We absolutely love Healthy Young Smiles! We have 4 kids and every time we go the staff blows us away with their ways to make everyone comfortable! Ms Julie is amazing and has such a way with making our kids feel safe and welcome. She was extremely personable and so gentle in her explaining of the procedure for our 3 year old who is usually terrified. We had no tears and no cavities today! Woo! This pediatric dentist office is amazing for so many reasons. I've listed some of them here: 1. Very clean and spacious waiting area but we didn't spend much time there as they called us back within 5 mins of arriving 2. Experienced and kind dental hygienists who managed to get X-rays from our son who had been afraid of this for years and had no success at other pediatric dental offices, this alone was reason enough to go here 3. Dr. Carolyn is very professional and has a great way with the kids, we have two and they both immediately asked when they could come back 4. The area for the standard dental visit is big and clean and super kid friendly (made me wish I could be a patient here!) If I had known this office was here many years ago it would've been our first and only choice. Highly recommend for all parents with young kids who want a family friendly professional dental visit. read more

My kids actually enjoy getting their teeth pulled here (although we have had a few pulled because of cavities, the majority have been in coordination with our orthodontist for overcrowding). The staff is always super friendly and there is never a long wait once we arrive for our appointments. And there is always great follow-up afterwards. read more

The environment is extremely kid friendly and comforting. The staff is so positive and they stay in tune with the child's comfort. I feel that their technology and equipment are up to par. My daughter is 8 and I picked her up at school today to have a cavity filled, she literally skipped and joked like she was good with having it done...not what I remember as a kid. Doctor Loughlin at Healthy Young Smiles is unprofessional with the adults she interacts with while tending to children. My daughter, who is six years old, had two cavities on one side and two on the other. We came in for the first visit for filling the one side of the mouth. When my daughter was done with the fillings for the first visit, she was crying and visibly upset because she never experienced her mouth numb like that. As my daughter is crying, the doctor tells me to focus on herself (the doctor) so she can explain something to me about my daughter's breathing from the mouth being a problem, and the doctor needing her to breathe from the nose. The doctor's tone of voice was very belittling. When I told her that I was trying to focus on my daughter crying, she said that the nurse can deal with that and that I need to understand what she (the doctor was saying). After this incident, I told a few people who all told me not to go back again, after being treated this way. I did not listen and always like to give people the benefit of the doubt. Fast forward to today. I went into the office and gave Benadryl to my daughter, as advised. The doctor started to work on my daughter's mouth and looked up at me and said, "She's gagging. I can't do this." To which I said, "Okay, ummm.. are you done then?" I was bewildered on what she wanted me to say. She then repeated herself and said, "I can't do this with her gagging. It's not even safe for me to do so." To which I said, "Okay, so do you need to stop?" She then stated she will finish the one filling and be done. Leaving me with one of the fillings undone. I then started to text my husband to let him know the news. I look up from my telephone and the doctor is staring at me and telling me not to text. I then told her I was texting my husband the news. She was snarky back at me. At this point, I told her she was being nasty and she turns to her assistant and says something like "do you think this is true"? Of course, the assistant states that she is not nasty. The doctor then ignores me the rest of the time. Leaves the room. Doesn't tell me that she did just the one filling. I had to ask the assistant if that was what was done. As I am leaving, I am walked out by another person telling me never to come to the practice again. At this point, I am in tears. I share this story so that other parents know what I just went through at this practice. It was not professional nor warranted. read more

We had a very disappointing experience with Healthy Young Smiles. My kids has been patients of Dr. Loughlin's for 6 years at her previous office. When she moved to her new office, I asked if they still accepted our insurance. They said they did but failed to tell me that we were now out of network and we received a huge bill that we have been fighting for weeks now. They did x-Rays and fluoride in addition to the regular cleaning for all four of my kids knowing that we were out of network. I was never asked permission to do any of these things. Their response to me now is that "it was my responsibility to know who I was in network with, not theirs". It was a sneaky move on their part and I feel completely unappreciated as a patient. I would never recommend them to anyone because they are not up front about their billing and they are exceedingly expensive as it is. Big disappointment. read more

This pediatric dentist office is nothing short of amazing! Faye, the front desk receptionist, made our time as first time patients seamless. As parents of a seven year old son with Autism finding a special needs dentist is anything but an easy task. We were referred to Dr. Loughlin at Healthy Young Smiles by our primary family dentist and couldn't have been more pleased with the service and treatment we have received for our son. From the second we walked through the door it was evident that this was the practice that had been looking for. The environment is cheerful and welcoming to children of all ages. Dr Loughlin was amazing from our initial consultation through our son's dental surgery. She was able to reverse seven years of dental issues in one day with zero pain and even more importantly no emotional trauma. As wonderful as Dr. Loughlin is, so is her staff. From our first visit to the office Faye was amazingly helpful in every aspect from scheduling my son's dental surgery to helping us coordinate our multiple insurance hurdles to ensure that we received as much coverage possible for our son's treatment. I can't express enough the wonderful experience we've had with Dr. Loughlin and her staff at Healthy Young Smiles!!!!!!!!! read more

My son likes it there and they had done a good job but when it comes to billing, it's fuzzy and very expensive.

Beware of their estimates and billing practices. We ended up with more than $5,000 bill for a a pediatric dental work that they estimated to be just a little north of $1,000. We asked them many times to inform us if the work will be substantially more. They said if there was it would be just a few hundreds more. The dentist did 'ALL' the work anyway and gave us a few hundred discount after the fact. We felt violated and fooled. We didn't even know if all the work she did was necessary as it was for baby teeth. Now we have to find a way to produce the rest of the money to pay. We are honest people and we have no problem paying what is due but the way we ended up with the bill is very questionable. It was not an emergency, btw, if they have told us right away that the cost will be that much we would have backed off and got a second opinion. read more

Beware!! This office is a cannibal. It will eat your money right out of your wallet. My twins were given three appointments to get three cavities filled. That meant I was going to be stuck with three co-pays, three fees remaining from insurance and three laughing gas bills the insurance would not pay. Why Dr. Loughlin could not fix all three teeth at one visit to save us all the extra fees, I don't know. And you would think it would be cruel and unusual punishment to fill a kids teeth without some anesthesia. So why would a 4 year old need "laughing gas" to be knocked out? Wouldn't local numbing do? Only ones laughing after the visit were the staff. I was so angry when I realized what the Dentist had done, charging us $70 for the laughing gas at each visit and all the other multiple fees, I paid for what we did have done for one twin and left vowing not to go back for a third visit or to bring my other baby back. We didn't need a stuffed animal, but it sure would be nice to have my $140 back!! read more
