Allot of the negative reviews are years ago and it seems like allot has changed since then!! We were greeted right away the moment we walked in! Everything was so mesmerizing,! I have been wanting to come here for two years now and finally made to time to drive out! We were not disappointed !!! So much fun things , from mermaids , to dragons , and fairy's! Absolute Terrible experience at Megacon Orlando 2026!!! Terrible customer service!!! Rude and unprofessional!!! Quoted 47$ for a blouse by one attendant. Nothing labeled or priced. After browsing, I was trying to check out and what I'm assuming is the owner approached me rudely barking "That will be 57$!" I calmly say "the other attendant stated it was 47$" the owner literally shouts "WELL YOU'VE BEEN MISQUOTED!" in the nastiest tone! The attendant right there confused and startled stated "i thought it was 47$?" Shouting over me the owner states "ITS BEEN 57$ FOR 3 YEARS NOW!" I immediately was put off by the overall interaction as it was clear they were creating pricing on the spot. The demeanor of the woman owner was disgustingly rude to me and her coworker. I would have been more than willing to purchase the garment but the blatant pricing on the spot, weird scamming selling tactics and her disgusting customer service made me decide against supporting this business. I immediately left! Also Just like previous yelp reviews below As i was browsing a male attendant had the same weird upselling demeanor, reassuring customers must try on the corsets and garments to get "fitted" before purchase quoting the overbust corsets "starting at 190$." I refused to try it on as i did not want to go through a fitting process. Went to the Massachusetts Renn fair - needed an umbrella for my children since it was ridiculously hot and there wasn't much shade. Charged me $85!!! for an umbrella and it was poor quality. When I asked why it was so much, I was told a sob story about needing as much money as they could get since she was 1 owner. Ridiculous markup on products. Last year, I attended the LA Ren Faire and found Hearts Delight vending there. They had a very nice, knowledgeable salesgirl who helped fit my daughter for a corset, and the corsets were of top-notch quality. Although the faire had a plethora of corsets, the one my daughter wanted did not come in her size. The salesgirl told me that their Ventura store had more to choose from and assured me that I would find what we were looking for there, so I drove the distance to the storefront. The moment I walked in the place, it had a completely different vibe than that of the Ren Faire. Most of the clothes were odd, and the shop featured products that were completely different from what you would find at the faire. More than that, I could not find the corsets anywhere in the shop, which had been the prominently featured items at Ren Faire. I had to ask the girl and was told that corsets were stored behind the counter. I showed the shop attendant a pic of the corset we were looking for, and she brought out about 5 corsets, none of which even resembled the one we had come for. My daughter was disappointed but proceeded to pick another from the lot we were shown. The quality was still pretty good, so I agreed to purchase one that she liked. I asked the price and explained that the Ren Faire price was $150. The sales girl said that at the store, the price was $190. Then another female employee interrupted the transaction to say that I had been quoted wrong twice now and the real price was $260. I was in shock, not so much because the price was so much higher than I had been told but because I was told something different 3 times. Do they even know the price? I feel like they made up the price on the spot. After reading the reviews here, I feel like the owners need to take courses in business management because not only do they not price things in their store, but the prices are all over the place, coupled with the fact that nobody in the place understands customer service or customer-friendly policies. Their pricing practices are incredibly deceptive. I was recently in their shop at a Renaissance fair. I was trying on corsets. I repeatedly asked the price of a couple of different options. Each time, I was told "They start at $165." I was told this even when wearing the one that I was asking about. I decided to get the corset and a simple skirt. I took out my card to pay. I had friends waiting for me and a lot was going on. A moment before running my card, I was told the total. It was $448. I was in shock and blinked. It turns out my "starts at $165" corset was $349. A $20 or $40 range would have been acceptable. The difference was more than double. And they were depending on my being too in love with the outfit and distracted to walk out. I'm sorry to say that my timeline and friends waiting distracted me enough that I went through with the transaction. I won't be walking through their doors again, and I will encourage friends to do the same. read more

