I'll be adjusting my eating habits over the next few months by slowly eliminating some meats (pork)…read moreand reducing consumption of others to only two or three meals a week. Naturally I will be drawn to vegan cuisine during this time, particularly on days I'm in need of a meat fix! Enter: The Vegan Side of Things I ordered the Pho Bowl ($15.59) while my wife and son ordered the Fried Rice ($16.49) and Moxtails ($16.49). The flavor of the Pho Bowl was OUTSTANDING - 10 out of 10! I could literally eat this every single day for the rest of my life! The other items were also very good, which makes me wonder if any of it is actually GOOD FOR US! lol NOTE: The Pho here isn't a soup, nor does it taste like Vietnamese pho. The prices weren't outrageous, the portions were filling and everything came out piping hot! They also bring the food to your car when your order is ready. Greatly appreciated on this 90+ degree day where sitting in my own air conditioned space was so much better than waiting to hear my name called in the Georgia heat. FINAL THOUGHTS Didn't know VEGAN FOOD could be this delicious! I highly recommend, especially the Pho Bowl. PRO TIP - Currently this mobile food truck business is servicing the Loganville GA area. But he does seem to move locations randomly, so might be best to call before you drive.

The staff inside the barbecue restaurant let me know that The Vegan Side of Things was formerly located there, but they believe it now operates out of Loganville. I attempted calling the phone number connected to this restaurant while sitting in the parking lot of the barbecue restaurant, but got no answer even though it was within business hours on a Friday.

I walked in and spoke with two gentlemen who took my order for a gluten-free chicken pita. Shortly afterward, a woman came out of the bathroom, and my immediate impression was that she looked extremely unkempt and unhygienic, which already made me uncomfortable about eating there. She then informed me that she couldn't guarantee my food would be gluten-free because there was flour in the facility, as is the case in almost every restaurant in the world. I simply asked whether she could clean the grill and prepare the gluten-free pita advertised on their own menu. Instead, she proceeded to give me numerous reasons why she couldn't accommodate such a simple request. I then stepped away to use the restroom. When I returned, she had refunded my entire order, left my money on the counter, and was flat-out refusing to make my food. I was absolutely stunned. I've never experienced anything like this. To make matters worse, I had already spent approximately 15 minutes just trying to locate the restaurant because the building is under construction and the business is nearly impossible to see. I can only imagine how challenging that already is for the owner. But having someone treat customers this way, especially customers simply trying to order something advertised on the menu, is an even bigger problem. I sincerely hope the owner sees this review because I would want to know if someone representing my business was treating customers this way. Without question, the worst experience I've ever had at any food establishment. I went out of my way to support this restaurant and left without food, completely shocked by how I was treated.

We also tried the mac & cheese and a cold avocado sandwich, which were both really good as well. The restaurant itself had a very nice atmosphere -- clean, comfortable, and relaxing to sit in while eating. The staff was decent, although there wasn't much interaction outside of the cashier at the register. Customer service could have been a little more engaging, but the food and overall vibe of the restaurant still made it an enjoyable visit. Definitely a solid stop if you're looking for a casual meal in a comfortable setting.

This location is really adorable; it looks like it belonged in a cobblestone village tucked away…read moresomewhere. But a big shocker for me was that I never knew they had pastries, which is crazy. I've been coming to different locations for years and never noticed. However, in this location, they displayed the pastries out in the open, as well as the loaves of bread in beautiful baskets. I ordered the summertime Italian salad, which was good, with a side order of Mexican Corn soup. I think both of the options are there for a very limited time. The salad was very tasty with loads of pepperoni, cheese, and croutons. But I didnt like the dressing so much. I think it's me; I don't like anything vinegar-based. However, that wasn't a problem; the server was kind enough to offer another dressing of my choice. Now, the Mexican Corn soup should be on the menu year-round. It's a very hearty dish with lots of corn, chicken, and more veggies.
