Maps took me what I guess was "close enough," but I was in the middle of the road. Looking around I saw a quilt flapping in the breeze. SMART! Didn't have a particular project in mind, but I have been wanting to make some more colorful tote bags. Super nice employee found me a pattern. I was in the shop a few weeks ago with an entire tribe of family while visiting for a funeral. I brought a quilt top with me that I had just finished. It is108" x 95" so I needed 10 yards+-. When we (all adults)came thru the door we were not sure they were even open because not a single one of us were greeted. After we wondered our way thru to the back of the store we realized there was in fact someone at the cutting counter, she never looked up from her cutting tasks. After we found a couple of options we inquired if there were any additional bolts in stock so that we could get our 10 yds, without hesitation, the answer was a hard NO. At that time, a colleague apeared from the office and reinforced the NO. I then inquired about ordering a bolt and I'm not sure I was even answered. I was so disappointed because they had such a wonderful selection. After leaving, we all collectively agreed that the customer service was one of the worst any of us had experienced and were glad that our money was not spent there. I'm guessing the shop does the majority of their business thru mail orders and get very little walk in business so customer service or interaction is just something they don't feel at all interested in. I hope this was just a situation of it being a bad day for the 2 ladies that were there and they normally find themselves to be friendlier, kinder and more helpful. Unfortunately a brick and mortar store will lose a sale.

There were two of us! We came in thinking it may be some kind of museum (had the word docent), found it was an art supply store! There are post cards of Nevada City, blank books so maybe sketch books, variety of chalk, variety of different art supplies! Both of us purchased items! One person purchased one of the blank books and a red crayola pen, the other person purchased a green crayola pen! These pens looks as if the person can either write with them or these pens looks as if the person can paint with them! Think her name was Elizabeth that helped us! She comments, "Each person purchased the pen that matches the color of their undershirt!" We each had two layers on, hence the undershirt, one had green, one had red! Thank you for such a great store! This will indeed be such a great place if the person is an author (green undershirt person) or if the person is an artist (red undershirt person)!
