I am a huge thrifter, always on the hunt for eclectic trinkets, treasures, and clothing. I will drive hours to peruse places in other cities, but the Humane Society Thrift is by far my favorite place to shop. I am always greeted warmly by the volunteers, and strike up genuine conversations each trip. The shelves are abundant but still well-organized, offering everything from home decor to utilities to crafting supplies. Prices are fair and affordable, which is so refreshing amidst the overcharging of big corporations. I appreciate this especially as a college student on a budget. And every purchase I make goes toward the most precious animals! I visit them frequently, too. :) I'm so excited for the opportunities that their relocation and expansion will bring; I can't wait to swing by the animal corner at the front once it's been developed! read more

We have a few choices for thrift stores in Corvallis. That's awesome. Do you want to know what else is awesome? Heartland Humane Society's thrift shop! Yeah! There's an eclectic mix of stuff. Prices can be just OK or totally super value. I always have to make sure I have a wad of cash if I go in because it's a rare day that I leave empty handed. Fun dishes, kitchen implements, groovy clothes, hats, random bits of hardware, and who even knows WHAT you'll find. Sometimes I just have to leave things I want because I already have enough stuff. But wow. Just wow. Then there's the staff. Is it OK to call them staff? They are volunteers. They do their work because they love the Humane Society. You know what? That's awesome too! Their revenue goes to the local Humane Society and provides over a quarter of the Humane Society's annual budget. That's huge. The staff is also friendly and helpful. I better get on down there; it's been a couple days! read more

Very friendly staff and really enjoyed exploring this shop. When visiting the area, I stopped by daily to find something new each day. Bought a warm scarf and a tote bag for my visit. Highly recommend a visit! read more

Awesome thrift store! Awesome! For the animals that they rescue and save. They are not open on Sunday despite what some websites say.

This is the very best resale shop in the Corvallis area. The volunteers are all exceptional, many have been volunteering for decades. It is very well organized with a color tag system that keeps the older items moving and going out the door when it's been sitting around too long. You can find some incredible deals and also find 'just what you were looking for' other times. I've gotten SO many great things there!!! As a (very) long-time customer, I just hope I get to be a volunteer someday...that's my dream! read more

There's a great variety here. I have found many treasures over the years. Unfortunately Dona who works there is extremely rude. I have been shopping there for so long and every volunteer has let me take as many items into the dressing room as I have wanted after counting them. She forced me to only take in three at a time and hovered over me accusingly as though I was going to steal something. I told her that in all of my years coming there I had never been asked to do this. She then quipped, "The other volunteers you came across must have not read the sign. It's nothing perrrrsonnnalll." I am highly insulted. I should be treated with more respect after purchasing so many things at this store and supporting the animals. I certainly hope the management takes it into consideration to allow only kind volunteers. Dona certainly is NOT kind. read more

As with most small thrift stores, your luck is dependent on what's being donated and put out for the day. I have had great success here in the past, as well as many a time when I've walked out empty-handed. True pros know what that's like! What you should appreciated, regardless, is the fair pricing and the ability to see the direct benefit of your donations and patronage. I enjoy browsing and shopping here when I am visiting in Corvallis. I have found some nice costume jewelry, beautiful wind chimes and just neat little knick knacks. The prices are really reasonable for a thrift store, I have found some nice deals here on all my purchases and always walk out happy! They also have sales on the color items of the week, and bags near the front register for your purchases. The staff behind the counter are always pleasant and friendly to talk with and your $$ go for a great cause! read more

Found some great vintage canning jars and a mid-century art glass bowl that were reasonably priced. There was also a good selection of new pet items (waste bags, collars). I got a new Gulpy brand dog water bottle for $3 ($10 on Amazon) and the money went to a great cause. Score! read more

This was the first time I'd been in the thrift shop, but was absolutely at home in an instant. The women working at the front were warm and friendly, and showed a lot of pride in their work and appreciation for their customers. I had a very pleasant conversation with them as my items were rung up, and all in all, I couldn't be happier with my experience. Not only is this a cool thrift shop with fantastic staff, it goes to benefit a truly noble cause. Keep up the good work. You're going to see a lot more of me from now on. read more
