Ambiance: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Food: n/a Drinks: 5/5 Price: 4/5 Parking: n/a Not rating Food as we didn't try anything this visit nor Parking as this is a Disneyland Resort restaurant (which assumes parking or local walking with a ticket). Alli was our server, and she was the absolute best! Her recommendations were wonderful, and she went above and beyond for my group of 5. Overall, loved my time at the Carthay Circle Lounge and cannot wait to return!

Dining at Carthay Circle (Lounge and Restaurant) requires an advanced reservation via Disney Dining (web or app). We arrived about 20 minutes earlier than our reservation time and got seated in 10 minutes. Some people may not like this but we were seated at the bar on high barstools. One of the bar tenders was our waiter and he was great at helping us. We had the Soy glazed salmon over soba and the Turkey and Mushroom Bolognese main dishes. Both dishes were really, really good. The salmon was cooked on-the-money and was seasoned very well. My nit picking is that it could have used more soba! They used very skinny soba and there wasn't a whole lot... I'd say that if you were really hungry, you might be still a little hungry but I'd take quality over quantity any day. The Turkey and Mushroom Bolognese was equally delicious. The flavor was rich and the pasta was a bit less than al dente (softer) but no issues with that. After a long day at California Adventure, this was a great way to wind the evening down.

Yay finally checking this place of my Disney restaurant list. I found it interesting that the lounge has a different menu than the restaurant part. Personally I think the lounge has the better menu. I was so excited to try some of the food items, but was disappointed that a lot of the items contained dairy. This is my gripe and grievance with Disneyland. They add dairy to food that normally would not have dairy. Example, the duck sopes have dairy in the MASA/corn part of the sope. Why would they do that?! Pissed me off bc that was one of the top 3 items I was eyeing. They also added dairy to Vietnamese wraps, bao buns, the lemon grass coconut dumplings..... Traditionally these cuisines/food items don't contain dairy. I was able to eat the Jamaican chicken curry which was ok. Curry was soft not too strong so that may be a good thing or bad thing depending on your curry preference. My friend did order the duck sopes and said they were ok. The drinks on the other hand were GOOD. we ordered the sidecar and double pear martini. Both were tasty and generous with the spirits. Our server was amazing and so helpful with all my dairy questions. I appreciate his patience and the back and forth with the kitchen. Cafthay Lounge is nicely decorated looking like a high-end bar. If dairy is not an issue for you the lounge menu sounds great to order some bites. Personally for me if I were to come here it would be for the drinks. The reason for the 3 stars is for the lack of plant based or dairy free options.

Such a fun spot in DCA to visit when you want a well made cocktail. Sitting outside is a blast as you can people watch and see some characters and parades come by. Service is great, cast members are so kind (as always), and very knowledgeable about the menu.

We had such a wonderful experience here. Our server Sylvia took fantastic care of us from start to finish. We ordered the Bao Buns, the lettuce wraps, and the salmon along with a few drinks. Everything was so good - I actually didn't have a chance to take more pictures because we just scarfed everything down. It was so nice to just have a moment away for us to catch our breath on a day packed with fun. It's a beautiful restaurant and I would definitely eat there again!

I have only dined at the Carthay Circle Restaurant prior to this and loved the quality of the food there. So I figured the quality of the food would just be a great at the lounge. Reservations were easy to make on the Disney app and I was surprised I was able to snag a dinner reservation a day before my DCA trip. The check-in process went smoothly with a short wait time. We were sat outside, which was fine because the weather was nice that day. I ordered the Miso Glazed Sustainable Fish where the fish of the day was salmon and my mom ordered the North African Roasted Organic Chicken Breast. We both really enjoyed our meals and felt they were satisfying and filling. We definitely would be coming back again the next time we visit DCA and if reservations do become available.

Stop by this lounge during one of my visits to DCA to try the double pair martini. This drink was absolutely delicious. We also ordered the short rib sliders and shrimp ceviche. Our server was attentive and even brought us extra chips for the ceviche without us even asking, we really appreciated that. The reason for the four stars is the hostess lady in the front was rude. Our server made up for the disappointing hostess lady, she was amazing. Don't miss out on these double pair martinis, a must try.

Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my first visit to the Carthay Circle Lounge. We had a reservation at 3:30pm, but we weren't seated until 3:50pm. Once seated, we were given water, but our order wasn't taken until much later. I suspect they may have been understaffed as several tables were empty in the lounge despite our delayed seating. We visited during the Disney California Adventure 2026 Lunar New Year celebration, so there were seasonal items featured throughout the park. I had my eye on the Golden Moonfire Cocktail. Although this item was only listed on the menu for the Carthay Circle Restaurant, I asked my server if I could still have it. She said yes, so that is what I got. To be frank, I did not like it. The drink felt heavy and weighed down by a thick, suffocating, medicinal syrup. I would liken it to cough syrup. It was not palatable. I also did not think this drink was on theme with the Lunar New Year celebration. Sure, it was red. But the flavors didn't make sense to me. Why pomegranate? Why strawberry? These are not flavors that I would associate with an Asian flavor profile. I also stole a bite of my friend's Spicy Ahi Tuna Spring Roll. I personally did not like it. I thought the sauces didn't really make sense with it. I think a spring roll is supposed to be light and fresh, and the chili oil and the saltiness from the soy sauce contradicted all of that. Peanut sauce, fish sauce, or hoisin sauce would have all been better choices. My friend liked it though.  Some positive notes - the lounge itself is quite nice. It feels like you're sitting in the lobby of a nice hotel. The bar is very pretty as well. I love the dark wood with the bottles illuminated in warm light. It's a comfortable place to sit, chat, and rest your feet after a long day of park hopping. I also liked my friend's Mai Tai. It was a well crafted drink, and I had nothing bad to say about it. It gave me some reassurance that the drinks here are usually good. Also, our server was very nice. But drinks aside, I felt like operations had a lot of room for improvement, from inconsistent reservation times to delayed service. I understand that there may be a degree of variability due to the seasonal menu items and unexpected factors that may affect service, but I just feel like so many things went wrong during this experience that I could not overlook everything. I will leave a 2 star review for now, which I think is fair, and would be open to revisiting Carthay Circle Lounge in the future.

The food here is delicious! Disney pricing applies but worth it for a quick bite. The staff are excellent and I recommend reserving a spot on the Disney app before you go. We had a quiet place to sit and the foot traffic wasn't too distracting thankfully. The Bao buns were a solid 9/10 Filet Mignon Beef Skewers - 9/10 (slightly spicy) Penne Rigate - 10/10 - amazing flavor profile!

Visited the park on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. The park was unusually extra busy, but our goal was drinks and appetizers....Carthay was perfect. With plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, the inside small lounge is actually sometimes hard to get into, but the host was super helpful and because we were patient they found us a spot at the bar! yay!! SERVICE: Fabulous! They found us a spot inside their lounge, and the bartenders were extra friendly today. FOOD: WOW!! We never really tried their small plates, but you need to try them. Great food, very tasty. Today we had the lettuce wraps and the beef skewers - along with an old fashioned and citrus berry punch - all super yummy! Oh, and my wife tried the Oogie Boogie cookies and cream macaron dessert!! Great place to get out of the heat, or hide from the kids!! (Some extra pictures from previous visits below)

Decided to try out the lounge while we were in the park, we were sat outside. Service was really good and attentive. The drinks we order was pretty strong, which was good in my opinion as everything was expensive in the park. The twice cooked beef lettuce wraps were pretty good with the sweet sauce. Beef skewers were pretty good too, came with three skewers on top of beans. My brother had the meatballs and pasta, and was pretty satisfied. Great place to have some appetizers and drinks with friendly service.

Made a reservation for dinner for 4pm. We checked in and were seated at our reservation time fairly quickly. It was a nice day and we were sat on the patio instead of inside which was nice for people watching. Although the food was stupid expensive for the appetizer sizing (roughly $20+) per item, you have to remember it is Disneyland so they no barge whatever they want because people will pay it even if to try it once like us. The food did have good flavor and was delightful. My wife said the pear martini was like a thick baby food in texture but wasn't too bad flavor wise.

