Her true professionalism exuded in handling the tests that she conducted, as well the informative session that ensued. She discussed all the appropriate hearing instruments, their pros and cons, technical specifications, and cost structures. A large range of hearing aids are available but the most expensive with the newest technologies is the one offered. The hearing aid specialist described many of these technologies plus Bluetooth connectivity. She told me I would have to come back weekly for a couple weeks to learn how to use all the technologies associated with these hearing aids. When I received my hearing aids she set them, told me to use them and come back in one week. I made an appointment and when I came back she asked how my hearing was and I told her great. She then told me to come back in six months so she could check the setting. I asked her what happened to the education regarding the various technologies associated with these hearing aids. She took my IPhone, changed some settings and told me I now have blue tooth. I was anticipating more, even simple tasks such as changing volume on the hearing aids. There is no point in having Oticon's most expensive hearing aids with the newest technologies if you don't know how to use them!

After making the rounds through the years of trying to get my Mom great hearing aids, there was…read morenever an amazing outcome for her. Did she hear better? Yes, but the sound was not crisp & often could hear sound but not well. When my brother lost one of the hearing aids, I had to find a great place that understood her needs & truly cared about the outcome. I wasn't sure that was possible. I did some research online and made an apt at Ahren's. We were greeted warmly by both the receptionist and waited a short while to meet Kathy. Kathy took us into her office for a very thorough exam- something we had not experienced before at other places. There be an exam, yes, but not like this. Kathy immediately noticed that wax build up was an issue, certainly adding to the hearing loss. She cleaned the ears but could not clean one ear as well and sent us to the ENT to clean the wax. She gave my mom a loaner hearing aid until we ordered her new ones. You'd think this would be common before fitting for hearing aids but it was not what we'd experienced. We went back with the cleaned ears and further testing continued. Kathy discussed all the options and we decided on pair. We also got the phone & tv accessory. I cannot tell you how happy my mom is now. She's 91 and has a whole new world opened to her because of Ahren's and Kathy. We highly recommend Ahren's for you or your family member. However, when I needed a part quickly, I called and Ahren's arranged it out of pure kindness. So much so that they even left it with their neighboring store for me to pick up after my own work hours. They are just good people who do everything in their power to help people.
