I shouldn't have been surprised to find that virtually everything at a bakery with "sweet" in its name is coated with sugar. But a glazed croissant? That's bordering on sacrilege. To me a croissant is flaky, buttery goodness. NO sugar coating. Why aren't there plain croissants? Or non-glazed cake donuts? Just disappointing. The Butterfinger donut? Something was stale with that Butterfinger. The cream filling in another one? Again a bit heavy with the sugar, and no other flavor to speak of. Yeah, I know the filling is supposed to be sweet, but not THAT sweet. So what about some savory items to balance it out? The only offering is a sausage ball. They're okay, but they weren't even warm. In fact, they were just sitting piled up on a tray on the counter, uncovered. No telling how long they'd been there. I took a chance anyway, and I'm praying I don't regret it later. I was immediately overwhelmed by everything on display when I walked in. There were cakes, donuts, macarons, etc. I was immediately drawn to the croissants (which is a croissant topped with a glaze). I was also recommended the cinnamon twist, as they are less sweet than the donuts. But everything looked really appetizing. After staring into the display for minutes, I decided on the croissant (which was as delicious as imaged), the cinnamon twist (which was large in portion and the sweetness is subtle but wonderful) and a slice of pound cake (buttery goodness with a glaze on top). The prices were decent for the amount of food I walked out with. I did not regret any of my choice and look forward to coming back to try other variety of baked goods. Not only do they display political signs like "Let's go Brandon" and signs about the vaccine, they also don't wear masks. We're in a pandemic, so that seems dangerous. Especially since it seems clear that employees don't need to be vaccinated. Also, they're glaze is waaaay too thick and grainy with sugar. Everything is toooooo sweet and their chocolate is chalky, tastes dusty, and is cheap. There are better bakeries in Rome. Ones that stay out of politics, too. Update: I have not changed my review. But in response to the reply from the owners, I'd like to say that I have never assumed whether or not another person is vaccinated. I would have no context to make that guess. These are the best donuts I have ever had. The size of them are huge and I had two. To find such a great donut in a small city in northern Georgia is amazing. Catered Donuts for Our Son's Wedding! Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! The workers did an amazing job with the set up of the donut bar (did this in lieu of a groom's cake) and it was just perfect! They went above and beyond especially because I forgot to bring the serving pieces for them to stack and display the donuts. So they were so sweet and made due with what they had and it still looked great! Of course the DONUTS were to die for! Had many guests asking where the amazing donuts came from. Well goodbye sweet bar. The food was okay, some of it was really good, but we have never been treated well by this establishment. Every time we have been there the staff treats us like we are in their way and taking our order is an imposition. But I can forgive that, what I cannot forgive is hanging a sign that we all know stands for "F@&k you Biden" and think that it's okay to say something like that to a sitting president. Best donuts in Northwest GA and they have a drive thru... just be prepared to tell them exactly what you want if you do drive thru as there are no pictures or menu to pick from.
