We absolutely love the Hearthstone Lounge! It's inside the Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. I definitely recommend making a reservation because it can get busy. We were visiting for a special Disneyland event and came here for dinner the night before. Even though we arrived about 15 minutes early for our reservation, they were able to seat us right away, which was a great start to the evening. The service was top-notch! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe here is exactly what you'd hope for from the name: cozy fireplace lounge energy with comfortable seating, warm lighting, and a relaxing atmosphere that feels upscale without being stuffy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The drink menu is seriously impressive, especially if you enjoy whiskey since they have an entire whisky library. I ordered the martini flight, which included three mini martinis: The Word, The Corpse Reviver, and The Army. All three were delicious and the portion size was perfect -- enough to enjoy each one without overdoing it. My wife ordered the Curious Cabin, a tequila-based cocktail, and she loved it. The food was excellent too, and we really appreciated the allergy-friendly options, including a strong gluten-free menu. I had the short rib lasagna, which was absolutely delicious. My wife had the hamburger on a gluten-free bun and kept talking about how amazing the bun was because it actually held together -- unlike so many gluten-free buns out there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is such a fun place to grab drinks, enjoy a meal, and soak in the ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Whether you're staying at the hotel or just spending time at Disneyland, Hearthstone Lounge is absolutely worth a visit!
[[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful upscale restaurant with reasonable prices by destination and upscale restaurant standards.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My royal petal tasted as good as it looks. I never used to like gin, but I enjoy anything made with Empress Gin (see also: the Make It Blue Make It Pink at Broken Spell Lounge that is also Empress gin-based). Had a great burger cooked medium rare to order. I was surprised the avocado was given to me as a spread rather than sliced but it does make it easier to eat without avocado slices sliding out of the bun. One son had chicken fingers. I forget what the other ordered, but both cleared their plates. Excellent service.
The Baseline: For a sit down Dining experience establishment the food flavors must represent the theme of the environment, there must be unique offerings to the restaurant based on the theme, and the experience must be immersive to the theme park experience. Food: The food was good and was above the theme park standards. They have a full whiskey and bourbon library so you can get some high end drinks. I had the roasted chicken (4 out of 5) which was juicy and flavorful. The Truffle Mac and cheese was good (4 out of 5), The Gem Caesar with chicken was just what it called itself (4 out of 5). The drinks were great and the olives/almonds were really my favorite (5 out of 5). Since this is more of a bar experience than a restaurant experience it rates higher for the lounge aspects. Service: The service is top notch and we had a great waitress and waiter. Ambiance: [[HIGHLIGHT]]One of the better places to have a Disney meal in the Grand Californian.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is an old school look with Disney flair and makes for an enjoyable Disney evening out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]
[[HIGHLIGHT]]Fancy, upscale lounge with rustic ambience that located inside the Grand California within Disneyland Park.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Came after our visit at DCA and Downtown Disney, because the bartender and a few guests at Centrico was recommending us to check out Hearthstone, so we just have to! We grabbed a seat at the bar counter right in front of the alcohol shelf, it looks quite empty because they were in the middle of cleaning and organizing it, but I was able to see the expensive 40 Macallan Wishky bottle in front of my eyes. The staffs were friendly and professional, service was quick, our drink was ready within 10 minutes, Jessica - our bartender was check-in on us from time to time making sure everything is okay. I noticed that, all the staffs here, seems to be loved by the regulars, and I think I can understand why, the vibe they give off was likes: you are their friends, who visited their workplace and banter with them when the shift is about to be over. For drinks: I tried The Empress (with Vodka), it was pretty good at first but by the end of the drink it get more and more sour to my taste. My friend asked Jessica to make him a drink with strawberry flavor, and he said that was one of the best cocktail that he ever had, I would have to agree to that, because by the second round we both asked Jessica to give us the same strawberry cocktails lol. We only stay there for a short hour on Sunday night but it was memorable and I can't wait to comeback here next time, after I go visit Mickey Mouse first.

We had a large group with 4 separate reservations but the staff was able to seat us all near each other. Our server was super nice and helpful anticipating what the little kids needed too. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Located in the Grand Californian the place has a cabin-y mountain resort vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were able to walk right in through California Adventure. Our table ordered the Curious Cabin, the Golden Rush Hour, and the Honey Gintini cocktails. All 3 cocktails were really pretty and tasted good. I'd recommend any of them for a lighter fruity drink. We also were given complimentary olives and nuts for starters. For food we got the truffle mac and cheese, the cobb salad, and the prime rib. The mac and cheese was a hit with the kid and had a definite but not overpowering truffle flavor. The cobb salad was a loaded with all the fixings and had plenty of dressing. Lastly the prime rib was juicy and tender. I loved that it came with au jus and it also had a small piece of bone marrow that we were able to spread on one bite that just elevated the meat. Overall a super cool experience and I'm glad I got to try it! Worth making some time for a sit down dining experience during your Disney trip!