I have gotten two of the most comfortable off-the-rack steel-boned underbust corsets here, that break-in rather quickly for all-day convention wear. Anything better fitting for me would have to be custom-made. Both times, I got a lot of help finding the correct size, arranging a color scheme, properly lacing up, and answering the million questions I had about caring for them. If I keep the handwritten receipt, they will replace the corset for any manufacturer defects that do not come from normal wear and tear. She also gave me good advice on how not to add more-than-normal wear and tear while costuming. Knowing well enough what it costs for a custom corset, and having already pulled my hair out in abject frustration when taking a class on how to sew my own historical corset, plus having returned a plethora of poorly-constructed internet purchases, the price at Heart's Delight is perfectly reasonable to me for the quality and comfort. read more

Hearts Delight store was anything but a delight! I wanted to purchase a used Disney Santa figure that had no price. The young salesclerk said she'd have to look up its price. She came back and said it was $16 and as I was about to hand her the cash the manager interrupted and said that wasn't the right price as the salesgirl did not look in the right place. The manager went into the back and returned stating the Santa was $225 but was on sale for $125. I said that was not what I was quoted and the rude manager stated that they contacted the owner and looked up its price. The Santa was used and not in good shape. I told the manager that was a horrible way to treat a customer and the poor salesgirl. I walked out never to return and found the Disney piece with all 4 pieces new in box for $69. For the ladies, a cute little store along Main Street, off California. Lovely Victorian & Renaissance dresses, candles, gifts, and perfumes and lotions. Then, some odd-fitting items: toys and memorabilia from Harry Potter and/or medieval period. But then it went sour. I found some taffy, some gourmet little cigars with all sorts of flavors for $2.75, 4 for $10. I napped some up. Chatty Cathy (actually Wacky Wendy). A nice store lady assisted me, but she was so odd. She was an Overtalker. While writing a manual receipt for my purchase, she had backstory after backstory, then apologized for this and for that. Did I say odd? But, in the end, I had my taffy. Well, it was horrible. Stale, and no matter the flavor, tasted of soap. Not Heart's Delight, as the store name is, but Heart's Failure is more like it. read more

I went into this store for the first time yesterday and it was so cute I had to come back today. A very nice girl helped find a bodice that fit me and gave me price estimates on the specific color I was looking for. She was very helpful and knowledgable. The prices are expensive but worth it when it comes to the quality and beauty of the pieces. Everything at this store is honestly one of a kind. The women that run this shop are a bunch of festival carnies. They are rude and do not care about customer service since the store is simply a storage for their festival tours. Most of the garments in the shop are not priced, and the clerk must call the warehouse for a price. No one answers the call so the clerks cant make the sale. They would rather sell the garments at Ren Faire, get top price and know that the garments cannot be returned. I will not shop here again, they are just too shady. read more

TERRIBLE experience. I called this store two days ago to ask a specific question. I wanted to know if they were going to be open today and until what time. The lady on the phone said they'd be open on the day I inquired about until 5. My husband and I RUSHED over here afterwork on the day in question. Mind you, gasoline is $5.69 a gallon and we are coming from 38 miles away, we arrive to the store being CLOSED! With Ren Faire days away, I was going to buy a costume and was prepared to spend $500. We were pretty disappointed and that led to being pretty pissed off. Unfortunately we have decided to not ever shop here again. We will take our money elsewhere and encourage others to do so, too. read more

Drove out of my way to come to your store drove all over Ventura to find parking because Main Street is closed down. Came in here to spend money ,was greeted at the door, but never offered any help. Terrible had to wait 2 hours for them to open because the google store hours are incorrect. When I bought my corset they were very unsure about the price and I was charged $349 when on their website it was $249. I am very unhappy with this store.  I bought two blouses for my wife yesterday, but they were the wrong size.  I didn't think it would be a big deal if I got the size wrong because they had the same blouses in all the other sizes.  Today I brought them back for an exchange.  Unfortunately, I was told "all sales are final and we will not exchange anything."  I told the manager that I was not looking for a refund, only an exchange for the correct size.  She said, "no, that is our policy."  OK, does she think I will ever shop there again?  Not me and not anybody that I know! read more

I was at the Ren Faire today in So Cal. My first visit was in the early 90s. At that time, I purchased a costume at the faire and was shocked at the price (I was young 20s). But I loved my outfit from head to toe (corset vest, blouse, and two skirts) and vowed I would get my moneys worth moving forward. It's now 26 years later and at the Ren faire with me, my teenage daughter is wearing the corset vest with her outfit, and I'm wearing the rest. As I visited the faire today I was shocked to meet the woman who sold me the outfit in the 90's. I had no idea how timeless these outfits would be when I purchased them so long ago. It was so great to chat with her; she remembered the fabric of the original vest, I was floored...and honored. The craftsmanship stands the test of time. We will be visiting them soon for a steampunk corset for both my girls. read more