Ask the Community - Carthay Circle Lounge

Our first time at Disneyland! Would you say alfresco dining is too hot during august? Thanks for the feedback!

If you go early, you'll be fine. It's a covered patio and there is also inside seating. Best drinks at DCA so definitely go!

Does Carthay Circle Lounge at Disney's California Adventure still offer walk-up bar purchases? Or do you have to have a reservation at Carthay Circle AlFresco seating to purchase a drink? TIA!

You need reservations, however you can do a walk up and see if they can get you in

How big are the portions for the mains? Are they appetizer portions or meal sized?

I had their pasta and it was a good size portion, definitely a regular size meal.

Can i dine at Carthay lounge if I don't have a park entrance? Is there a way to go just to the restaurant?

No....a park entrance, a park reservation, & the restaurant reservation are all required. Occasionally walk-ins are accepted but you would still need a park entrance and a park reservation.

Are you taking reservations at the moment or is it first come first serve?

Yes, they are taking reservations thru the disney app. You can try as a walk-in but no guarantee you'll get in

How far ahead may passport holders make a reservation?

    60 days

Do you think there will be a wait today at 3pm on a hot Sunday?

Possibly- hop on the walk in dining list on the Disney app an hour or so before hand. If it's not showing availability check every half hour or so as it updates through the day.

We attended a special Chartreuse tasting event at Strong Water which was being held in honor of…read moreChartreuse week and Chartreuse Day 1605 (May 16), the annual celebration of Chartreuse's origins and history. The tasting featured a great lineup of green and yellow Chartreuse paired with small bites. It concluded with a complementary Chartreuse-based cocktail from one of five recipes. Brand ambassador Taylor guided the event and began by telling us about the unique history of Chartreuse. The tasting started out with a small spoonful of Vegetal Elixir Chartreuse to warm up the palate. This is the base spirit of both green and yellow Chartreuse and clocks in at 138 proof. It was surprisingly not harsh, but immediately kicked my salivary glands into overdrive. I didn't even know that vintages of Chartreuse was a thing, but Taylor walked us through tasting three different vintages of both yellow and green Chartreuse, and it was surprising how different they were. The lineup concluded with more rare varietals of the green elixir 1605 and yellow cuvee. Great job, thanks Taylor! Chef Kling presented each small bite which included a crispy Icelandic cod, a roasted beet crostino, and a lamb slider. All of them had a five star list of ingredients and were delicious. Strong Water is known for their excellent cocktails, but their food is also great. For my cocktail at the end of the event, I had the Bar Flower (Green Chartreuse, Crème de Cacao, Pineapple, Lime). This was so good, with the herbal and chocolate flavors perfectly balanced. It was served with a flaming lime half. This was such a great event! Chartreuse retails for around $100 a bottle, and the higher-end varieties cost even more. At just $45 per person, this event was an amazing bargain. Strong Water frequently hosts great events, so keep an eye on their social media for upcoming dates. I really love Chartreuse, so I went back a few days later on the last day of Chartreuse week to try a few of the other limited time cocktails. I started out with their twist on a Grasshopper (Chartreuse, Crème de Menthe, Chili Liqueur, Crème de Cacao, Cream, Cane, $22). This was a great classic Grasshopper, but the Chartreuse added a herbal complexity, and there is a dash of heat on the finish from the chili liqueur. Next I had the Flare Gun (Yellow Chartreuse, Overproof Rum, Italian Bitter, Lime, Cane, $20). The yellow Chartreuse definitely comes through, but it's softer and has a light sweetness, unlike the green variety. Even though it contains overproof rum, it is perfectly balanced and not boozy at all. I usually don't like bitter drinks, but the bitterness was at a perfect light level. I finished off with the Tales from the Black Lagoon which is my favorite drink here, and it's also a favorite of many of the bartenders. All three cocktails were a home run. Chartreuse is an expensive spirit, so those drinks cost a little more than average. Shout out to Karen, Joey, Edgar, Jordan, and Ying for excellent hospitality, as always. Strong Water is our favorite place. We can't wait to go back!

