutes throwing chemicals in, would not brush pool and never cleaned spa. When she would text Julio he would get mad n a kid would come back n spend 5 minutes there. Last straw was kids came two weeks in a row and the pool turned green and cloudy. Upon her complaint and request not to have kids back Julio said it was hot that's why the pool was green but agreed to come and fix it. Every house he went to prior to ours he sent a picture of a nice blue pool but they were having the same hot weather ‍. He told her he was losing money on her pool so he quit! I know another of his customers that is looking to replace him as well. He is rude, takes advantage of elderly people, and lies. Be warned do not use this service.! read more

I called HBPS panicked because we were closing on a purchase of a home with a pool that had been let go during the winter. Being a first time pool owner, I had no idea what to expect in terms of prices for clean-up or monthly service. On top of that, every company I called before I got a hold of Julio were gauging because it was "peak pool season", so I was being quoted ridiculously high prices for initial clean-up over the phone without anyone even seeing the pool! Admittedly, the pool was in pretty bad shape, but other companies wouldn't even send anyone out to do an assessment. Right off the bat Julio made an appointment to look at the pool and gave me a reasonable price for the initial clean-up (5 day process people!), so I signed up for monthly service happily!
