After making the rounds through the years of trying to get my Mom great hearing aids, there was…read morenever an amazing outcome for her. Did she hear better? Yes, but the sound was not crisp & often could hear sound but not well. When my brother lost one of the hearing aids, I had to find a great place that understood her needs & truly cared about the outcome. I wasn't sure that was possible. I did some research online and made an apt at Ahren's. We were greeted warmly by both the receptionist and waited a short while to meet Kathy. Kathy took us into her office for a very thorough exam- something we had not experienced before at other places. There be an exam, yes, but not like this. Kathy immediately noticed that wax build up was an issue, certainly adding to the hearing loss. She cleaned the ears but could not clean one ear as well and sent us to the ENT to clean the wax. She gave my mom a loaner hearing aid until we ordered her new ones. You'd think this would be common before fitting for hearing aids but it was not what we'd experienced. We went back with the cleaned ears and further testing continued. Kathy discussed all the options and we decided on pair. We also got the phone & tv accessory. I cannot tell you how happy my mom is now. She's 91 and has a whole new world opened to her because of Ahren's and Kathy. We highly recommend Ahren's for you or your family member. You will not be disappointed, but will be pleasantly surprised.

Then I started working with Dr. Carrion. From the first visit, he really listened and took my injury seriously. Over the next couple of months, we worked hard together--adjustments, recovery sessions, different treatments--everything I needed to get better. He was super consistent, always made sure I was improving, and pushed me just the right amount. Thanks to Dr. Carrion, not only did I come back--I finished the season strong. I helped my team win the conference and was even named MVP of the entire region. None of that would've been possible without his help. He didn't just fix my back. He said there are no licensed audiologists on staff and when I asked what medical or educational qualifications he has he responded, "35 years experience." He then became somewhat hostile and asked why am I asking these questions. I responded I just wanted to know what medical qualifications he has. He responded, again, "35 years in business." I tanked him and ended the call. I don't know why anyone would go there when there are many audiologists, (Doctor of Audiology) around.

Whenever I…read moremake an appointment there, I always tell Dr. Marcus that there are few audiologists like her left, as she extends the utmost respect, as well as the best possible medical care to each patient that visits, taking time to listen, even when she is busy. The office is filled with many patients as a result. In my 67 years, Dr. Marcus is the best audiologist that I have ever encountered. I have never met an audiologist who is at the same time so tremendously knowledgeable and caring. In every dimension of her work, it's obvious how much she loves her profession. That translates into commitment to her patients, whether that involves the immediate tests/diagnostics, or the ongoing attention to the medical issue. Something that stood out to me is the medical responsiveness of the practice. Any medical issue is treated immediately. There are no "later" appointments in emergency. It is easy to make an appointment as well as to follow up. That is critical to care. At a time when many practices do not offer "same-day" appointments, this practice treats the whole person and does so right away. Yet beyond that, the practice delivers medical care with heart, along with state-of-the-art technology and professional perspectives. I can't recommend any practice more. --Christina L.
