The Sweet Home Elks lodge is one of my favorite lodges to visit. We've come down here and stayed…read morein their RV spots two years in a row during the Oregon Jamboree. The RV spaces are decent with both power and water hookups that will work with most RVs from smaller trailers to large class As. Unfortunately there are no sewer hookups, but there's a few dump stations on the way home for us so no big deal - and for $10 a night I can't complain! That's WAY cheaper than it is to dry camp on the jamboree grounds. Only down side is a lengthy (almost 2 mile) walk or having to drive and park to get to the stage area. Inside the lodge the bartender and other local Elks members are always very friendly and talkative. The bar is fantastic with great bar food and an awesome selection of beer with great prices to go with it! The night we arrived this year we planned to barbeque at our trailer. When we stopped in the bar to grab a beer, I couldn't help but notice the $3 burger and chicken sandwich. It was worth a few bucks to give it a try. The burger turned out to be one of the best I've had in a long time! The chicken was great too! In total, our bar bill after a few drinks and dinner was less than $25 with a decent tip! If you're an Elk - come visit this lodge when you're in town. You won't regret it! Not an Elk? Consider becoming one! We've been members more than 10 years and have thoroughly enjoyed the options being an Elk members opens up to us.

Typical non renovated decor, but very nice and clean and man is the beer cheap.read more

I am always greeted warmly by the volunteers, and strike up genuine conversations each trip. The shelves are abundant but still well-organized, offering everything from home decor to utilities to crafting supplies. Prices are fair and affordable, which is so refreshing amidst the overcharging of big corporations. I appreciate this especially as a college student on a budget. And every purchase I make goes toward the most precious animals! I visit them frequently, too. :) I'm so excited for the opportunities that their relocation and expansion will bring; I can't wait to swing by the animal corner at the front once it's been developed!

There's an eclectic mix of stuff. Prices can be just OK or totally super value. I always have to make sure I have a wad of cash if I go in because it's a rare day that I leave empty handed. Fun dishes, kitchen implements, groovy clothes, hats, random bits of hardware, and who even knows WHAT you'll find. Sometimes I just have to leave things I want because I already have enough stuff. But wow. Just wow. Then there's the staff. Is it OK to call them staff? They are volunteers. They do their work because they love the Humane Society. You know what? That's awesome too! Their revenue goes to the local Humane Society and provides over a quarter of the Humane Society's annual budget. That's huge. The staff is also friendly and helpful. I better get on down there; it's been a couple days!