Japanese Sour Japanese whiskey with honey, egg white and serrano chile. Work of art complex flavors so tasty. Seasonal Cake This was a massive slice of chocolate cake, it was so moist and full of flavor. Hot fudge came in container to pour over. Only $16. Still have some in fridge. Customer next to us had grilled cheese sandwich with fresh fruit plan on going back for that tomorrow.
Second time coming here. First time was during the Lunar New Celebration and they had some specialty items. Disappointed they didn't have the Lunar specialty items again this year. Service was good. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. Appetizer portion are huge! Ordered the chorizo poutine, and didn't expect the size of it. Really grateful for how much they gave you. Poutine was good could have put a little more chorizo on it. Ordered the Pacific Salmon. Delicious. Fiance ordered the prime rib. He was very happy with it, said it might be one of the better prime ribs out of the restaurants who served it in California Adventure. Dessert was the creme brulee. But disappointed with the cookie butter on the biscotti only when the name includes cookie butter. But the brulee was still good
My second/third favorite restaurant on the Disneyland resort. This place has such a relaxing laid back vibe with some great food options. The couches are also super nice after walking around in the park. We always started here before hitting the parks and got the Poutine Chorizo Fries (10/10) which would fill two of us up and a few cocktails. Ask for some almonds for the table also! Drinks and food always hit before walking it all off.
I haven't tried many restaurants at Disney, but this place was the bomb. From the moment we were greeted, the service from the staff made the experience even better. I can't remember the male server's name, but he was incredibly kind and helped me choose my drink--the Ultimate Margarita. It was amazing and by far the best drink I had around the park. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere felt extravagant yet cozy, and just sitting there and taking everything in made it even more enjoyable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The lasagna was perfectly balanced in flavor and came in a huge portion. Unfortunately, I didn't have room for dessert . I highly recommend trying this place, even if you're on the fence about it. You'll definitely want to come back--and you'll find yourself thinking about it every time you visit Disney.
The Hearthstone Lounge was the perfect break from the parks. Reservations were super easy to make through the Disneyland app, which was a huge win for our group of 16 people. We made four separate reservations of four, and the staff graciously seated us all near each other in a square. It was so thoughtful and very much appreciated. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable, which would make it an ideal place to unwind on a hot summer day even though we went during Christmas time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had lots of toddlers with us, and the staff was incredibly accommodating and patient, which made the experience stress-free for everyone. The cocktails were delicious, and the food was genuinely impressive. The olives deserve a special shoutout. They were tangy, amazing, and totally addictive, I still dream about them! The Cobb salad was excellent, especially with the bleu cheese, the truffle mac and cheese was solid and comforting, but the true standout was the prime rib. It came perfectly cooked with rich au jus and a bone marrow that took it over the top. Overall, this was a fantastic meal and a great escape from the hustle of the park. Highly recommend if you're looking for good food, great service, and a relaxing pause during your Disneyland trip.

The prime rib was over cooked , the truffle mac n cheese was good , the drinks were strong & the best thing was the broccolini, which was delicious. Will definitely go back in the future.

I'd give a 3.5 but rounding up to a 4. It's a nice getaway from the business of the park inside the Grand Californian hotel. Service was good, everyone was very friendly. Food came out slowly though, felt like 30 min for food and 20 min for dessert. The food was pretty good, we got the charcuterie pizza (personal size ~ there's a larger shareable version of this at craftsman bar), roasted chicken and cookie butter crème brûlée for dessert (didn't like the cookie butter cookie on top but the actual crème brûlée was delicious). read more