The clothes for women are ok but overpriced. Plus there's store credit, not cash refund which is typical in stores like this. I shopped for my wife's birthday present and got the wrong size. This isn't the problem that I have with this place. The old woman was very rude and made comments about my wife being picky when I came back to return the clothes for store credit. My wife was not there with me, but on the phone. The old woman made several rude comments. Comments like: your wife is so picky, etc. If I were the owner I would flat out fire her. To think you would support small businesses, this is why people go to target or Walmart. At least there is better customer service. Also she complained about how she couldn't wait to get off from work. They don't work very hard so why complain in front of customers? I'll never go there again and I do not recommend anyone else to go there as long as that old toothless former crack hag works there. read more

I have costume pieces that I have owned for more than 35 years and they're still going strong. Big Online shopper, never saw their store. Heard about them from the Renaissance Fair. I am very disappointed in every aspect of the experience. I was kind of excited at first when customer service called prior to the shipment to verify sizing. They talked my daughter into a smaller size then we ordered. When recieved the dress was too small (they must have been short on fabric, hence the call) No credit offered. I am stuck with these overpriced, poorly made night gowns(even though they were supposed to be dresses).After receiving these garments and speaking with customer service I imagined they must be in some kind of hideous sweat shop with a whipping overlord. Company refuses to post their "No Returns/No Refunds" policy - instead they print it on the receipt- which you get AFTER you've made a purchase. My 11 year old son purchased a pair of elf ears from them at KC RenFest, walked around the corner and saw a pair at a different vendor that he liked better. Went back to Hearts Desire (less than five minutes time), and they said they absolutely would not refund his money. What a joke of a company! read more

I hate to say it, because I love costumes and supporting small businesses, but I just had a really bad customer service experience with these people. I bought a bodice corset at a renaissance festival, and about an hour later had a change of heart and wanted to think more about it. The only sign in the shop says "exchanges for unworn clothing" but they did not communicate that you can't get refunded for returns at all. After an HOUR. when faced with exchanging, I found something I liked better and it was half the price of the original, but they wouldn't even let me get a partial refund and tried to force me to choose something else when I didn't want anything. I'm almost tears, I tried to find $75 worth of stuff that I didn't hate and gave up, just taking my original corset and leaving. I am beyond disappointed in the policy and communication, not to mention handling of problems. I am out a lot of money for something I'm not happy with and that should be your main priority as a business. I would really reconsider this rule read more

Overpriced, and a complete false advertising. Bought my corset at the NorCal Renaissance Faire, because I've been meaning to nab a corset for costume purposes. Mind you, I'm no expert on corsets, but I have worn my fair share and I KNOW a steel boned corset. After trying one on, I immediately started having doubts because while the corset did cinch, it didn't give the particular hourglass shape that full steel boned corsets do. Wanting to quell my doubts, I asked the girl who fitted me if the corsets were steel boned. She called over a more "experienced" woman who insisted that they were completely steel boned, so I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. I was already suspicious at this time, because while the front seemed to have steel boning, the sides bent quite flimsily as if boned with plastic. I'm beating myself up over it even now, because I should have realised that there were no openings in which to remove the boning for washing purposes. Still, I gave them the benefit of the doubt because 1) I was tipsy, and 2) I wanted to put my faith in a CA business. Needless to say, I should have trusted my gut. I was quoted $130 including tax, but ended up getting charged $150~. I passed it off as a mistake, and assumed the attendant had misquoted me. Again, giving the business the benefit of the doubt. I wore it out of the tent, but by the time I got home sobered up and realised I'd been scammed. The breaking point for me was when I went to take off my shoes (whilst wearing the corset) and realising that the fabric had buckled. The fabric is NOT. SUPPOSED. TO. BUCKLE. If this were an authentic steel boned corset, I shouldn't have been able to bend over in that way. All in all, I feel cheated. I'll be contacting their customer support soon in an attempt to receive a refund, and I'll update this review depending on how my complaint is received. read more

