I've driven by Kingston Audiology for years, but had never given them a second look. But I got a…read morebad case of swimmer's ear a while ago and my doctor convinced me to start wearing earplugs. I tried silicone ones from the drugstore, but wasn't happy with the fit. So when I read that Kingston Audiology was under new management, I made an appointment to get some custom-fitted earplugs. I've had friends warn me about going to an independent audiology shop, since they've had bad experiences with high-pressure sales tactics. But that wasn't what I experienced at Kingston. I made an appointment with the audiologist, and was delighted with the care I got. Not only did Dr. Tilley fit me for the earplugs, she gave me some tips for ear health that my regular doctor has never mentioned. I generally like to get my health care from someone who's up to date on their field, and that appears to be true for ears, too. I'm very happy with my earplugs, and haven't had any more problems with water in my ear since I've been wearing them. I think I'm going to go back and have some custom earplugs for hearing protection made, too. I'm going to work harder to make sure I stave off as much hearing loss as I can, and I'm confident I've found a local partner to help me in that quest.