The sea bass was incredible -- one of those dishes where every bite somehow tastes better than the last. The flavors kept opening up the more I ate, and it was honestly hard to stop. Came here for a little nightcap twice. Both times they were very busy despite being pretty late in the evening honestly, the service was not too great but overall we did like it here. The service was just generally slow and both nights we were sat past our reservation time, but one of the nights our server was very friendly. Heartstone Lounge was the perfect stop for cocktails. Making a reservation on the app was super easy, which we loved. We took the monorail from Disneyland over to Downtown Disney, walked into the hotel, and it honestly felt like a mini escape. We came mainly for drinks and they did not disappoint. Plus they bring out these warm toasty almonds and green olives that were slightly sweet and briny and way too snackable. We stayed at the Grand Californian for almost a week, and unfortunately, this restaurant was by far the worst spot we tried. My husband first came here with a friend for drinks, and the bartender, "Jeremy/James??," was extremely unpleasant--chatting with everyone else while ignoring them and giving unnecessary attitude. Since the restaurant is right in the hotel lobby, we decided to give it another chance for dinner, but it was another disappointment. After being seated, we waited nearly 30 minutes for a French onion soup that I wouldn't recommend at all--thin, salty-sweet, and watery (despite good Yelp reviews). Once the starters arrived, it took another 20 minutes just to get spoons and bowls for sharing. The entrées were even worse. My husband ordered the seasonal sea bass, which was completely overcooked and bone dry. I had the prime rib steak, and it was honestly the worst steak I've ever had--tough, flavorless, and nothing close to what you'd expect at a Disney resort. Service throughout the night was lacking; once you're seated, it feels like you've been forgotten. Thankfully, every other Disney restaurant we tried during our stay was excellent with both food and service, but this one was a huge letdown and does not live up to the standards of the Grand Californian. read more
One of the few spots on Disneyland property that make you feel you are outside the parks. It's located in the corner of The Grand Californian Hotel, and gives a sophisticated, elegant dining experience. Servers are attentive to guests. Food can be hit or miss so I will individually rate what we ordered. Orchard Swig - 5/5, very appropriate for the autumnal season. Chorizo Poutine - 5/5, great starter and great portion size (honestly was full after sharing for a party of 3.) Roasted Chicken- 3.5/5, chicken was on the dry side, and the season vegetables didn't feel like they paired well. Sea-bass - 0/5, had to send back as the fish tasted like dirt, mashed potatoes were good. Truffle Mac & Cheese w/Chicken - 4/5, everything was good, but chicken was a little dry. Short Rib Lasagna - 4/5, tasty and a cool take on lasagna (replaced sea-bass for this meal.) Season Cake (Chocolate Cake) - 5/5, just the right amount of sweet & chocolaty, MASSIVE portion size can feed 5 people. Would definitely recommend coming here if you are a local or if you are here for vacation! read more
Came by to the togo bar area around 6pm, waited in line for a few minutes and luckily 2 open spot at the bar open up. We ordered beers and pizza. The north coast pranqster golden ale was ice cold and refreshing for a hot Friday evening. The bartender recommended the charcuterie pizza and we were glad we got it. The charcuterie pizza was so good!! The italian sausage and pepperoni were delicious, the fire roasted tomatoes had great flavor and the arugula with dressing on the pizza was the key. The pizza itself had a nice char and wasn't dry or too hard. We killed the pizza so fast, definitely a must order and will come back for the charcuterie pizza. We got creme brulee for dessert, it was a lot bigger than most creme brulee which was surprising. The creme brulee hit the spot, especially with the cookie butter biscotti. Thank you for the wonderful bartenders who constantly check on us and refilling our water without asking as well. read more

Had dinner at Hearthstone Lounge while staying at the Disney Grand and it felt like we were visiting our rich uncle's mountain estate for the weekend: classy, cozy. We started with the French onion soup, which was rich, cheesy, and full of flavor. For mains, we got the short rib lasagna and the 12 oz slow-roasted Black Angus prime. The lasagna was packed with tender short rib, super cheesy, and felt like an elevated and savory take on comfort food. I've never had short rib in lasagna before and now I want it that way forever. The prime rib was juicy, and cooked medium rare. Service was great. Our server was personable, friendly and on point, as expected from Disney. Our food came out quickly too, which was a plus after a long park day. Definitely a 5 out of 5 experience. Would come back even if I wasn't staying at the hotel. read more

We had dinner reservations, but it still took over 30 minutes to be seated. The restaurant was extremely busy and we heard they weren't able to accept walk-ins until 9:00 pm, even though it was only 6:30 at the time. Once we were seated, the service was great. My boyfriend's second drink was almost forgotten, but aside from that, everything was great, especially considering how busy the restaurant was. For drinks, we ordered the Hearthstone Old Fashioned and the 70th Celebration Cocktail. We started with the French onion soup and chorizo poutine. For our entrees, I had the New York steak, and my boyfriend ordered the 16 oz slow-roasted Black Angus prime rib. This bar is beautiful. You can step up to the bar that's first come first serve or make a reservation for table or couch seats. Comfy cozy fireplace seating is so welcoming. Bartenders are friendly and make great drinks. read more
The bad: A little pricy, but honestly not bad compared to any other dining experience. I will say the wait time for our food was a bit less than desirable because by the time it arrived it was still warm but not hot. The good: Bartender Jeremy! He knows his stuff, he's quick and very hospitable. Drinks were ordered: Curious Cabin - tequila and pear with lime Royal Petal - Gin and sour/sweet (NO Picture, but edible flower included) 70th Celebration - Ginger, sour, mint All the food tasted really good! We had the chicken tenders which had honey drizzled on and came with some yummy friess as well as the short rib lasagna - REALLY GOOD! I would recommend the onion soup though for two reasons: 1. Cheapest thing on the menu (I believe) 2. Everyone around us ordered it and it came out pretty quickly. A nicely decorated lounge inside the Disney Grand Californian, Hearthstone offers craft cocktails, a nice wine selection, good food, and a lovely fireplace (I'm not talking about the giant stone fireplace in the lobby). We have been here several times within the last year. The bar seats are coveted but we do are best to find a pair. On this particular visit, I had the Flaky Buttermilk-Battered Chicken Sandwich. If there is a fried egg on a sandwich, I will tried it, This chicken sandwich came with a Soft-fried Egg, Cucumber & Radicchio Slaw, Habanero Aioli & Hot Honey Drizzle, Buttered Brioche Bun, served with French Fries. It was excellent. On this particular visit, our bartender make a custom cocktail, based on what our tastes were for that night. It was perfect. There are many cocktails on the menu worth trying, but it's a feeling-out process with the bartenders - some are not as strong as others, and that will be a factor in what we may order. But worse comes to worse, anyone can make a good martini, right? Hearthstone is worth a visit. read more

