I really wanted to like these cupcakes. I'm giving this review 3 stars instead of 2 because I have only visited once and I'm hoping they were just having an off day. Let's start with the good. The store itself is adorable and the cupcakes look so delicious. A+ in presentation. Service is fantastic and so friendly. The cupcake I had was nice and moist. Now the not so good. I bought two jumbo cupcakes, a chocolate birthday for myself and a German chocolate for my mother. There was something off in the taste of the buttercream. I kept giving it a try and just didn't like it. The flavor was strange and off putting and I couldn't quite place it. I did think the chocolate cake part was just ok. It was not overly sweet and I appreciated that. I didn't finish the cupcake which is odd for me. My mother did not like the cake part of her cupcake. She said she really didn't want to finish it, but she felt bad and did. This is pretty unusual for us as we love cupcakes. I really do hope this was an off day for this place. Located in downtown Cartersville, directly across the train tracks from Mellow Mushroom sits this quaint, clean and welcoming little cupcake shop! When you walk in, you are immediately greeted by the display cases that hold all the goodies. There is a small one that holds assorted tarts and other desserts and then the larger one which holds all the goods...the cupcakes. The case held 18 varieties of cupcakes - legit, 18! We were after sampler of sorts, and with Yelp's fantastic check-in offer of "buy 3 get 1 free" we ended up with, you guessed it, 4 cupcakes in a box! Our box was made up of the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Pink Lemonade, Lime Fiesta and Peanut Butter Cup. To start, they all looked beautiful. Each cupcake was baked perfectly, each held together nicely, the frosting was beautifully piped and the decorations were lovely! Taste wise, the cupcakes didn't miss the mark for us, but they also didn't hit it. They were decent cupcakes, a tad dry, not super flavor forward. Don't get me wrong, they were tasty cupcakes, but I feel they were similar to Publix cupcakes instead of specialty bakery. In addition to the cupcakes, this place also offered service that was rivaled by few during our trip to Cartersville! The young lady working the counter was not only pleasant and friendly, but she was helpful and beyond sweet! After visiting a few shops that seemed less than enthused with our presence, walking in here was a breath of fresh cupcake-y air. Overall, this was a cute place with tasty cupcakes a great service. I am a first timer here. I am basing this review off the quality of the cupcakes since I did a pickup order. First of all, big shout out to Tamara, the cashier. She was incredibly patient with me since I had never been here before. She explained what every cupcake consisted of and she didn't get annoyed at all when I was trying to make a decision. Thank you Tamara!!! As for the cupcakes, I got a red velvet, a chocolate birthday cupcake, a Boston cream and a raspberry cream. I bought the last two for family members who are familiar with the bakery. The red velvet was ABSOLUTELY delicious!!!! Two thumbs up. I waited 24 hours before eating the second cupcake which was the chocolate birthday. It wasn't as good as the red velvet. The icing was too thick for my taste but the cake itself was still moist and incredible. The bakery has a nice, family, Christian vibe to it. They were playing Christian music when I walked in, everything was easily laid out and the whole atmosphere is just warm and inviting. These are the best cupcakes I have ever eaten. We stopped on our road trip and I tried the carrot cupcake. The cake is moist and flavorful and the frosting is perfect. It has been awhile since I stopped in, and I saw they were no longer by Moe's. They are over at the plaza across the train tracks from Mellow Mushroom, a few shops down brown the pet boutique. I work fairly close to Heaven Scent, so it's very hard for me to not go at least once a week. This tiny cupcake shop in Dallas has better cupcakes than most speciality shops in Atlanta. Out of all of the flavors they offer, I've tried probably 90% of them. Almost every cupcake has some kind of surprise filling inside, which is the best! Everything I've had has been super moist and the frosting is so soft (definitely not that hardened "I've been sitting in a case all day" feeling). I recommend the Raspberry or the Boston Creme, but really anything Paula has in her case is going to leave you wanting more. read more

Best cupcakes around hands down. Every flavor is delicious. Try the Strawberry shortcake, orange pineapple mandarin and triple chocolate -- they are top three favorites!! Was located near Moe's in Cartersville before then closed. Heard news they opened up again so we went. The pudding in one cupcake was like gelatin. It tasted very disgusting as well. The cupcakes were hard not moist at all. The frosting was overly sweetened and when I went there before, that was the only place I could eat frosting from.