We arrived around 6pm on a Sunday evening and we were bummed that it was packed full inside. We decided to go have a drink upstairs, and then come back down later to see if it was any less busy. There must have been one big group who left because 30 minutes later, it was completely empty inside. There are a few wood tables outside of the entrance and several two seat tables along the outside of the side of the train, but for a first visit we definitely wanted to be inside. When you come inside at BXCR, there are two long green couches along each side that wrap around to the entrance to maximize available space. There are two steamer trunks on each side that serve as tables. We were surprised that all of the tables had a Yahtzee game on them, and we had a blast playing that while we enjoyed our drinks. If you happen to roll a Yahtzee, they give you a candle as a prize. There is good background music playing that fits the environment. There is some good décor with overhead baggage racks and international clocks on one wall, and gauges on the wall next to the bar. There are some small rectangular windows along the top of both sides, and some curtained windows on the right side which do let a little light in. When the main entrance door is opened before its dark outside, it does let quite a bit of light in and kills the ambience temporarily. I would recommend coming closer to or after sunset to not let any outside sunlight interfere with your experience. The drinks are made at the bar in the rear where there are several seats and a little standing room. It wasn't on the current menu, but I saw on a previous menu they had an Amaretto Sour so I started with that, and it did not disappoint. It was nice and frothy from an egg white and had Angostura bitters on top. My girlfriend started with the Calm Cruise which was great. It's basically a Pina Colada, but with an additional honeydew flavor in the background. For number two, I tried the C-League cocktail. The smokiness of Mezcal has grown on me lately if it is not the primary flavor, and in this drink it is at a nice level somewhere in the middle. The cucumber and cilantro are definitely present, along with a little heat from the ancho verde and a little sweetness from the Luxardo maraschino. This is a excellent easy-drinking tequila cocktail. Her number two was the Aviation which she enjoyed. Vince was our main bartender along with Sarah. They were very friendly and fun to chit-chat with while they were mixing up our drinks. This is definitely a cool place to check out, and we will definitely return.

On our last day at the Disneyland Hotel, we decided to get lunch at Trader Sam's before embarking…read moreon our 1.5 hour (minimum) drive home. Unfortunately, the inside of the Tiki Bar was closed for repairs/upgrades, but we ate on their very pleasant outdoor patio, and luckily, the weather was lovely. I'm not that into Hawaiian type food, no offense to Hawaiians whatsoever, so I found the menu to be a bit limiting. Since I just had a poke bowl the prior night, I didn't want another, even though it was probably what I would've ordered. Most other dishes were with pork, which I don't eat. Instead, I ordered chicken tenders, which is so NOT what I would EVER order, but I did on this day. The chicken was not overly greasy, and it had good flavor. The fries were even better. The poke bowl looked gorgeous, and the 3 others who got that said it was delicious, although not nearly as much salmon as they were hoping for... and it had way too much rice. (Those of us who had poke bowls from the previous night had loads of ahi tuna and the perfect amount of rice.) My husband enjoyed his bacon cheeseburger, something I'd never get. Not a fan of bacon AT ALL. My grandchildren got the chicken tenders like their grandma. :-) We ate our food to being serenaded with live music on the patio. Nice touch. I think most people come here to drink cocktails, although we didn't since we were about to make a long trek home up the I-5. I probably won't eat here again when/if we stay at this hotel, but it served its purpose when we needed it.

Ambiance - They had a duo singing Hawaiian songs that also gave it some validity and takes you back to the island . Service - our server was amazing gave us some suggestion and was extremely attentive . Drinks- ok so we had several drinks (well that's why we're at a tiki bar) we had tiki tiki tiki tiki tiki rum, Zombie , Safe travels and Notes of adventure . Each one was amazing and couldn't think of anything wrong with our drinks . Loved each one and tasty and also potent . Overall amazing tiki bar with some kick ass drinks !