Was on vacation and wandered in here. Saw something I really liked but there was only the display item. It was very overpriced for what it was, but I splurge a little on vacation so asked to try it on. Came out of the dressing room and was trying to turn the oval ring skirt so it was symmetrical. I was moving it to get it to sit straight and couldn't get it to..maybe because it was the display so I asked if that is just the way it sits. The manager(owner?) rudely said, why dont you turn it so it looks right and not just look at where the tag is! and then she walked away. She had been cold before I tried it on too but I dismissed it. I had been considering spending like $200 on the 3 items I tried but I removed the clothes and left the store. Kind of a downer for a nice day out shopping on vacation. They are my go to for all things Renaissance Faire. I will drive up here from the OC to go to this shop and i will always stop to take a peek into their booth at the faire. Last time I was up there I didn't know exactly what I wanted just new I wanted some new pieces as I had grown tired of what I had. The staff was very friendly and even apologetic because much of their faire stock was all ready packed up. I knew this was a possibility and assured them that it was fine. I was checking out with my 2 skirts and my dress when another skirt caught my eye. It was beautiful. It looked like a cross between marble and wood grain. I decided to think about it a bit but eventually came back to get it. Well this skirt was the middle layer on the dress form and that can be a nightmare to undress and redress. the girls were more then happy to take her apart so I could have this beautiful skirt. I bought a Huntsman Corset ($179) at the Faire in Washington this weekend, along with a dress and rope. Total came to $389. Very over priced, but I thought, it's the Faire. Got home and realized the lady never put my corset even in my bag. They were very pleasant to deal with, fitted me well. Maybe they hired locals to help out. I have emailed them, and if I don't get a favorable response I will contact the BBB, which is what others should be doing as well if they are unhappy with any sort of customer service that involves "exchanges" instead of refunds, or straight out undelivered merchandise, as in my case. As far as rudeness goes, all we got is Yelp, FB and word of mouth. read more

My husband purchased a blouse, corset and skirt for me from Hearts Delight at the Bristol Ren Faire, spending over $500. The woman that assisted me was pleasant and when I showed her a couple issues with the blouse, she directed me to the shop manager after making sure there weren't any more blouses in the color I preferred. The shop manager assured us that contacting their office would resolve the issue as they do not have sewing equipment on site to fix a couple holes and poorly sewn ribbon. I contacted the office several times in the weeks following the purchase, via phone, via their contact page through their website, email as well as messages via Facebook and all attempts went unanswered for months. Finally, I received a call from a woman and was barely able to explain the issue before the call was dropped due to a poor cell connection. I left a few messages in an attempt to resolve the issue and never heard back. I would highly recommend potential customers to stay away from this company. Their prices are significantly higher than competitors with subpar quality in addition to the non-existent customer service. read more

This company is the sole reason my Renaissance faire experience was ruined. I was fitted for a corset, and was not told the price until right before I swiped my card. I expected the corset to be around $70-130, as I am fairly familiar with prices. However, this company told my that this corset was $389, and ended up being $421 with tax. In the moment, I was sent into an anxiety attack, and without thinking, pressed my PIN number. I walked out of the booth for about a minute, and came back in tears. I explained my situation, as the corset was about the amount I make in a paycheck, and as a minor (I'm 17), my parents were enraged with my purchase. However, it was only then that they told me they did not offer cash returns, only exchanges. I was fully in tears and hyperventilating, and all of the staff was horribly rude to me. I even had my father talk to the manager, who again refused. Rude and awful people, with overpriced items. They treated the tent like a designer store, and though I was LUCKY to be there. Just purchased my wife a pair of pants at Hearts Delight for about $68. I asked the girls helping me if they had a box or something to put the pants in. I could clearly see boxes and gift bags behind the counter, she looked back at them and said oh I'm not sure it's only my 2nd day, she call someone's name. After she was done charging me for the pants another woman came from back of the store, this girls asked if they had any gift boxes, the woman had a very annoyed look on her face as she moved the pants around to look at the price tag, as if to see if what I spend would warrant a box or gift bag, again I paid $68, then she said no. I said what about those boxes there, pointing behind the counter, she said oh it won't fit in there, right next to the boxes were gift bags , I said what about the gift bag, again very annoyed walked over and grabbed a gift bag and put the pants in. I took my stuff and said thanks.....nothing back from them. I thought I'm going to jump on Yelp when I get home, only to see that is what all the comments are for them.