I absolutely love this cozy little lounge in the Grand Californian Hotel. Nanette and Natalia are just the definition of class. It's a little harder to get into than the past but we were able to get reservations for 8pm. The charcuterie is huge and really filled us up! Ritchy was a very hard worker, even gave me some Disney stickers. All the cast members really make you feel like home. It just has a certain magic about it. Will definitely be back! read more
A very cozy lobby lounge at the Grand Californian resort. We stopped by for a few drinks at the bar after hanging out at downtown Disney. The entire lounge was packed with mostly tourists. We were able to grab two seats at the bar. Hubby and I both had Vesper martinis, they were very well made and strong. No surprise the bartender at a luxury hotel lounge knows how to make this classic British drink! We had a very relaxing lounge time and everybody was so friendly. A great place to hang out whenever we are in downtown Disney! Ps. Since nobody knew how to validate our parking ticket so we got free parking for the evening! LOL read more

Love the dining options at the Disney Grand Californian Hotel. I'm adding this one to my go-to list. I changed my reservations last minute because it was colder outside and this restaurant still had times available. I'm so glad I changed it because this place has been on my list to try for a while. It feels so cozy. There's a fireplace. We loved the nice Christmas decor. It was just the perfect comfy end to our busy Disney day. We did have to wait a little to get in even with the reservation because it was busy but it was well worth the wait. We ordered the short rib lasagna ($36) and truffle Mac & cheese ($24). Both were out of this world! The short rib lasagna flavors are really good and it came with a decent amount of meet. The truffle Mac & cheese was a perfect compliment with nice truffle flavor. We came moderately hungry and this was plenty of food. They have a lot of options at different price points. Also decent drink selection too! Overall, this place surprised me in a good way. Tucked inside the stunning Grand Californian Hotel, Hearthstone Lounge is all about the ambiance. The location is gorgeous, warm, and romantic--perfect for a date night or just soaking in the Craftsman-style aesthetic. Honestly, you're paying more for the setting than the food. The menu itself wasn't particularly memorable, and the prices felt steep given that you can find much better flavors and variety throughout the parks and Downtown Disney. My vanilla rum espresso martini was beautifully presented but had an odd salty note that didn't quite work for me. That said, they do excel in premium, well-crafted cocktails--if you're into mixology-style drinks, this is a highlight. Service was solid; the bartenders were friendly and attentive, which made the experience more enjoyable. Overall, Hearthstone Lounge is worth visiting for the atmosphere and a round of quality drinks, but I'd recommend grabbing your actual meal elsewhere and coming here for the vibe. read more
My daughter & I celebrated our birthdays today & she wanted to take me somewhere special. Carla greeted us at the front & was very personable & welcoming. Our server, Jonathan, was exceptional, and made sure that my daughter's food allergies were met. She had a gluten free, vegan pizza & said it was wonderful. I had the grilled cheese (my go-to comfort food) and fries. Delish! Could only finish half. The drinks were wonderful too - a margarita & a honey gintini. We had a great time here. We were visiting the parks and decided to try a new place (new for us). A pretty large dining area with a lodge-feel atmosphere. SERVICE: We were seated very close to our reserved time (definitely make reservations). And our server was very nice and attentive. Nice job! FOOD: Everything we tried was super tasty. We had the burger, truffle mac n' cheese, short rib lasagna, and the cookie butter creme brûlée. (Yum yum!) The wine selection was pretty good, and their whiskey selection was even better!! (but bring your bank account - lol) Great place - make sure to give them a try! read more
