My brother brought my mom here for her second pair of hearing-aids. The new ones were nothing but trouble too loud, and couldn't hear clearly. After about a week we had an appointment with another hearing aid company to try another set. At the 2nd hearing appointment the Dr. used a fiber optic scope to examine both of my mom's ears. On a monitor right in front of their eyes my mom and brother were shown how one ear was clogged with wax. And impacted inside that wax were 3 wax filters from the original hearing aids. He immediately told my mom she needed to see her ear Dr immediately and have the wax and impacted filters removed. This needed to be done before any evaluation for new hearing aids could be performed. Needless to say that meant that Zounds dispensed new hearing aids to my mother and completely missed the impacted wax and the wax filters from the the original hearing aids. How can something like that happen? That's medical incompetence. Zounds has a 30 refund policy but my brother was traveling at the time. He was told by the office staff that it would be no problem to return after that date with a 10% fee. He has now tried several times to return but has been unsuccessful. My 91 year old mom now has a useless pair of $3,300 hearing-aids because of Zounds incompetence.

I contacted Northern Valley ENT after some local ENT specialists either kept me on hold for 30+…read moreminutes (to make an appointment??) or had no availability today. The staff answered my calls promptly and was able to squeeze me in to treat an issue with my ear. They have pretty solid COVID restrictions, with asks to put in all paperwork and payment virtually to minimize any time spent in the office. There is also a waiting area outside as well, though they ask you to stay in your car until they call you when the doctor is almost ready. I saw Dr. Scherl who was very professional in his bedside manner and had plenty of expertise. He was able to treat and resolve my issue quickly and took care of the problem gently. The staff was also very professional and friendly. Overall I thought this was a very good experience and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for ENT care.
